This was a fantastic clean romance about a young man trying to move on from the heartbreak of a breakup while writing a novel and a young woman wanting to find love. Margot and Paul decide to house swap for a month to get away from their normal lives. Along the way of living in each other’s houses and discovering the places they love, they find exactly what they were looking for; peace, closure, and love. The Vacation Cottage was filled with laughter, friendship, heartache, healing, forgiveness, second chances, and love. Sophie Mays has created yet another fun loving story in the Magnolia Harbor trilogy with wonderful characters readers will fall in love with. A great new read I couldn’t put down.

Unfortunately the surprise in on Paul when he catches Susan cheating on him. Broken hearted, Paul swaps into Margot’s house. Margot had been saving vacation days and money for four years to take a special vacation. When she signed up for a house swap service, she had no idea that Paul whose house she would occupy in Florida was the one who would occupy her house for the month. When Paul could not find the expresso machine in the strange kitchen, he placed a call to the owner and thus began a long-distance friendship. This novel was very entertaining – a sweet romance with very likable characters and a wonderful plot. Thanks, Sophie, for a great read.

A house swap leading the respective owners to write their experiences to each other and to finally meet.
A fun, light-hearted story about how a change in surrounding can change perspective and ultimately change routine permanently.
A good fairly clean story with some fun elements, some serious wisdom strewn in for free and all in all an entertaining story.
Well-balanced and really enjoyable.

This was a very sweet story, I was really wondering how they were going to get together, the method was extremely creative. They were definitely made for each other. Even though it was short, again the author packed a lot into the story and you became invested in the outcome almost immediately.

I have enjoyed all the stories set in Magnolia Harbor and The Vacation Cottage is an great addition to the series. Margot rents Paul’s house in Florida. When Ryan’s plans fall through her rents Margot’s home in Magnolia Harbor. They start chatting when he calls her because he cannot find the pantry. This is a clean, sweet, laid back beach read with great characters. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip back to Magnolia Harbor!
Margot Kelly just wants a vacation after working so hard for the paper for the past five years. Paul Rowland thought he was swapping his house to spend time with his girlfriend in Colorado until he walks in on her in the arms of another man. Now he just wants to escape his broken heart. They both have beautiful home not far from the water and through email communications with each other find out they have a lot in common. I loved reading about Paul’s beach house in Clearwater, Florida and all the cool places to visit and things Margot did while she was there. Magnolia Harbor, North Carolina sounded like a great place to visit too. I just wish the epilogue was longer and maybe took place later than the next day.
