Quinn Callahan is having a doozy of a midlife crisis. She’s stuck in a dead end job, going nowhere, but she’s been fine with it. She’s 45 and divorced. Her husband left her for her best friend—so cliche! But it was all good—until Quinn, a practicing witch, broke a major rule, and found her boring existence turned upside down. Suddenly, she finds herself thousands miles away from the bustling … bustling metropolis of Seattle and plunked down in the sleepy little hamlet of Ballydehag, Ireland, and proprietress of a charming little bookshop. Surely, there’s no chance for a middle aged witch to get into any trouble here….right? Uh……

“As long as I live, and it’s likely to be a very long time yet, I am endlessly surprised by human behavior”
Quinn Callahan has suddenly moved from Seattle Washington to Ballydehag Ireland where she will live in Rose Cottage and work at The Blarney Tome bookshop. Why is another story, and a bit of a spoiler so I won’t go into it. Jet-lagged the night she arrives, she goes over to the shop and finds a dead body! And from there unfolds a small town soap opera including guest appearances from three characters from Warren’s other paranormal series, The Vampire Knitting Club.
A “lighthearted” cosy mystery begins a whole new world populated by books and vampires and witches. Looking forward to the next one. Highly recommended.5/5
