In Emberly’s world, being wingless is considered a curse. An abomination. When she pass the age of getting her wings, Emberly was sold by her parents to the town’s Elders to become a slave and then later, a moving target practice for the Valkyries. Through some kind of fate, she was rescued from being tortured by the five princes of their kingdom.
I’ve read some of the books of the author and as always, the storyline is engaging. I wouldn’t consider Emberly as weak. She is a survivor. A girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do. She has a spirit that was buried because of forced servitude and seemingly lack of life choice. With the help of the princes, she is slowly finding her confidence.
This book is a great premise for the next installment. I’m hoping to get to know the guys more and see their relationship grow.
Great book! Loved the relationship between the characters. Loved how you never knew what was going to happen next and how strong the female lead was. How nothing could break her. Waiting on pins and needles for the next book.
No spoilers of any kind included.
The Valkyrie’s Princes I thought was a awesome book.
The story hooked me from the first chapter and kept me completely interested until I got to the very end of the story.
There’s plenty of action and some steam and I thought the characters were the perfect blend of vulnerable and kick butt.
So yes I most definitely do recommend this book because I thought it was fantastic.
This was an incredibly beautiful read. I love Emberly, she has been through so much and deserves all she (literally) falls into. The writing is fantastic and the plot with its bad Valkyries, twist and turns and sexy steamy moments was a wonderful distraction from my everyday life. I thoroughly enjoyed this read and was sucked into it right away. Can’t wait to read book two!
The Valkrie’s Princes is the first book in the Jeweled Wings series by Quinn Arthurs! The book is set in an alternate realm where everyone has wings and Females are elite fighters called Valkyie. The main character Emberly is born wingless and becomes an outcast. When her parents realize Emberly will never get her wings they sell her. Where she ends up sold to the Valkyie training school where she by the trainees as a living victim which lasted 11 years. She finally is rescued by the princes who fall in love with her despite her not having wings. This is a well written, fast paced read. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy books. I hope we get to read more about Emberly and her princes’.
I read the excerpt for this in Embers/Phoenix Rising that Quinn Arthurs is co-writing with Harper Wylde, and from the excerpt I was hooked and couldn’t wait until it came out. Unfortunately, for me, it just falls a bit flat. It starts with a bang and it pulls you in, but it doesn’t really feel like it goes anywhere. It feels like the plot doesn’t get fully developed or gets any “teeth” to it. If there is a book 2, I’m not sure I would read it. I might give it a chance, as I so love Phoenix Rising, but it’s really going to have to pull out all the stops for me to keep going.
The Valykrie’s Princes highlights the story of an abused girl taken in by several princes. She’s a damaged heroin and has to get used to new found abilities, conflicts, and obviously figuring out how to handle a burning romance with multiple princes. I enjoyed this book, I’d say it’s a little less than a medium burn, but not too fast either. You grow interested in their characters, but I did find myself having an issue in differentiating the princes from one another for awhile. However, I’d say the most notable thing about this story is its action. To me this sets it apart from other reverse harems which usually feature action but always fall short. This was a refreshing story with an interesting world. I’d recommend you give it a shot.
I really like Emberly! She is tough and resilient – she has endured years of abuse, and is still willing to trust the Princes. The story has action, romance, and intrigue! I really hope we get to see more of this world.
