A virgin, an athlete, a fake romance, and only one bed in the hotel room.Following rules shot me to the top of my game as an all-star baseball player, and the golden rule is this — don’t hookup with your teammate’s sister. But ask her to be your fake date when you desperately need one for a family wedding? Nothing in the guy code against that. Plus, the flirty, feisty Sierra’s my friend too, so … my friend too, so why the hell not pretend we’re madly in lust for two days in Hawaii?
No hardship in a make believe kiss here, a fake smooch there, as long as we don’t cross any dangerous lines.
Then, the hotel books us into the same suite. Which means she’s showering near me, putting on itty bitty bikinis in the same room, sliding into that king-size bed wearing only a black lace cami.
But I resist…until the night she tells me she’s been waiting for me to be her first. And there’s nothing fake about my desire to say yes, even though that’s definitely against the code. But, maybe only if someone catches feelings? And neither one of us will.
Until I do…

I absolutely loved Sierra and Chance’s story. Chance was definitely a man who felt a need to not cross the line with the sister of one of his team mates but at the same time he can’t ignore the attraction he has for Sierra. He can’t seem to stop himself from flirting every time he enters her bar. Sierra also has a plan she wants to stick to. She doesn’t want to be like her parents. She wants to succeed in business, not rely on others for her success and guard her heart. She has seen what happened with her parents and she wants to be different in all things. The two can’t seem to avoid the growing feelings they have for one another and when they both attend the wedding of mutual friends they decide to go as each others date. One thing leads to another and the two decide to take their friendship one step further. Soon they can’t seem to see themselves as just friends once they return from the wedding. This was such a good book and I enjoyed the interaction with between Sierra and her brother. Who doesn’t think there needs to be a bro code Chance needs to adhere. I love how is supportive of Sierra nd Chance being together. I loved the HEA. Cannot wait for the next book in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Chance and Sierra, a couple meant to be! He’s a star closing pitcher and she is the owner of a bar. They have chemistry, but won’t act on any of it. Because Sierra’s brother is friends with Chance and there’s a bro code that Chance takes seriously!
Chance needs a date for a wedding and of course, his go to person is Sierra. They decide that a fake date is the best option because Chance’s ex will be there. He was married for 10 years and although it’s been final for a bit, he doesn’t want anyone feeling sorry for him in thinking he isn’t over her…which is totally is!
What could go wrong, right?! I guess actually nothing goes wrong, it just goes as it’s suppose to and thank goodness that is a very happy ending!
I loved Chance so much! He was an all around great guy, and was perfect for Sierra!!
One destination wedding is all it took for all the rules to get broken
The Virgin Replay is the third book in the Rules of Love series and is the story of Chance Ashford and Sierra Blackwood. This is a friend’s sister/brother’s best friend story that is sweet, romantic, has some drama, and will put a smile on your face and make your heart beat faster. Chance is the star pitcher for the San Fransisco Cougars but just cannot find the right woman even though he wants to. Sierra owns The Spotted Zebra, a successful bar in San Francisco. The thing is that both of them are really attracted, both physically and other ways, to each other ever since they first met. Chance knows that Sierra is in the “no go zone” so he never pursues anything. But when he is in need of a date for a destination wedding he turns to the woman who has become a close friend. Sierra says yes as she is more than willing to help Chance deal with his ex, who is a horrible person, and also his meddling family. Once they are in the beautiful and warm paradise the rules go flying out the window as the clothes get dropped….let the fun begin.
The Virgin Replay had all the things I love about Lauren Blakely romances: witty flirty banter between two insanely likable characters. Their story was fun and delightful and swoony and left me with a smile on my face. I love how Blakely always weaves familiar places and people into her books- it makes being a super-fan so rewarding. This book has sizzling chemistry and so many heartfelt moments- it was a fantastic read!
The Virgin Replay: Rules of Love, Book 3-Lauren Blakey
This is the third book in the “virgin” series by Lauren Blakey. Normally I don’t really relate to virgin MFC but this book was feel good all the way through.
Chance is a divorced Major League Baseball player who is very rules oriented, including not dating your teammate’s sister. He is friendly with his teammate’s sister who owns a local bar that he frequents. He secretly has attraction for the owner of the bar, Sierra, who is off limits due to bro-code. He and Sierra have a flirty/friendly relationship .
Sierra has the “feels” for Chance and even invents a new cocktail due to their “chemistry”. She is a go getter who is serious about her business and when an opportunity comes to go to a wedding in Hawaii as Chance’s “fake” date she decides to forge ahead.
The hotel in Hawaii ends up putting Chance and Sierra in the same room and temptation in paradise becomes too much to stop the fire between them. This friends to lovers HEA was delightful, sexy, romantic , set in an awesome location,Hawaii. The characters both have to work through their own issues and breaking some rules as they go on their journey to each other.
