Second installment—THE VAMPYRE.I was told from a young age that our conquest would help to serve the Crimson Asa Court and farther expand our empire to heights of perfection. The birth of the Vampyre was what set our path for dominance in motion. Lust was awe. Passion and hunger were quintessential. Those were the rules I lived by since winning the Royal Challenge and becoming Athanasia of … becoming Athanasia of Vampyraya, heir to the throne. All worlds would kneel before the supremacy of the Vampyre, and I alone would stand atop—or so I thought. Shade—that was the only name he went by. The moment I laid eyes on him, my whole world fell apart. I now had to struggle with my inner demons as the blood’s passion rushed my veins whenever he was near.
I had a choice; close myself off and focus on glory in battle—or choose him as my mate and wallow in the decadence of political puppetry. I told myself that love was an illusion, and those who succumbed to it would pay the price. Nevertheless, that price would soon be paid by me—in glory . . . or blood.
The Vampyre installment in the Rule of Three series is a dark paranormal erotic tale for mature adults. Contains explicit sex scenes and violence.

This was a really good book. I enjoyed the characters and story. I found both well written and developed. A great series. I recommend reading.

Athanasia fought her cousin in a to the death challenge to win a seat on the Crimson Asa Court. Athanasia has trained to be the best fighter on the battlefield. All that training is not going to help her with her new life in the Royal Court. After her Uncle gave her the gift of the Royal Family, she is overwhelmed with its power.
Her Uncle and Aunt have a special part of her of her party that she thought they would not do. She realizes that the man on stage is going to a part of that ritual. She knew she has no choice to go through with it. She enjoys it more than she thought she would have. But the new powers over power her, she is cruel to the one person that has been with her constantly.
Everything is not what it seems, other courts want her to do the unthinkable in her mind, her friend’s life is on the line and this mystery man is saying things to her she never thought. Seems like Athanasia is going to have to make some really hard choices and see what is really going on with these people around her
This was a really good read, but it was over before you know it. I can’t wait to see what book 2 brings. There are some graphic and steamy scenes in this book, so if that is not something you want in your books, then I would not read it. But the scenes do not take away from the plot, it is a part of it.
