I absolutely love Disney and spending my summers in Disneyland Park here in SoCal where I live, and in Orlando, Florida where we have our vacation home, and even going to Tokyo Disney last Spring in Japan.
So we are a Disney family for sure and love everything Disney especially the food!
Unfortunately with the pandemic, we are not able to enjoy visiting the parks, but thanks to my partners at ADAMS MEDIA an imprint of Simon & Schuster, I can bring the wonderful culinary delights of Disney to your home kitchen. If you are like me, I make a tradition of cooking with my teen daughter on weekends as our bonding time.
I have tried Gaston’s Giant Cinnamon Rolls and it was fantastic.
I think this cookbook was a real winner. Perfect for the cookbook collector, the Devoted Disney Fan or the home cook that just wants to add a bit of Disney magic to their kitchen, this book is beautiful to look at, fun to read and an inspiration that will have your mouthwatering and your mind eager to get cooking. A array of recipes is provided and there are many lovely photos to accompany them. Add in a bit of Disney history, a bunch of fun facts and some helpful tips and tricks and you have yourself a solid cookbook that educates and entertains. Personally I have made (and Loved!!) the Churros and Gaston’s Giant Cinnamon Rolls (which were AMAZING!!). Definitely looking forward to trying more as soon as I can. I will give you a heads up that a lot of these recipes require a deep fryer and some others will lose their “Disney” appearance without having special items like Disney themed cookie cutters or a Mickey shaped waffle iron and a few ingredients might be harder for others to find locally. Still, I really liked it and I think many others will too. I am posting on objective review of my own volition.
I was so excited to see this cookbook! I’ve not been to Disneyland in 35 years, and haven’t been to Disney World in 18, but I remember the food. Boy do I remember some of those treats! Getting this cookbook gives me access to recipes that will be similar to those I remember, and new recipes for food I haven’t been lucky enough to try but have heard tons about!
When my tween daughter found out about this book, she actually pulled herself away from the video game she was playing to ask how many of the recipes will I be making, and if there’s anything in the book that I thought she’d like to try. She’s super picky, but I know that she’s going to be lining up to try whatever I make!
With easy to follow recipes this cookbook is a no brainer for those who love Disney and love to cook. I’m excited to have my tween help me as we work our way through all the yummy sounding recipes.
**I received an ARC of this book from the publisher and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Whether or not you grew up eating these delicious treats from Disney Parks, you want this awesome cookbook! The recipes are the real deal and show you how to replicate some of the most loved recipes, from savory to sweet. The recipes are easy to follow, and none feel cumbersome to make. I like that it includes equipment needed to create these treats, as most, but not all, are common household kitchen tools. The only thing that would have made this book better was a picture of every single recipe. I definitely recommend this cookbook for all fans of Disney treats.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions expressed are my own, freely given.
This book is fantastic! It has all the favorites from the parks! The Gray stuff was indeed delicious! I loved that Craft included the history of the parks in the beginning. I also really liked the fun facts after the recipes. As a huge Disney fan, I thought I knew it all, but this book taught me that there’s still plenty to learn! Some other recipes I’m really looking forward to making are bacon Mac and cheese hot dogs, the CHURROS, Cheshire Cat tails, Lefou’s Brew, loaded buffalo chicken tots, school bread, and pongu lumpia. They have the recipes separated by park and area. Also, they have recipes up to and including Star Wars Land! This recipe book is a game changer, and I cannot wait to impress all of my friends with my newfound recipes.
This was so much fun to read! The recipes are easy to follow and I enjoyed reading the history, can’t wait to go back to Disney World and experience the snacks again. Thank you to Adams Media and NetGalley for a gifted copy. This is my honest review.
