***The Vampire King’s Mate is the second book in the Fate of Imperium Series. Each book is the story of a different king and his fated mate. While the three books do not have to be read in order, it is highly recommended.

This is the second book in this series and though they are all interconnected with each book focusing on a different elemental sister princess from the kingdom of Gwydion and there potential mates who are also kings of imperium, each book can also still be read as a stand-alone.
It will enrich the series to read them in order but you can still follow along easily enough if you haven’t all the components are here.
In this one we get to reconnect with the eldest sister Eden, she’s the one that was originally promised as a bride to the wolf king before he scented his mate in the youngest sister Nora and the engagement was called off.
Though fully prepared to do her duty she felt she had a lucky escape, Eden has always felt slightly cut off and unaffected especially when it comes to the opposite sex.
She has a logical demeanour and the ability to stay even-tempered it’s something she has great control over.
All this changes when she meets her future mate the vampire king victor.
He ignites something in her very soul and she swiftly falls for his charms falling deeply in love with the enigmatic male.
Victor although he originally saw a mate as an inconvenience to his current situation instantly changes his mind when he encounters Eden.
Nicknamed the heartless king by his people victor finds his moniker crumbling as his new mate’s effect on him brings him to his very knees, reawakening and warming his cold heart in the process.
But the road to there love is a rocky one and Victor mistakes have a devastating effect on Eden and her fragile emerging feelings.
Offences that are serious enough that he will have to do some major damage control if he has any chance of winning her forgiveness.
So Genre-wise this is a fantasy fated-mates story with some mild OW angst thrown into the mix.
It is well written with some good secondary characters.
It easily managed to keep my attention and I was invested in both Eden and Victor and also the outcome.
I enjoyed this one a lot and will definitely be reading book 3 in the series, A thumbs up from my camp.

Complementing characters
I liked this book than the first, I felt that this has more in depth substance as it should be because its the continuation of the first, though this is a standalone and only interconnected through the heroine of the 1st book. Both main characters suit each other, in a way that they both fit the bill with their character difference – perfect for each other. World building is good, steam and sizzle is quite enough with great ending also. I am looking forward for the 3rd book in this series

Love this series. He has gotten his kingdom cursed because of what he did. The reason for it was a sound one. But has long lasting ramifications. He is visiting someone else and finds out a woman he runs into is his mate. But again they have problems. I can’t wait for the next one. Lots of intrigue, emotions, danger, suspense, hot scenes and so much more. I received a review copy from booksprout and voluntarily review it.
Holy moly Batman, that was even better than the first book. Eden and Viktor are the perfect compliments to each other’s personalities. The strife in this story weren’t as on going as they were in book one but all the more dangerous with all these betrayals cutting so deep. I absolutely love Viktor and his contrary personality, he’s the Heartless King but he’s so much more than the image he put off. The ending is sweet and brought tears to my eyes, I very much look forward to reading Evelyn’s story.

Ohhh, the author has done it againnnnn!
This book had my heart strings firmly in its grasped. I was pissed, happy, sad, ecstatic and finally overwhelmed with love. The emotions from each character come out through every word. I am happy that the characters from the 1st book played a decent size role in this book. ( some books with different kings/ leaders/ kingdoms dont intertwine the characters well once they have told the story, even when some characters are related, it sometimes mentions the others in passing only.)
This book still involves the youngest sister Nora and her mate Kellan (the wolf king).I can not wait to read the 3rd book. And I’m wondering if well ever figure out what Theran the priest (cant remember how to spell his name) is. I have some ideas, but want it confirmed 🙂