The Virgin Replay is the third book in the Rules of Love series by Lauren Blakely. This series is so freaking good! We have already fallen in love with Chance and Sierra throughout the series, and now we get to watch them fall for each other! Ever since Chance became single, there has been a sizzling attraction between them. He goes to her bar with his teammates, but sits at the bar and chats with her. But she’s totally off limits because she’s his teammate’s sister and he’s not willing to risk ruining his relationship with Grant, Sierra’s brother. Chance is a good guy and he likes to follow the rules and do the right thing. Sierra is a temptation he’s willing to bend the rules for. He needs a date to his cousin’s wedding, a fake date of course. And it turns out Sierra also has something she wants Chance for. She doesn’t have time for relationships, she’s too busy making her business the best it can be. Sometime in the Hawaiian sun, things stop being fake but are still only going to be temporary. Even though they both want more, neither one is going to admit it. And then it’s time to put all feelings on the table and take a gamble on love. Oh man! I love this forbidden, friend’s sister love story! It’s sexy, sweet, fun and addicting! We get to see all our faves and I love every minute I get to spend with Chance and his friends and teammates!
Like I’m used to from Laurens books, this one is sexy, steamy, romantic, funny and easy to read. You just don’t want to stop.
The characters are so easy to fall for and I can’t wait to read TJ’s story.
This was the complete opposite of what I was expecting for a virgin trope and it was AWESOME!
Sierra is Grant’s younger sister (Men of Summer) and Chase, who is Grant’s team mate and recently divorced. They both harbour a crush on one another but make excuses of why they shouldn’t act on their crush: work, bro-code, parents, divorces, etc.
When Chase needs a date to a wedding where his ex wife is attending, he calls in for a favour with Sierra.. who also wants a favour from Chase… to lose her v-card! From Hawaii to Vegas, will the wild chemistry go from fake to real?!
Chase is incredibly loyal, I adored him so much, and you could tell how much he valued and cared for his friends and family members.
Sierra was a kickass heroine. Independent, sassy and has a killer taste in lingerie.
Their chemistry was incredible, it was a really light pleasurable read with steam and humour. It was low angst given the ‘forbidden’ trope which was nice!
Whilst it’s book 3 in the Rules of Love series it can be read as a standalone.
I’m so excited for TJ’s book!!

This story moves from friends to lovers quick and I loved it. How can anyone resist Chance or Sierra for that matter. Close proximity can do that to a person. I loved their friendship and their banter. The chemistry was fire and I couldn’t put this down.
I’ve been looking forward to Sierra and Chance’s story and it was everything I was hoping it would be. I absolutely loved the two of them together. The two of them had an undeniable chemistry. Once they gave in they didn’t stand a chance and I knew it was going to be fire.
This may be one of my favorite books in this series. I am in love with Sierra. The woman breaths confidence. She is so empowering. She knows what she wants and she isn’t afraid to say it. Chance is one of my favorites also. He is so humble and dedicated. An all around loyal, honest and good man with a very dirty mouth. Sierra and Chance were perfect for each other.
The Virgin Replay had a lot of my favorite tropes in one hot story. We get brother’s friend/teammate, friends to lovers, fake date, fake relationship, vegas impulse wedding, sports romance, virgin heroine – and much more. I both read and listened to the audio book which is narrated by Vanessa Edwin and Teddy Hamilton, who both did a fantastic job bringing so much life and emotion into Sierra and Chance’s characters.
I always say that Lauren Blakely is a writing genius. Sierra is by far one of my favorite Virgin heroines. I think sometimes when people think about a virgin heroine they think of someone completely inexperienced and shy; but that wasn’t the case with Sierra’s character. I loved the way Lauren portrayed Sierra’s character because not every virgin is shy. Sierra was a virgin by choice. She held off because of her experiences growing up, but it didn’t mean she didn’t understand pleasure. She explored her likes and fantasies. She experienced with herself learning her own body. Just because she was a virgin it didn’t mean she didn’t know what she liked and she found herself the perfect man to explore it all with. It made for some really burning passion. This book was hot.
Such a sweet and lighthearted story that made me want more and more of Chance and Sierra’s. These two are the perfect counterpart for each other even though they aren’t looking for much outside a “favor” Sierra wants and Chance is worried about the fallout but the more he’s around her the less he cares.
This book was a sexy and steamy friends to lovers romance. This was my first book in the rules of love series but now I am excited to go back and read the others.
This book brings together an athlete and a virgin. Chance had recently gone through a messy divorce and needed someone to take to a wedding where his ex wife and her new man would be. All his family would also be there and ask questions about how he was doing. He didn’t realize till he was around Sierra just how GOOD he truly was doing.
Sierra has been burned in the past and with her parents not really raising her and being difficult influences in her life she has strict goals for herself, which caused her to save her virginity for a long time. When she was finally ready to use it she just never found someone she was ready to till Chance started coming to her bar.
They both agreed they weren’t looking for anything more than just sex. But was that true?
I loved how much of a hidden vulnerability Sierra had, she has this tough exterior but she is truly a workaholic. This couple built a great friendship with trust and understanding which leads to a solid foundation of a relationship. Their friendship was so fun and flirty with so much angst and chemistry.
