A Believable historical novel with family interests
Interesting story about Poland in the 1700’s. Great intermix of story and history. Will read the other books in the trilogy.
Good story about a country whose history I did not know.
I really enjpyed it.
This is a trilogy, I read the first one could not find the other two so ordered them from the library. Such a fantastic historical book of a family. I now have two out of the three books and would consider reading them again.
Read the whole series!
Revealing a painful chapter of Poland’s proud history.
I looked forward to reading it every night, it transported me to a different period in time . i enjoyed it thoroughly.
This book is part of a trilogy and I liked because of it’s historical content. Always interesting to read how Eastern Europe changed throughout the years and the reasons for it. I’m not just looking for facts, I like to read a story with it, so if you like historical fiction, you might want to give this a try as there are not too many stories about Poland and it’s history
Historically accurate and easy to read. Intriguing story regarding family values in war torn Poland.
a historical book about Poland and the Russian bear
Having read the first 2 of the trilogy, this was a great ending of the story. The first 2 were also wonderful. History in school was so dull and boring, and never was so interesting. We learned nothing of European history at all. So glad to be able to learn of this part of history I missed. Thank you for this story and your great writing.
I read the entire trilogy and recommend all three books. Unfamiliar with this part of Polish history, I found it very informative and interesting. It follows the story of a family through a historical time period, containing action, romance and tragedy. The characters were well drawn and I found myself engrossed in their fate.
the parellels in this history to what is going on today in the U.S. are truly eye opening. This book brought great insights into both sides of the political spectrum.
Part of history I did not know, well written, page turner
Although fictional characters, much of the story is accurate (I fact checked it). The story gave me great understanding of the turmoil and tragedy of Polish history.
I enjoyed all of the characters and viewing through this novel how Poland was torn apart by the very countries that they had saved from the Moors.
I read this straight thru. Gripping.
Too slow moving and too much unnecessary detail to keep the reader’s attention.
