Five years ago Lord Hector Guthrie left London under a cloud of shame and disgrace. Now he’s back in town. However, his best friend is asking him to do something that may just put his heart at risk again.
As Baron Musgrove’s daughter, Miss Sophia Newton is in London for her first season. It’s her year to shine, and possibly make a good match. There is just one problem…she can’t get Lord Guthrie out of her thoughts.
The Viscount Forgotten by Emma Evans is a well written, sweet and clean historical romance. This stand-alone novella has a simple story with likable characters. The moral message speaks to the absolute necessity of being honest in a romantic relationship, as well as a friendship. The HEA was tender and sweet, but I wish there had been an epilogue.
The Viscount Forgotten is book three in the Lords of London series by Emma Evans. Sophia Newton’s new chaperone is a man she considered a friend. But when Lord Hector Guthrie turns into a quiet taciturn companion, Sophia is forced to break through his walls. Uncovering a dark secret that Lord Guthrie holds, Sophia is challenged in their friendship. Can she remain with the reclusive Lord Guthrie once she uncovers his scandalous secret? Or will the scandal of his past tear them apart.
Very well written romance. Can’t wait for more.

The third book in the Lords of London series it has drama, suspense, a villain and a Lord with a past he is not proud of. This is Lord Hector Guthrie and Miss Sophia Newton’s story it is a well-written book that I enjoyed reading. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Sophie has been thrust on Hector Guthrie as his charge for the remainder of the season. He has a dark past and Sophie just wants to have fun. She thought they were friends but he isn’t very nice to her and she believes she is an intrusion. He’s abrupt because he doesn’t want his scandalous past to impact her. I loved this because this was a twist on the traditional regency. Sophie also had a mind and heart and used them. She also had common sense and was one of the most delightful regency heroines I’ve seen in the long time. Highly recommended. If you’ve read the previous books in the series you’ll also get a visit from characters from previous books but this will stand-alone. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).
This is an amusing and interesting story. Guthrie is determined, resigned and not happy. Sophia is friendly, outgoing and bold. Guthrie had developed feelings for Sophia, but didn’t want to do anything about it. Until his friend badgers him into being her chaperone, and a man from his past appears. Drama and anger bring things to a head, and force Guthrie to confront his feelings.
