Due to darker themes, more mature content, and possible triggers, the recommended reading age for this third installment in the enchanting Alinthia series is eighteen and older. This is upper YA/NA crossover reverse harem paranormal romance which gets steamier as the series develops. This is not a standalone read. Full-length 86,000 word novel.more
If I could give this 6 stars I would! Ms. Davis takes you on an intense journey with Alinthia and the boys. The story takes a dark turn, but with good reason. The boys and Alinthia are forced to deal with betrayals, injustice, horrible situations, and being forcibly separated. The age old battle between good and evil, light and dark, continues on in the third installment of The Alinthia Series and you don’t want to miss it!
I love this series. This installment follows Alinthia after she has been captured by the government and the guys have been taken by Alandra and Arantu.
At the government facility she meets other aliens who are aware of the prophecy. Alinthia makes new friends in Tav and Ellya. Tav introduces Alinthia to the secret society theory and how they will find them when breaking out of the facility. Alinthia works with Zorc to find her powers even though she finds out he is playing both sides. Alinthia is eventually broke out of the facility and taken by the secret society where she continues to work on her powers until she connects to the guys and finds them being caught in an escape plan.
Alinthia is able to rescue her guys and they make it back to Earth but it’s not happily ever after or the end of Arantu or the government…
I’m not sure I can make it until 2019 to find out what happens.
I really enjoyed reading this book. This is book 3 in the Alinthia series, and it’s packed with suspense and danger in a dark and desolate setting. I’d recommend this book to fans of sci-fi and reverse harem books with hott aliens.
I received an eARC of this book from the author. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of this review.
Please note that there may be spoilers to prior books in this review. Read at your own risk.
Sioban Davis has done it again! I devoured The Warrior Princess forgoing sleep to finish it in the wee hours of the morning. SO worth it!!! Picking up right where The Secret Heir left off, Davis throws the reader right into the action without a time gap and little recap (so if you haven’t read the previous books you will be lost). Alinthia has been taken by the government, and the boys are in the hands of General Arantu. Things couldn’t be worse for them, or could it? It’s Davis so we know it will
Alinthia and Her Protectors
I really felt for Alinthia in this book. Not only is she dealing with being captured, she is separated from her protectors and betrayed by her best friend. She’s grieving and angry, ready for a fight. However her predicament really prevents that. As the reader, it’s interesting to read how Alinthia handles not only her capture, but her separation. Instead of wallowing, which let’s face it most would, she faces it head on with determination. She never doubts her ability to escape and save her protectors which is admirable, if not a little cocky and reckless.
Her protectors on the other hand are at the mercy of Arantu and his daughter. Their storyline is dark and agonizing at times to read. Torture just doesn’t seem like an adequate word for what happens to them, specifically Dane. My heart broke over and over again, and it physically ached while my stomach turned at what I was reading. I’ll admit that even though I finished this book in one sitting, I had to step away a few times and skim a couple because it was too much for me. However Davis captures the raw pain of the characters beautifully.
Betrayal and Power
Most of this book takes place on two worlds: Earth with Alinthia and Alinthia’s home world with her protectors. I was curious as to how this would balance out. This series is billed as a reverse harem romance yet the boys are off planet and separated from Alinthia a majority of the story. My curiosity was satisfied In the previous books a few chapters are told from the boys’ POV and the same here.
As I already mentioned, Alinthia is dealing with betrayal, but she isn’t the only one. The boys are dealing with their handler’s betrayal and learning that everything they’ve been taught to believe isn’t true. The prophecy was twisted to fit Arantu’s agenda. Everything they thought they knew as fact is now put into question.
And Alinthia….well she is pushed to her breaking point. Her powers are becoming stronger and without the boys there to guide her she has to rely on the one person she doesn’t trust. I love how Davis shows Alinthia’s cunning here. It’s a character trait that was already present, but really fleshed out as Alinthia trains in the government facility.
More Please?
Overall I loved The Warrior Princess….well as much as you can say you love a book filled with torture Alinthia’s growth, the boys torture, the confrontation with Arantu….it’s all written perfectly with emotion that bleeds off the pages. I cannot wait to read the next installment and see how Davis handles the healing and aftermath of the events in this one. If you enjoy science fiction romance, I highly recommend it!
