James O’Malley is hot.Built like a lumberjack with a beard to match, I can’t take my eyes off him.I really should be able to, considering we had the very worst sex of my life six months ago. But he won’t stop looking at me with his broody, soulful gaze every time I take a seat at his bar and I’m quickly becoming addicted to it.When he looks at me like that, I think maybe I should throw out all my … maybe I should throw out all my rules and give him a second chance to become the very best.
James doesn’t just want a second chance; he wants all of me, and he won’t settle for any less.
I have to decide if I can open myself up to a man whose code I can’t quite crack. Because he might want all of me, but I’m not sure he’s willing to give me the same.
The Very Worst is a sexy and funny second chance romance with a broody, introverted hero who goes from the worst to the best and a sassy, dancer heroine. It can be read as a standalone!
(The Very Worst was originally titled Cut Loose. Now with new content for 2020!)

I definitely recommend this book. I usually don’t like to read books out of order, but this was very easily read as a stand alone. I am definitely going to go back and read books 1 and 2.
Francisca is a fun independent woman with the hots for a big bearded man, but she never plans to settle down. James is a young shy guy that only has eyes for one beautiful dancer. Will opposites attract? Oh yeah! But will they work out?… read to find out!
Great writing Julia Wolf!
I enjoyed reading Cut Loose. It was well wrote and had wonderful characters and a great storyline. I wish there were more guys like James in the world. He was sweet, funny and down to earth. This book made me laugh, cry and laugh some more. I would like to read the other books in this series or something more by this author. Definitely worth reading. You wont be disappointed.
While reading Cut Loose, I was totally invested in the story line, and I felt everything a person in a relationship could possibly feel. Frannie is a modern single woman living her life as she sees fit, until she runs into James, a man she can’t figure out, yet can’t leave alone either. Their interactions with each other, along with the wonderfully supportive women and men in their lives, took my emotions on a rollercoaster ride that left me smiling in the end. A Five Star read you don’t want to miss.
I absolutely loved the 3rd book in this series. Opposites attract. James was sweet and unassuming, and Frannie was the beautiful spitfire that couldn’t be tamed. Together they complimented each other so well and their love story was so sweet and perfect.
Cute book. Was steamy at times but still had an interesting plot line. Enjoyed the characters and was easily able to become immersed in their lives.
I really loved Frannie and James’ story. They were a great fit for each other. The previous book in the series left me wanting to know more about fun, carefree Frannie, and I loved her character. She’s strong, but tends to push away relationships, and I like how James wasn’t her “type,” but they had strong chemistry. James was definitely not what I was expecting, either. This was a fun read.
A fun easy read with a quiet bartender and a big mouth dancer. James and Fran’s story is an unexpected one. I love the way it evolved and all worked out in the end. Another winner for Julia Wolf!!
Cut Loose is the first book I have read by Julia. It is an amazing story of love and friendship and the journey that life takes you on.
This book is Frannies story and how a horrible one night encounter can lead to something more if you let it. James is a bartender at the Bar Royal and there has been chemistry between the two since they first met. Even though the night of sexy times didn’t go as planned there is something that continues to draw these two towards one another.
I couldn’t put the book down, I had to find out what happened next. There are some tense and sad moments. Frannies friends rally around her and are there for her when she needs it, they are also there to kick her in the butt when she needs a reality check.
It is a wonderful story and a great continuation from book one (Rachels story). I love this series and I love having all the storylines continue with one another, we meet new people along the way as well.
I read the books out of order, which I don’t usually like to do, but I wasn’t lost. The first book, Cut Short, is Rachels story and that leads us into Cut Loose.
Fun easy read, this author’s writing style makes it so easy to get into her characters and story line. Great way to spend a few hours.
Wow!! Another Outstanding book by Julia Wolf!!! CUT LOOSE is a funny, entertaining & endearing story about finding love and not afraid of giving up. Fannie is a Head Strong woman and not afraid to Speak her mind with a mind-set of most men of getting from what she wants from them & nothing else! James is a shy younger but a quick learner and willing to satisfy FRANNIE in Any Way!! I Love the Dual POV so you get to be inside both of their minds to know what they are thinking. CUT LOOSE is such an intriguing fun read and you do not want to put it down! Not to mention the Hot Steamy off the Charts Chemistry between them which didn’t really start out at first but definitely heats up! A MUST READ BOOK AND CANNOT WAIT FOR MORE FROM JULIA WOLF!!
Once again, Julia Wolf did not disappoint. I loved this book. I fell in love with both of the characters. I laughed & cried. Mostly laughed. I loved how Frannie was able to bring James out of his comfort zone. He was so quiet and sweet. I definitely recommend reading this book, if you haven’t.
This was a really slow burn read. I really did enjoy it but there were parts that were really slow. James and Frankie sure did take their time getting together. I also enjoyed Frannie’s interaction with her friends. Especially Laurel. They cracked me up.
