Enjoyable book. A real page turned. Just when they thought they had figured out what really happened to the 1st Lord Patton and found the killer, someone comes up with the true killer.
I don’t go into detail of the book as you have already read the authors blurb on it. Just telling my thoughts.
I recommend this book as I think you will enjoy the twists and turns that the author leads you on.
Joseph never expected to be recalled from the military to take the title of Viscount Patton. No only did his wastrel brother’s death bring him a title, but also a mountain of debt. When Lord Fernley visits and tells him that he’s sure Joseph’s brother was murdered, it’s one more thing piled on a mountain of overwhelming problems left for Joseph to deal with.
Lady Hannah is living with her Aunt as her companion in London after being thrown out of her family home for refusing her brother’s demand for her to marry Lord Walton. She is independently wealthy and renting Joseph’s townhome. They meet when he visits to tell her that she will need to relocate at the end of her lease. As their relationship develops, so do more problems. Will they be able to work through their differences, his debt, her unwillingness to marry someone after her fortune, and solving the murder?
And what’s going on with her Aunt and his newly found friend, Lord Fernley?