Alinthia/Tori, is turning into such a kicka** heroine! In this third installment of Siobhan Davis’s Alinthia Series, Alinthia is coming into her powers. Motivated by the kidnapping of her Protectors, she rises to the challenges that she must face in order to save them and her people. If you enjoyed the first two installments, then you know how much of a page turner this is going to be. Davis is weaving an incredible tale with Alinthia and it is going to be one I hope to share with my daughter someday. Seeing a young women as a heroine is something I hope to see more Authors do in the future. I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.
Love these characters
Wowee! Waiting for book 4 is going to be torture. The more we get in this series the more exciting it becomes. Tori is becoming stronger cant wait to see what she does next.
Tori never ceases to amaze me! She is quite the emotional person. She hates just as hard as she loves and is willing to fight for those she loves even while being scared to death. I hope everything comes together with the guys in the next book and I really really cant wait to get my hands on it!
An amazing read!
She’ll tear the galaxy apart to save them…
What a crazy ride it was – so many emotions I went through with these characters. I became so invested in this series that I cannot wait for the next book and I so do not want it to end at all.
By word, what an amazing, awesome and fantastic addition to this series. A must read!
The writing was amazing, heartfelt and brilliant. I think it was the best and most possibly my favourite book in this series!
Full of aliens, twists and turns, surprises, angst, action, adventure and romance.
Perfect for readers of paranormal reverse harem romances/sci-fi romances.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
And we thought Siobhan Davis couldn’t get any grittier or dish anything worse on Alinthia and her protectors. THE WARRIOR PRINCESS is Ms. Davis’ writing talent and creativity on steroids as she takes a walk on the dark side with her story telling. Hang on to your hearts, as Alinthia steps up her game and someone is going to pay for messing with her men.
Raw, brutal, cringe-worthy, this time out Siobhan Davis really tests her characters and they come out bigger, better, stronger as a group and individually as Alinthia learns she cannot always depend on her protectors to come for her and that just maybe it is time she returns the favor, before it is too late.
Evil has never been so despicable, so devious and vile, but just maybe, this is the wakeup call Alinthia needed to grow into herself and her destiny. Is she ready for the challenges she must face? Can she remain on the side of good when evil is all around her?
This could be the best of the series! HUGE character growth, an atmosphere that will make your skin crawl and Siobhan Davis at the helm…fabulous reading as this series just gets better and better!
“I will do anything and everything to protect those four guys, including killing anyone who stands in the way between us.” – Tori
This is the best book of the series so far! It consumed me from beginning to end, and I couldn’t read quickly enough to see what was in store for Tori and the guys. Siobhan Davis takes the story down a dark path in this incredible addition to a RH series with a difference. Dane shows just how far he’ll go to keep Tori and the other guys safe; even at the risk of his own sanity. Coop has always been my favourite up to now, but Dane weaved a special place for himself in my heart as I witnessed his own fight for survival.
I love that Siobhan Davis doesn’t just focus on the relationships building between the main characters. This series gives the reader so much more than what you’d expect from one of this genre, and that makes it even more unputdownable. The way she writes shows how much time and effort she puts into plotting out the storyline and researching the facts needed. For me, one enjoyable part of this book was the incorporation of Egypt’s history. This is a topic that I have a lot of interest in, and the history was combined so brilliantly that it added to the story.
Whilst parts of this story are dark, there’s also heat as Tori takes the next step towards becoming even closer with the guys. There’s also moments that had me chuckling, and one that stood out was towards the end involving Mrs King, Tori’s mother. It’s very clear where Tori gets her strength and fight from. We also get to hear from Coop, Dane, Beck and Maddox who each get chapters showing their POV as the story progresses. We get to see what they’re going through whilst Tori battles to deal with the situation she’s put in by someone she considered a very good friend.
I can’t recommend this book, and series, enough. I only wish I could award it more than 5 stars!

This book kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Alinthia is captured by a government agency where she starts to train to increase her powers and strengths. She then finds out that her protectors have also been kidnapped. She will do anything to save them. There is so much action in this book. I couldn’t put the book down. My heart was in my throat. Everyone is suffering so much. This books is so well written and I would definitely recommend you read this series.
This was definitely the most heart wrenching of the series. From all of the unknowns to the turmoil that each character goes through some more than others. My heart was breaking. I wanted to jump in the book and fix things. I will tell you this at one point in the book I was ready to curse you Siobhan. I was so upset and wanted to cry. You have unique ways of redeeming yourself. And I’m on the edge waiting for the next yet again!
