#1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts exposes a proud family’s deadly secrets in this passionate tale of two Napa Valley rivals…PR executive Sophia Giambelli loves her job and has never worried about competition. For three generations, her family’s wines have been world-renowned for their quality. But things are about to change at Villa Giambelli. Tereza, the matriarch, has … the matriarch, has announced a merger with the MacMillan family’s winery—and Sophia will be assuming a new role.
As a savvy businesswoman, Sophia knows she must be prepared for anything…but she isn’t prepared for Tyler MacMillan. They’ve been ordered to work together very closely, to facilitate the merger. Sophia must teach Ty the finer points of marketing—and Ty, in turn, shows her how to get down and dirty, to use the sun, rain, and earth to coax the sweetest grapes from the vineyard.
As they toil together, both in and out of the fields, Sophia is torn between a powerful attraction and a professional rivalry. At the end of the season, the course of the company’s future—and the legacy of the villa—may take an entirely new direction. And when acts of sabotage threaten both the family business and the family itself, Sophia’s quest will be not only for dominance, but also for survival.

I used to read–avidly!–any Nora Roberts book that came out. When I get home from spending a full day juggling people and problems, the LAST thing I want is a non-fiction or tension-filled fiction book; I want escape, I want romance, I want sexy characters and feel-good endings. Roberts’ books always worked. After a couple of dozen of them, though, they began to feel too predictable, and I finally found one that I couldn’t finish. About 3 years ago, this was. So… I bought The Villa just to see if it would reignite my interest, and it did. A totally different theme (not a blonde, a brunette and a redhead, and a trilogy so all 3 could fall in love), but still signature Nora Roberts, and thoroughly enjoyable. Little twists here and there helped keep me involved, too. All in all, I’m glad to be back in touch with an old friend.
Interesting story about three generations of women. A great, fun read.
Nora Roberts is always one of those authors that I always buy, her writing just gets better and better over all the years I have read her books. The Villa is one of my favorite books it has wine, romance and even a who did it. The storyy takes place in wine country, and the characters are all trying to find their way in life. The Giambelli Family are warm and fun to be with. I will tell you the end was a shocker.
The Villa is one of Nora Roberts’ romantic suspense books — this one set in a Napa, CA vineyard. The hero and heroine aren’t typical, with each having a set of issues they need to resolve before reaching their happily ever after. I especially liked the secondary romance between the heroine’s mother and a dashing single father with two children. If you love wine, you’ll find lots of interesting wine-growing information in this book, along with a villain or two or three.
Loved it
Typical Nora Roberts, delivered in all areas. A delightful way to spend an afternoon!
I enjoyed the story and being a part of this world. Great detail and setting.
Another wonderful book by Nora R
I love Nora Roberts, both as a kick-ass leader of the writing community and as a writer. In her lush, epic style, Nora tells the story of the daughter of a prestigious winemaking family and a compelling man who is thrust into her life.
As always, well written and well paced story. Nora Roberts never disappoints. Loved the story!
Wonderful story of family and what is a family. Love the story within the story for second love!
This book was nothing short of enchanting. A matriarch and the unpredictable, astounding twists and turns of a family business.
I’ve loved Nora’s books since I was a teenager, and she’s one of the authors who influenced me tremendously in my own writing career. I admire her ability to write in several genres and to draw the reader into the worlds she creates, whether it’s romance, thriller or police procedurals. Amazingly accomplished author!
I reread every Nora Roberts book. The Villa is one of my favorites
