This book is a standalone pitch-dark romance with a paranormal twist and not suited for minors.

This is my first time reading this author and I found this to be a dark but entertaining read. There are possible triggers due to domestic abuse. Both main characters are strong in their won way and are drawn to each other as the plot progresses. I’m definitely looking forward to book 2.

I so do love a good antihero story, even better when it is deliciously dark and twisted. This one has lots of blood and mayhem, vengeance and murder, along with lust. It’s beautiful in that two jagged and broken people – one brutal and harsh, the other hurt and abused, find that though the world may continue to fight against them together they are stronger; they fit.
This well written story gripped me from the very beginning with characters that were so well developed that Kain and Alana kept me totally engaged throughout the entire book!
Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. This story of Cain and Alana was great. From the start this book had you hooked from the start. The twists and turns with emotions that makes you feel you need more.

My first book by this author and I’ll be back for more! In a world where super heroes and villains collide, Alana Miles is running from her own type of villain her ex Tommy, having tried to leave once already that ended with her being beaten, she couldn’t go to the cops as Tommy was one and superheroes had no time for domestic abuse victims, Alana had to go it alone. When an ad caught her eye for a house sitter and from their her plan for freedom started to become a reality, that is until an old house sitter arrives. Cain was a villan and he was injured so needed to lay low and what better place than his old hideout though it turn out it’s already occupied. At first Alana though Tommy had found her when a hand clasps around her throat but instead she finds herself tasked with pulling shrapnel out of a superhuman! Alana soon realised Cain was more monster than anything having killed 3 security men doing their jobs and taking her after, though her body betrayed her mind with every touch, she learned he was the villan of her childhood nightmares the Gray, who killed so many innocent people. But here he was claiming her as his own, telling her he would protect her, words she had heard so many times before would this time be any different? Was this all a coincidence them meeting or are there higher forces at work trying to get what they want from the supe. Well written with a good story line thats has action, violence, suspense, twist and turns, desire, sci-fi and romance.

holy crap! absolutely loved this! great freaking story! i think this is my first book from this author and wow am i happy that i found this book! thrilling, full of action, unpredictable, and so hot and steamy. i wish this was a longer story because i just wanted to keep reading on and on about it.
only downer for me was that i was hoping to read more about the commander. i feel like there should have been something more into the story and epilogue but this did not lessen my love for the book. again, LOVED it. its been a while since ive read a story that gave me a book hangover afterwards
Freaking loved this book!
Oh man. I had loved the blurb to this but kept putting it off. I regret my decision this book was dark, twisted and amazing. I couldn’t put it down. Psychopath superman was insane and I kept thinking why do I like it so much and what the hell is wrong with me. lol. This story was messed up in the best way possible. The ending was perfect but kinda hope D.S. Wright’s writes another one I loved these characters and I kinda want to know what happens.
If you have triggers don’t even try to read this but if you’re like me with no triggers you need to check this book out.
A great book. Written very well, very descriptive, the characters are well developed and you will come to care about the good and the bad characters in this story. Hoping there is a followup to this story!! There are a lot of triggers so you have a problem with violence this book isn’t for you.
A darker and unique romance mixed with paranormal
This was quite the dark and unique romance mixed with some paranormal read. I’m not quite sure what exactly I read because it was like nothing I have ever read before and I had to sit back and think on it. Two flawed, yet determined characters drawn to one another. Will their scars and traumas help or hinder their futures? You will certainly feel something while reading Alana and Cain’s story so buckle up.
Opening a book by D. S Wrights is like a Pandoras box.
You know opening it will get inside your head. Your emotions will seep out onto every page. Yet you can’t stop. Her books come to life in my head. Her female characters stronger they they first believe.
Cain and Alana. A story that not only gripped me it caused me to cheer at the vengeance on those who caused pain.
Can Alana get a chance of another life?
Will Cain be help her or leave?
Worth every star awarded.