The cover is the first indication of the dramatic turn this book takes in the series. There is a lot more darkness and steaminess in this installment. I loved it on its own, although it moves quickly to upper YA/NA from the earlier books, which were more middle YA.
I am voluntarily reviewing an advance complimentary copy of this book.
OMG what a book. Alinthia, Dane, Cooper, Maddox and Beck are back again, and what a ride they are in for. Who is captured? Who dies? Darn, I need the next book NOW. Five definite stars from this very happy reader.
I think this is my favorite book of the series so far. I’m not going to lie, some stuff went down in this one. Like, very hard to read. But it was such an important part of the story, and I appreciate how real it felt in terms of the effects it had on that character and others. I truly don’t know if there is any coming back from what happened. I hope they make it, but it is going to be a battle.
Alinthia got some sweet revenge in this one. I shipped it. She tapped into her dark side, and I’m not even mad. They deserved worse.
And the ending! I’ve been waiting for this. *sigh* I just love these books.
***I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary advanced reader copy of this book.***
I really really really loved this book. To be honest, I love all of Siobhan’s books. I have not been disappointed in her yet. Her writing is so good, it just draws you in, almost instantaneously.
The first thing I ever read by her was in the fantasy realm, and I have to admit her fantasy books are always my favorites. This one definitely did not disappoint.
Where do I even begin to tell you what I liked about this book? It’s hard to discuss it without giving much away, and I prefer to keep my reviews spoiler free.
It was really fun to watch Alinthia come more into her own with her powers, it’s not like she became all powerful or anything, she still makes mistakes, but she’s learning more, and becoming more confident.
Beck is my favorite and I loved seeing him get more confident in this book, yay!
There were some things that occurred in this book that I was like, “Yes! I’m so glad that happened!” There were other things that happened that were hard to read, because they weren’t happy or nice things, but they were well within the realm of what was realistic, given the characters involved. I really liked so much of it and it’s so hard to explain what I liked without giving anything away.
This book has Siobhan Davis written all over it. It’s suspenseful, steamy, and superbly written. I would highly recommend to anyone who is a fan of Siobhan Davis, especially if they like the first two books in the series.
I received a complimentary ARC of this book. I am reviewing it voluntarily.
Every book by Siobhan keeps me riveted the entire time I’m reading. It’s so difficult to put one of her books down. Much like a cheesecake, you end up wanting to devour the whole thing in one sitting!
This series, being a reverse harem story, is one I wasn’t sure if I could get into, but I’m happy to say that is not the case. I’ve become fully invested in Tori’s story and in each of her protectors. I’m also not usually a big fan of alien and sci-fi type stories, but every single one of her stories in this genre have had me captivated. I think it’s because she keeps the perfect amount of realism and romance balanced with the sci-fi aspects of the stories. You truly find yourself rooting for the couples in the books.
Tori/Alinthia has to face more than she’s had to face before in this volume. She’s being held captive and being put through tests that no one should have to endure. Meanwhile, she doesn’t know what’s happened to her guys and that puts more stress on her. There is betrayal of the very highest, and a lot of action going on in this book. At the end, we realize it’s only just the beginning. I am going to have a very hard time waiting for the fourth book to come out!
*I received an ARC of this book which I voluntarily reviewed.*
Wow. Alinthia finds herself in a whole new predicament this time around. She’s surrounded by a new set of people.. in unfamiliar territory. Can she trust anyone around her..? Plus, her protectors also find themselves in a whole other mess. Will they be able to make it out unscathed or will they be forever scarred? Will the five (Alinthia and her protectors) be reunited or has the real fight just begun? Find out for yourself!
Alinthia’s story continues with emotion, drama and intrigue. Just remember that people are not always who they seem to be as you read. You will be on the edge of your seat as Alinthia attempts to rescue her hot men. Alandra continues to be the person you love to hate. I can’t wait for the next book.
First off, I loved this book so much. It was a roller coaster ride from start to finish.
This book picks up right where The Secret Heir left off. It takes off running and doesn’t stop.
So as not to give away anything, I’m just going to leave you with some words that describe this book:
Sacrifice
Powers
Friendships
Betrayals
Leadership
Death
Torture
Testing
Love
Family
Surprises
This is a fantastic book that leaves you wanting book 4 (The Chosen One) pronto!
