Technically, this story is along the lines of a cozy paranormal type mystery but it didn’t feel like that to me. I don’t really like cozy mystery types because there isn’t a lot of depth or challenge to them. I was pleasantly surprised at how the mystery developed throughout the book.

I really liked this story–again like Webb’s others, a gothic tale with a mansion featuring a storied history with generations and layers of people and events to peel back. There were some character monologues vs a switch in time period in order to tell the history, but the info was compelling and interesting and I couldn’t wait to get back to it …
Delicious brain candy, like all of Webb’s books. Well written, perfectly edited – a joy to read.
