A wonderful story full of life lessons of love, devotion and making the best and surpassing circumstances. Part of the Window to the Heart Sage, this story finds Debby and William traveling to England from America. William is summoned home upon the illness and eventual passing of his father and brother and inherits the viscountship. Unprepared and feeling at a loss, William is overwhelmed with his new responsibilities and Debby finds herself in a totally new world. As they navigate their new circumstances, it is wonderful to see how they manage to maintain their christian beliefs and deal with the trying times. You will fall in love with this pair and feel the romance and devotion they have with each other. Another will written christian historical romance by Jenna Brandt.
The Viscount’s Wife by Jenna Brandt is an interesting example of the difference between British and American customs in the Nineteenth century. When a member of the Aristocracy of Britain leaves his roots and lives in the United States for 10 years, marries an American woman and then is required to return home to Great Britain, it is evident that his new bride has not been accepted by his mother. William attends to his “duties” as required by his newly acquired title, but his widowed mother is not willing to accept his choice for a wife. She feels that his wife is not good enough for the social standing of the title.
There is a lot of tension and friction as a result of this lack of acceptance and the overall feeling of the book is full of deceit and cunning on the mother’s part. She is not a nice person. Debbey is a kind, loving and forgiving person who deserves better treatment.
I found the book to be interesting in that it depicts the differences in the two cultures. The plot and the characters are well developed.
The Viscount’s Wife is a wonderful sweet and clean historical romance. William and Debbey face difficult changes in their lives. They must rely on faith and love for each other to guide them in making the right decisions. It is a wonderfully written romance with just the right amount of mystery, suspense and drama. I really enjoyed reading.

Wow! This lady can write!
I loved this story and everything about the characters – the good ones and the bad ones, the plot and the pure conniving and evilness of the mother-in-law and the faith guiding these two people’s lives and helping to strengthen what they shared.
The book is very quick to read. It is part of an engrossing series and is definitely a stand alone even though some of the characters were made known to us in previous episodes.
I am extremely happy to recommend it as I am sure that if this is your genre, you will love it too.
I voluntarily read a free advance copy of this book and the above is my unbiased review.
