This book was previously published as ‘WANTED’. While the story remains the same, this is the correct title and cover: ‘THE WANTED COWBOY’. The author apologizes for any inconvenience.
Her chest was rising and falling with her heavy breaths, her heart was hammering, and she was fighting a torrent of tears.
“Like I said,” she snapped, “what is there to explain?”
“You need a spankin’,” … need a spankin’,” he said solemnly, “a real good spankin’.”
“What?” she exclaimed. “What kind of a thing is that to say to me right now?”
LUKE LARSON is desperate, a wanted man on the run.
HAVING escaped from the penitentiary after being convicted of a crime he didn’t commit, he risks returning home to clear his name and win back the trust and love of Tess Turner, the woman he left behind, the woman who consumed his thoughts every day of his imprisonment.
TESS TURNER is an independent spirit, a feisty woman with a mind of her own and a penchant for taking risks. Believing the handsome cowboy is behind bars and far away, she is shocked when late one blustery night he sweeps into her cafe.
HIS deeply troubled eyes capture hers with their steady, impenetrable gaze, and she finds herself breathless, unable to speak or move, and she is faced with a dreadful decision; help him, or call her brother, the Deputy Sheriff, and turn him in.
WANTED will keep you wanting more, and hold you in its grip as surely as Luke’s large hand grips Tess. Well-deserved spankings and wicked tumbling between the sheets fills the pages of this deliciously hot jaunt, and introduces a new hero into the Western Erotic Romance Genre; sexy spanking cowboy, Luke Larson.

What an exhilarating read. Luke and Tess had just started to build a relationship when Luke was set up for a murder he didn’t commit. When he breaks out of prison in order to clear his name he immediately goes to Tess trying to explain what happened and enlist her help. Tess is torn between your mind that shows her the evidence and her heart that believes Luke is innocent. The twists and turns of the case kept me turning pages to find out who the culprit was. What a shocker that one was!! And then there is Dwayne, the almost simple deputy who seems to have more common sense than most of the town. Have I mentioned that Tess is truly a stubborn woman who wants to do what she thinks is best rather than listen to a very dominant Luke who has no problem turning her over his knee in order to keep her safe? Yeah, that chemistry literally jumps off the pages. This is the first book in the “Cowboys After Dark” series I’ve read but trust me when I say, I intend to backtrack and read the previous four books of the series. It’s that good.
Sweet and sexy read
—>>> Luke gets a second chance with his girl when he breaks out of prison and heads back home to clear his name. Luckily, Tess is willing to listen and help, but things take twists and turns no one expected. Sweet and sexy read, with help also coming from unexpected places.
Luke was in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. When he escapes, the first place he goes is Tess’s cafe. Her brother (Dudley Do Right) heads there also, knowing full well that she’s the first person Luke will look for. Besides the steamy romance, this book is a good old-fashioned mystery. Luke’s friend, Robbie, is so loyal, and he, Dwayne, Tess and Luke band together to figure out who framed Luke and why. I just love Tess. She’s sassy and spoiled – her dad never told her no, and she’s a bit of a brat. Luke intends to tame her, over his knee if necessary. He’s hot and hunky, and in love with Tess. It’s funny that they keep sending her brother to Longville to look for Luke. This book is a must-read for an entertaining afternoon.

No one can tell a cowboy spanking story like Ms. Carpenter. She can breathe a story to life and add a tinge of the wild side.
I read and reviewed a copy of this book.
A suspenseful story with a love story at the heart of it all. I liked the intense feeling I felt as I read this book. The story moved at a fast clip and held my attention from the beginning. The storyline was interesting and had a bit of mystery woven into what I thought was the main story – a second chance at love. I liked the cast of characters who were interesting on their own. She was feisty, stubborn and loyal. A good solid story that I enjoyed reading.
I requested this book from the author so I might provide an honest review.
There is a pretty decent mystery hiding in this spanking romance. Luke returns to town as a fugitive to figure out who framed him, and at the same time he reestablished his relationship with Tess.
There were some interesting twists and turns on the path to discovering who framed Luke. Tess, of course, had to do her own investigating against Luke’s wishes.
With unexpected allies, friends, and a hint of danger this was an enjoyable read resulting in Like and Tess’ HEA.

Figuring out who really committed a crime so Luke can be exonerated is the priority. Tess would make things easier if she jut did why she was supposed to and she is very irresponsible as a business owner. Some domestic discipline (mostly spanking). Robbie and Dwayne are the sweetest guys. Really like the ending.