I loved Frannie and James’ characters separately, but I love them more together. Even though they shared a night she could easily forget months ago, she can’t stop wondering about the sexy bearded bartender who won’t leave her thoughts. He’s mesmerizing and intoxicating. James is considerate and supportive and even more protective of Frannie. My heart fell in love with James. He’s the perfect book boyfriend. Frannie has the best friends a girl could ask for and they are all so supportive of each other. I couldn’t get enough of this story and will be going back to add this series to my TBR shelf immediately. It isn’t necessary to read the other books first and I read Cut Loose as a standalone. Great writing and had me laughing until I cried in some pages. Do yourself a favor and grab this one for a relaxing read by the pool.
Francisca “Frannie” Rivera is a hair stylist and former competitive dancer. Six months ago she had the worst sex of her life with the handsome bartender who works at one of her favorite hangouts but for some strange reason she still can’t get him out of her head.
James O’Malley is a quiet guy who keeps to himself but is very attracted and drawn to Frannie. But he holds things very close to him and when she discovers who he is will she still give him the second chance he desperately wants?
Will Frannie get over her own insecurities and hang ups to give James a second chance and when she learns what he is hiding will she be able to get over it?
I really liked Frannie yet at times I must admit that I was frustrated with her as she had hr own insecurities when it came to relationships. I was proud of her for following her own dreams and ambitions when she had been under so much pressure from her mom to be the perfect ballerina. I loved her friendships with Laurel, Eliza and Rachel and how the girls really supported each other.
James was an interesting character as we begin to learn more and more about him as the book goes on and I was totally surprised by most of the revelations. I absolutely loved how he “improved” himself in the bedroom.
Frannie was mad at James several times in the book for not being forthcoming but I completely understood why as some things never came off and he never wanted to frighten her off. James was innocent enough but I was on his side for sure as Frannie went off the deep side.
I really liked the development with Eliza and I hope she gets even stronger in the next book.
The end was awesome and I look forward to more in this series!
Frannie is a free spirit…she sees what she wants, conquers, and then rinses and repeats as needed. But she never gets attached. Until the bartender of the place she and her friends frequent gives her one night…and the night was ….eh. She can’t get it out of her mind, nor James, no matter how hard she tries. So she decides to try James…again. james is a good guy, and has just gotten out of a long term relationship. He has a mutual connection to Frannie, and together they start to give in to their insane chemistry…that exploded the second night around. James falls hard, Franny is scared. I wanted to shake Franny on more than one occasion, but in the end she will get her blissful HEA.
I like to see glimpses of the previous characters and what their lives are like after their HEA. There is good character development and the need to see whom the author chooses next. All in all a good read.
Loved, loved, loved Frannie and James!!!
After a bad one-night with James, Frannie can’t seem to get the sexy bartender off of her mind. Frannie is an anti-relationship person but James might be the opposite she needs in her life. the chemistry between Frannie and James was smoky hot after they get passed James’s not so little secret.
I want to be friends with this group of girls, they always have each other’s back no matter what happens. So looking forward to more book about this small town group of friends.
I loved the first book in the series and did enjoy this one as much. I really loved James. He’s a shy gentle giant and opposite of Frannie’s personality, but they fit so well together. This one had me chuckling a lot while reading. I’m a huge a fan of all the characters. Frannie and James are just too adorable. I was completely invested in their story.
This is the third book in the Sublime series and can be read alone, but I would recommend that you read book one, Cut Short, to have a little more background with the characters.
Frannie has not had things easy, between her parents and trying to make it on her own. Because of these things believing in love is not easy and she doesn’t think she can have it. James is so not what you expect as the sexy bartender where Frannie loves to hang out. There is way more to him then just bartending. Will he be the one to show Frannie that she can find love and happiness?
I really loved how this book peeled back one layer at a time with these two characters and just when you think all the layers are gone, there is another. It was also enjoyable to read where there was no backstabbing or people trying to break up the characters, since Frannie was good at doing that all herself with the relationship. It was a surprise to learn what we do about James from the event that happened in book one. It is not something that is common for the male lead character in books, so it was refreshing.
The interaction with the characters from book one was great; as well as, this group of people in book two. They feel like friends and you want to know what is happening in their lives. The author does a great job with her writing that everything feels real and you are a part of their lives. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.
Cut Loose is an entertaining romance with engaging characters and witty dialogue. Having not had the pleasure of reading previous books in the series, I wasn’t sure what I would find, but this one works well as a standalone and I had no problem following the story or the characters. It’s impossible not to fall for the great mix of sweet and sexy that is James. In fact, there were a couple of times that I really wanted to give Frannie a good shake and help her see what a great guy she had right in front of her. The story is a bit longer than I felt it needed to be given the relatively low angst level, but the author does keep it moving along with some wit and humor. Overall, the story is a good mix of sweet and steamy and we get the added bonus of a few chuckles along the way.

Love this series 🙂
