Giselle didn’t know how long she lay near catatonic, willing the terrible headache to go away. She sat up as one of the reptilian aliens entered. Giselle backed up and looked around, realizing she was alone in a gilded cage.“What’s going on?” she stammered.“If you’re wise you’ll keep quiet. Pets don’t speak on this planet,” the creature admonished.A pet? Giselle’s eyes widened. She hadn’t … hadn’t misheard.
Her cage was moved into a large tent. There were hundreds of aliens gathered for the auction, and these creatures were the largest yet. Their flesh was red like some kind of demon might be, with hair a uniform dark black. From what Giselle could see, their eyes were a stone-cold obsidian hue. Giselle noticed the fearsome creatures had long tails that rose out from what looked like chainmail kilts. Giselle shrunk back when she saw the creatures also had sharp fangs.
How in the hell could she get out of this, and if she did, how could she possibly survive on an alien planet?
Kagan beheld his pet. Nothing like her kind had ever set foot on Cadi. Kagan wondered where in the universe her unique species hailed from.
Giselle refused to behave and even enjoyed his attempts to rebuke her, reveling in the rough handling a male usually refrained from with females. Giselle was brave instead of meek, standing up for herself in a sea of foreigners.
Kagan had at first insisted that Giselle understand her place in Cadi society. But something more valuable than precious metal or jewels would be lost if Giselle were forced into the role everyone thought she belonged.
Can Giselle find acceptance and love on an alien planet, or will she always be nothing more than a warrior’s pet?

I really did enjoy “The Warriors Pet” It’s been a while since I read me a good Alien romance and this one ticked all my boxes.
If I had one criticism though ( and this is where it lost a star for me ) its that I had to suspend my disbelief slightly as the story unfolded.
Giselle the Pet of the forenamed book title manages to completely turn opinions around as she slowly morphs into this super wise woman who excels at everything she does including war-mongering.
Bringing to a head years of conflict between two opposite warring factions.
I really just couldn’t see it myself; despite this, I still adored events here; losing myself in the rich well-developed landscape this author has constructed with such finesse.
So after Giselle is abducted from earth she founds herself auctioned off as a pet.
Eventually finding herself the personal Pet of Kagan.
Giselle is the opposite to everything a Cadi woman is; Bold, Brave and outspoken and it’s not long before Kagan starts to realise he just might have met his match in his new little plaything.
But stuck on a planet where Giselle is seen as little more than property can she change the attitudes around her and win her man.
So this was a great imaginative read that captured and kept my attention so easily.
It was told in dual POV; Kagen and Giselle’s and captured their essences beautifully.
I was super invested in all the outcomes here and despite some instances where I would have prefered a slightly different scenario than what we were given I still essentially loved most things about this.
I am a sucker for Aliens that actually resemble aliens and that is what we are given here with tail fangs and all and this for me was a massive plus point in this story’s favour.
Oh, and as an added incentive this was also smokin hot also; like set the pages to blazing.
So this gets a definite thumbs up from me It’s a fun sexy read that really manages to deliver.
A great start to a new series.

An addictive and compelling read, this book was hard to put down, the story just grabbing your attention and never letting it go. It started out mild but then just kept building in action, heat, and suspense. Giselle has got to be one my my favorite heroines of all time, even if she does come off a little too perfect, she’s still a magnetic character. I loved this book, can’t wait to see if Dagaa gets his own as well!
Thrilling, feel-good story!
Kagan is one lucky fellow, choosing to snatch Giselle along with some Toufik for slave labor. He’s totally unprepared for the changes about to occur in his life, but sees the wisdom in adapting. My kind of guy!
Giselle is an unusually adept student of military history. I love that she is able to use that knowledge to help Kagan and his warriors prepare a surprise attack against the enemy. She’s highly observant and not afraid to let her view be known, regardless of the status of women in the Cadi world. A sexy romance, packed with action!
OMG!! One of the best Sci-fi romances I’ve read. I love the sexy strong intelligent human female who not only gets her man but saves her man. I’m currently reading the second book in the series.
What a nice surprise. Wasn’t as dark as I thought it would be (some triggers). Predictable, but still a good read. Main characters were likeable, low angst and the sex scenes heat level was hot! It’s a happily ever after ending with a set up for the next couple. Will continue this series.
