This continuation of characters from The Player puts you on the edge of the seat.
I was unsure the entire time if Blair and Garrett were going to work it out. But I figured, this is Denise Grover Swank, I knew she would not let me down! I loved reading more after the “I do”. Most books end after the wedding and they live happily ever after… but it’s nice to catch a glimpse of more real life circumstances – that marriage isn’t easy. But marriage is worth it!
You most definitely need to read this book!

I was so excited when I heard this author was releasing a short story for the Wedding Pact Series! I loved each book in this series, and was so happy to have these characters back. Six months after their wedding, the Valentine focuses on Blair and Garrett’s relationship. Garrett receives a job offer and Blair is scared that it will break up their rekindled love. It is clear that Garrett will do anything to keep Blair in his life. The Valentine is a short, but sweet story about love and commitment. Is this where things fall apart for Blair and Garrett? Or will their love grow stronger than ever? I would love for Denise to write more short stories for both Megan and Libby!

This short story I wish could go on and on. But even though short, the details are thorough and you won’t be disappointed. As you think with any love story that after marriage for them it is all perfect but characters still show their struggle. Makes you nervous that maybe indeed they made a mistake but marriage isn’t perfect. It takes work and commitment. This did keep me on my edge of my seat.

This was a great follow up short story for Blair and Garrett. They both had a hard past and now they are celebrating their first Valentine’s together. Blair is insecure about her relationship with Garrett and thinks that he will realize that this whole marriage thing was a big mistake. I was sad that it was a short read, but glad that we got more of these two.

Though Blair is a strong woman she still has her insecurities. She can’t seem to think she’s enough for her husband. This novella sheds some light on her marriage with Garrett. I love that Denise didn’t end their story at the wedding. They are such strong personalities I’m glad we see more. Not as witty and funny as her other Wedding Pact books, but still an amazing book!

Denise delivered a fantastic surprise short story to all of her readers. We had no clue it was coming! Such a great story to characters we have begun to love. Only issue is it is way too short. 🙂

How much does Denise Grover Swank love her readers?
Enough to drop us little morsels of yummy goodnesss in between release dates. What better than to check in with beloved characters from a series you had crossed your fingers and hoped would still have something to give. Denise gave us the awesome Wedding Pact series where we meet Blair Hansen and her best friends Megan and Libby. In the series we get to know a little more about Blair in her story The Player. With The Valentine we get another sneak peek into Blair’s life and how things are working out for her. We also get reacquainted with a couple of characters from the series Blair’s assistant Melissa and Garrett’s sister Kelsey. I for one can’t wait to see what they have to share with us. If you’re anything like me, this is a great little piece to catch up with old friends and maybe even meet some new ones!

It was refreshing to see the realistic struggles of a newly married couple. I expected Blair and Garrett to have harder struggles in the beginning of their marriage. I think this short story accurately depicted their struggles and perspective change.
