USA Today bestselling series.India Steele is desperate. Her father is dead, her fiancé took her inheritance, and no one will employ her, despite years working for her watchmaker father. Indeed, the other London watchmakers seem frightened of her. Alone, poor, and at the end of her tether, India takes employment with the only person who’ll accept her – an enigmatic and mysterious man from America. … man from America. A man who possesses a strange watch that rejuvenates him when he’s ill.
Matthew Glass must find a particular watchmaker, but he won’t tell India why any old one won’t do. Nor will he tell her what he does back home, and how he can afford to stay in a house in one of London’s best streets. So when she reads about an American outlaw known as the Dark Rider arriving in England, she suspects Mr. Glass is the fugitive. When danger comes to their door, she’s certain of it. But if she notifies the authorities, she’ll find herself unemployed and homeless again – and she will have betrayed the man who saved her life.
With a cast of quirky characters, an intriguing mystery, and a dash of romance, THE WATCHMAKER’S DAUGHTER is the start of a thrilling new historical fantasy series from the author of the bestselling Ministry of Curiosities, Freak House, and Emily Chambers Spirit Medium books.

Loved the book can’t wait to get part 2
I really enjoyed the story
I like the characters and the book is well written.
I loved this book! A cozy mystery set in a time when a horse and carriage are the number one choice in vehicles, and hoop dresses were the style. If you enjoy historical fiction, give this one a go. If you’re looking for romance, you will not find it, here. It’s full of mystery and had me laughing so hard at times, I had to put the book down and take a moment. I’m looking forward to reading the other 6 in this series.
It was an interesting story line with some unusual characters for the time period. I would read others in this series.
Really enjoyed this and was sad when it ended and there were no more pages to read. I’ll be adding this author to my favorites list.
My favorite book/series I can’t stop reading it.
The mysteries in this book sure kept me guessing! The clash of the cultures and social status is certainly amusing. But the silly behavioral rules of the time grate on my nerves, wish it was set in a better time for women…but that would detract from the story. I love these characters, gonna have to check out book 2!
Strongly investigative with a touch of old fashioned romance.
A very interesting original story line. Definitely looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
Not on my list of best books to read, but might appeal to some.
It was hard to go to work until I finished this. The characters were delightful and believable. The storyline kept me intrigued. I had to purchase the next in the series right away.
Absolutely wonderful read! I have no read the series in its entirety two times in a few months. If you haven’t read this book your going to want to grab it. Magic, romance, mystery, and action all packed into the old streets of London!
I love her characters and the slow development of friendships through her series. Each person has their own quirkiness and as you progress
Love the whole series! Anxiously awaiting the next book…
I enjoy a little magical read:)
Can’t wait to find out more about that magic watch!
This is a great start to a great series.
Great book. Love the characters and the premise of this book. Its a pleasure to read. So much so that I am currently reading all the others in the series. The story is expanded in each book so not really a stand alone story but worth the money to continue the journey. Some typo’s so if you are stickler for perfection be warned but I did not find so many as to be distracting.
I was hooked from the first pager. Loved the blend of mystery and fantasy, adventure, magic, and a touch or romance!
