Run an entire school for magic. No pressure, right?Wrong. It’s all pressure. Nothing but pressure. The rest of my Coven got to go home and relax. All I want to do after the last few months is to sit on my couch, eat a whole box of cookies, and binge watch mindless feel-good movies. But apparently that is not on my to-do list.To top it all off…it’s Christmas season. In Manhattan. And I get to host … Christmas season. In Manhattan. And I get to host the Yule Ball for all of Eden. Every witch and shifter in the world has been invited…to show off our new School of Magical Arts. Now I just have to make sure we’re ready for the world.
But right…no pressure. NBD.

In Uptown Witch we get to focus on my girl Em. I just love this girl, she really speaks to me on so many levels. Her relationship with Deacon, the school and someone from her past life all come up in this book. You get to see just how strong she really is, even when she doesn’t quite believe it herself. And Deacon’s parents? Man oh man, I love the new version of them so much. I so much want to hangout with them now. And the group texts? Priceless.
Another amazing story from Chandelle LaVaun
The Uptown Witch is no exception to the expectations Chandelle has set for her books.
We get to see Deacon and Emerson’s grow all while getting breather from the Big Bads trying to destroy the world. The family scenes with Deacon’s family were so heartwarming and funny. There was a hilarious turn of events that has a green-eyed monster appearing. There were some GEM MOMENTS in this that had me Dying laughing and I hope she uses the same format in later books too because it was amazing. Getting to see SOMA created is something we haven’t seen before in the other series and we get to see the growth in the characters from their new responsibilities. I can’t wait to dive into The Empire Witch to find out what’s up with the little dragon shifter and see all the things to come.
I received a free copy of this book via the author’s ARC team and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is the second in the School of Magical Arts series. We follow Emersyn and Deacon as they prepare for the first Yule ball to be held at the school. Things are going well at the school and everyone is settling in well. Not only are Witches attending the school but Shifters too which caused separation between them at first. Caroline and Noah take control of the situation and everyone is fine. Emersyn gets s surprise, or a shock, when someone from her past shows up as a student at the school. We witness Deacon and Emersyn’s relationship deepen and grow along with their soulmate glyph.
Chandelle is a talented writer. She pulls you into the stories and makes it impossible for the reader to put a book down and as usual, I read this one quickly. The characters are well developed and the story flows well. It is written from different points of view in the first person. If you are a fan of Harry Potter or the Mortal Instruments, I believe you would enjoy this series. Now I patiently wait for the next book in the series, The Empire Witch.
So much have been said after so many titles of this incredible serie. This one opens a new story, this time focusing on Emersyn and Deacon, their relationship, and the new directions of the coven. It’s such a funny and enchanting journey gripping the reader from beginning till the end. Looking forward to the next title.
