Enjoy the laugh-out-loud first book in USA Today bestselling author Erica Ridley’s new Dukes of War regency romance series! Certain individuals might consider Lady Amelia Pembroke a managing sort of female, but truly, most people would be lost without her help. Why, the latest on-dit is that rakish Viscount Sheffield is canceling the fete of the year because he hasn’t time for silly soirees. He … he hasn’t time for silly soirees. He doesn’t need time — he needs her!
When a flash of lightning destroys the venue for his family’s annual Christmas ball, Lord Benedict Sheffield intends to enjoy a relaxing holiday for once. But after twelve days of beguiling Lady Amelia’s guerrilla tactics, he’s up to his cravat with tinsel… and tumbling head over heels in love.

In a word: adorable! I loved Lady Amelia’s rational thinking and determination to shape her future according to what she thought was best as well as his way of allowing himself to be persuaded to host the ball. She and Viscount Sheffield had wonderful chemistry, and this story reminded me so much of the phrase, ‘Life is what happens when you’re …
What a lovely novella! I absolutely loved the characters and the plot.
Lady Amelia Pembroke has decided she needs a husband. Efficient and practical to the core, she has decided to make her selection of candidates using Debrett’s, But of course, she will need to meet with her potential husbands in person. What better place to do so than at the …
I really enjoyed this book & I know will too. Our heroine, Lady Amelia Pembroke is so organized with everything she does & in the way her life will move forward. Now, she has to marry in order for her brother to find a wife & she is not ruled by love/passion so the task should be an easy one. Amelia’s next project is to organize the annual …
Lady Amelia Pembroke is the most organized, managing woman ever, but when she offers to help Viscount Sheffield find a new venue for his annual Christmas ball after his ballroom is burned (for her own reasons of course), he’s sure he can put her off and go back to his busy life. Little does he know that she has an answer to any objections he might …
These characters were among the most organized folk one could possibly imagine – definitely too good to be true! The interplay between the characters kept the pages flying.
It’s been a long time that I didn’t enjoy a book so much. If I could find it in print at the bookstores I frequent, it would already be in my collection. So much fun to read. Thank you for allowing me to ‘buy’ it.
Love, love, love this fun Regency romantic comedy!!!!
Lady Amelia Pembroke can arrange anything and will, if you will just let her (and even if you won’t). When she decides that she is ready to marry (and plans to choose the lucky man at the Sheffield’s 75th Annual Christmas Ball) she is stunned to learn the ball has been cancelled, and the host, …
This quick and witty novella is written in third person from a dual POV. Lady Amelia is one of the most intelligent, witty, and organized heroines I have ever read. I love how she brings Lord Sheffield around while falling head over heels for him without it being part of her plan. I love how Lord Sheffield is the perfect match for the Lady …
Very cute short story. The only thing wrong was the length. It was completely smooth sailing from intro to conclusion. But a couple of bumps would have been okay to stretch everything out to a full length novel. Loved the characters, pacing, and premise would love to read the rest of the series.
I imagine that this novel puts into words what any person feels when he or she gets steamrolled into doing something. Amelia is astonishingly competent at arranging everything around her. I loved how she swept Benedict off his feet and off his restrictive schedule. Admittedly, I did not expect her to make it her mission to introduce Benedict to …
A hilarious novella with an ultra managing lady and a devil-may-care viscount.
This Novella is Absolutely Wonderful.
Amelia & Benedict St. John are wonderful Characters.
Plan on pasting a cheesy grin on your face because you will truly enjoy this Book.
Erica Ridley has such a witty style to her writing. Her characters are vibrant and I often find that I’m laughing my way through the whole book. This one is no exception. Amelia’s ability to manage any situation makes her exceptional, and I’d love to be as efficient as her!
Pure enjoyment
You will love the characters and laugh till your tummy hurts. And a happily ever after, what more can make the best story?
The Viscount’s Christmas Temptation, by Erica Ridley, is also known as The Viscount’s Tempting Minx. Published in 2014, I have no idea why the name change. The book is available under both names. Temptation is the first book in a new series, The Dukes Of War, referring to a group of titled friends. It’s a short but sweet story about 2 tidy, …
This book grabbed my attention from the get go and never let go. I didn’t want the story to end, it was so good. It was short and clean.
What a delightful romance!
Amelia and Benedict are truly well-matched, a fact that becomes quite evident as they work together to find a last-minute replacement venue for his family’s annual Christmas Eve ball. I absolutely loved the banter between these two, the clever steps that Amelia takes to bring Benedict into agreement with her, and the …
Loved it.
The heroine pushes her way into the hero’s life but clearly he needed her! Truly fun romp!
