Once I start a Tamara Leigh story, I never want it to end! Her characters are always so wonderful and her storylines are always excellent and never cookie cutter! I don’t usually gravitate towards medievals, but Ms. Leigh’s are absolutely must reads!
While this is a stand-a-lone story, Sir Durand is introduced to us in previous Age of Faith stories. He had a little redeeming that needed to be done and I’m here to tell you, he was redeemed perfectly! He is so honorable, loyal, and kind and I loved his and Beata’s story – every second of it! Beata is such a great character! She’s strong, defends those she loves, and always tries to do the right thing. I loved everything about this couple and this story!
I also really enjoyed catching up with the previous characters in this series. I’m looking forward to reading The Awakening next! Baron Soames is introduced to us in The Vexing and I am intrigued!
I absolutely adore Tamara Leigh novels! But this heroine was NOT my favorite and I found it very hard to cheer for her. But any Tamara Leigh books are worth a read!
I have really enjoyed all the books in this series. Tamara Leigh does a great job bringing the time period to life.
Sir Durand nearly took down Garr as my favorite character of this series. I love the journey he and Beatrix take together.
When the Queen tells you to marry someone you had better do it. Or was the Queen a lot more of a romantic than you thought. The vexing widow is instructed to return to her fathers house and marry a neighboring nobleman. Anything that can go wrong does of course. A real good read.
A beautiful story, well written, as is the usual for a Tamara Leigh book.
I enjoy medieval romances! Handsome knights and lovely ladies in distress set in vast kingdoms across England and France.
Lady Beata Fauvel can be quite vexing with her strong personality. She has been summoned home at her father’s request. Her journey is not without danger and trials.
Sir Durand Marshal serves his queen as penance for betrayal of the Wulfrith family. His road to redemption has been several years in the making.
I was immediately drawn into the story. The twists and turns kept me turning the pages. I loved watching Lady Beata and Sir Durand story unfold. I so appreciated the spiritual truths woven throughout. I did not want this story to end! I’m looking forward to the next installment in this series.
I recommend this book to those who enjoy medieval romance.
I borrowed a copy through Kindle Unlimited. All views expressed are my honest opinion.
I always look forward to Tamara Leigh’s books and I’m never disappointed. Great characters, and an endearing love story are her hallmarks. I also like the fact that they are a clean read. If you have not read any of Tamara’s books, you are missing out!
Finally the errant knight, Sir Durand Marshal, has his story and what an adventure it is! The exuberant Lady Beata is vexing, but her turbulent situation reveals the torment of her soul as her family and the monarchs of England determine her fate. For Sir Durand the temptation to spirit the lady away is strong, but what of the honor he has worked so hard to regain through repentance and service to God and Queen? Certes! It is a very vexing situation, but one with a little twist and touching happily ever after. A satisfying story and a series I hope will continue!