Lauren Blakelys romances have a great level of maturity which was prevalent in this story. I loved how they had both been through so much but knew exactly what they wanted and didn’t play games with each other. Another Lauren Blakely book that was a home run in my bookshelf.
In my month of angsty re-reads, I loved being surprised with a Lauren Blakely new release. Her books are my go-to when I am in the mood for easy romances with no excess drama and I am loving her books about the players of the San Francisco Cougars and Dragons. Chance and Sierra make a deal to be each other’s fake date to a wedding so Chance can avoid all the sympathetic comments and questions regarding his recent divorce. I love the fake relationship trope, its so reliable… you know the couple will turn into a real relationship but the banter and journey is usually so entertaining. Chance and Sierra’s chemistry is great and the flirting is non-stop but they both have reasons for not wanting anything serious to come from this. I love that while they both fight falling, the struggle only lasts for a couple days before they are both all in!
4.5
Chance and Sierra sure have ‘wild chemistry’! They have great flirty banter and I enjoyed them both try to deal with it. I really enjoyed their fake wedding date rouse and trying to deal with their strong connection. I loved seeing them start to fall for one another and try to find what they really want. Chance is a really good guy and wants to be the best teammate and still find his happiness. Sierra works herself so hard to reach her goals, but she knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to ask for it. I love these two together and their story is sexy and cute wrapped in one. There was even a good curve ball thrown in I didn’t see coming. Great love story for these two!
This book was a light read with not too much angst and just fun, vacation virgin romance. Chance ended his marriage a year ago after finding out she was cheating. Now he is infatuated with his teammate’s sister which is a hard rule for him. His heart isn’t ready for a relationship, but when he finds out that Sierra isn’t ready for a relationship either he convinces himself that it would be okay for them to have a fling. Sierra has loved the time they spent together at her bar and she decided that she wants Chance to take her virginity. A wedding in Hawaii brings them together as fake dates but how quickly can they go from fake dating to real dating?
Chance and Sierra fall for each other and it is “insta-love”. Chance and Sierra shared as much of a personal connection and they did physical. Chance gives Sierra the first time that she wanted and every time after that was just sizzling with its heat. I loved witnessing them falling in love with each other but also having to come to terms with it and accept and embrace it. They will have to admit their feelings sooner than they expected when they find themselves in an awkward situation.
Chance Ashford is the closing Pitcher for the San Francisco Cougars baseball team. He has been single for a year now after a public divorce on social media. Chance has become very close with Sierra Blackwood the owner of a successful bar The Spotted Zebra. Sierra is the sister to Grant who is Chance’s teammate and friend. Chance is worried about breaking any “codes” pursuing Sierra but, finds a loophole when he needs a “fake date” for a cousins wedding in Hawaii. A mutual understanding between them quickly begins to feel like more when they have such a strong and wild connection with incredible chemistry together. Another fun and sexy read. I cannot wait to read more about other teammates, friends and family.
I received an ARC for this book and this is my review.
Once again Lauren Blakely delivers a fantastic story that continues to make me fall in love with her words and her characters. This was a beautiful love story that had been building for some time. Long before the fake date proposal. We’ve seen both of these characters in previous books and I was very interested in who they would end up with.
Chance and Sierra were totally ment for each other. They are fun, flirty and you can see chemistry from the very first page of this book. I laughed loads reading this book. But I also got to see the other sides of both these characters, they were definitely fearful of heartbreak, caused by their pasts. But open to change.
I totally recommend this book and all the other books in this world. You can never go wrong when you pick up a book by this author.
Reviewer: Donna
Chance is attracted to Sierra… Grants sister. He’s been divorced for a year, and his ex used her social media to say it was his fault. He’s a good man and he let her have her say without saying anything in his defense. Now, his friends are getting married, and Chances ex will be there. He asks Sierra to be his “pretend” date for the wedding. His bro-code won’t allow more than that.
Sierra is, wildly attracted to Chance, and she wants him to take her “V-card”. She’s going to ask him for this favor… until he proposes the “pretend” status for the wedding. Their discussions on the plane as they travel to the wedding, as well as the circumstances they find themselves in after they arrive, make her change her mind.
This book is a true Lauren Blakely treasure! It digs deep into The Who and why of Chance and Sierra until it gets to the very heart of them. It’s a must read… but, who am I kidding… every book Lauren Blakely writes is a must read… am I right!?
5 Star review The Virgin Replay (Rules of Love #3) by Lauren Blakely
The third book in the Rules of Love series and it was just as entertaining and engaging as the other books. This is my favourite book in the series to date. I absolutely adored Chance and Sierra and they are perfect for one another. Chance has had feelings for Sierra for quite some time but it would go against the “bro Code” to date her as she is the sister of his teammate Grant. .
There was so much heart in this book along with steam that you cannot help but fall for these characters. There was nothing I did not like about this book. I have anew book boyfriend, I fell hard and fast for Chance, such a swoon worthy man, he ticked all the boxes for me.
Both the main characters of Chance and Sierra were likeable, engaging and easy to relate too, add in a cast of secondary characters who were also fun and entertaining and you are in for a wonderful read.
