Very fun read! Great heroine and hero- fantastic love story.
This book was just ok. There were a number of typos and a couple of plot inconsistencies. It was easy to read and I liked the concept of the story but some aspects were clearly not thoroughly thought through, and I don’t think the timeline of the relationship was entirely believable even considering there were supernatural forces at work. There was SO MUCH REPETITION about how evil the bad guy was and how he made the heroine’s skin crawl and made her nauseous etc.—I kept thinking WE GET IT! Also the level of evil of the bad guy was probably a bit too much to be entirely plausible. I’m not sure I’d read the rest in the series even if they were free (as this first installment was).
If you’re looking for a fun romance with a magical twist, then this is the book for you. But it’s not great if expecting for anything historically accurate. My biggest disappointment was the language used, a mix of modern and older words that the characters seemed to trip over.
The advertising was more enticing than the book itself. The situations were unbelievable for the period, and the characters acted and spoke more like 21st century teens.
There is nothing historically accurate about this book. It is pure fantasy.
I enjoyed this book as it has interesting characters and leaves you with a cliff hanger. It is a brisk, fun read, and while not an original concept, it does entertain and make you root for the characters.
There were numerous grammatical errors. The language did not fit the overall time period as well as various other historic inaccuracies. The characters started out in a well developing manner but as soon as they met, they both became ridiculous drooling children with such shallow thoughts. It felt so awkward to read and I had to force myself to finish it since I had been wanting to buy the book for close to a year! Very disappointing.
formulaic romance full of cliches. not an action or historical book. when did tea become the drink of choice in Britain? during the Viking Age? that was the last straw.
Can’t wait for the sequel!
I LOVED it and can’t wait to read the next one!
Loved this book! Great character development with deep emotions. The book ended fairly abruptly, leaving me wanting more. The sequel won’t be released for another several months–I’m eager to read it.
I really enjoyed this book! I could not stop reading! The characters are so amazing and the magic that the author incorporates into the book makes it so entertaining! Definitely recommend!
Find yourself immediately transported to days of old filled with Norsemen and royalty as this author casts her magical world building web and encases you until the last page. Filled with prophecy and delight to tantalize every one of your senses. From a madman to a beautiful princess this book will captivate readers of all ages. The only drawback is that we have to wait until November 2018 to continue this epic saga that will ooh and ahh you. -YA/NA Book Divas

An entertaining, engaging read I highly enjoyed
I’ve been on a bit of a Norse and Norse mythology kick recently, and I tend to like stories with a little mysticism mixed into the everyday world, so I found the blurb here intriguing. With a new-to-me author plus the fact that I don’t typically read books set in this time period, I wasn’t sure quite what I was getting into, but happily, there was a nice dose of humor throughout, which really lightened the story from the more dire tones I was half-expecting.
There were a lot of great characters here: Allete and her family (her sister Dayna was particularly entertaining), Torben, Brant and Torben’s mother, and of course, a couple of characters you love to hate. As a clean, YA novel this is low on the heat scale, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t feel the attraction between Allete and Torben. They’re both strong, intelligent people trying to do the right thing for the people they feel responsible for as well as trying to protect the people they love, all of which sometimes involves making hard choices.
With an underlying theme of good vs evil, I ended up approaching this story more as I would an epic fantasy rather than a true historical, so I didn’t worry too much about the occasional detail that didn’t seem to quite fit the time period (though, as I said, it’s not an era I’m overly familiar with). The set-up and world-building added a lot of tension and depth to the story, as there are a several different plot lines woven together and plenty of questions that need answering along the way.
With great characters, plenty of humor and romance, plus a good vs evil plot, this was an entertaining, engaging read I highly enjoyed and I can’t wait to see what happens next (yes, this is a cliffhanger with two more books planned to follow). 5 stars

Quinn does it again, folks! She knows how to bring out all of your emotions with her writing and she uses it to her advantage. I wasn’t actually sure how I’d feel about this one because it doesn’t have Decebel from the GWS or Dair from the DMS in it 😉 but it’s still incredible.
Keep up the great work, I love all your books 🙂
I personally did not care for this book. There were spelling errors and grammatical errors. Also, the story didn’t seem very well written or realistic.
GREAT Page turner! Couldn’t put it down! I may be old but I’m still young at heart and this was a GREAT read! Hope that I can afford to get the rest of the books soon so I can continue to read this wonderful author!
Love the way the author portrays the story on every page
This was easy to read, and would have been fun but I kept getting pulled out of the story by its appalling lack of proof reading. This really spoiled it for me and I could not lose myself between its pages at all.
Quinn Loftis will suck you down the rabbit hole and not let you go till the last page.
