Really enjoyed this story.
The Unlucky Bride is the second book in the Bride, Texas series. This is a second chance romance. A runaway bride runs to Bride, TX to her best friend’s cabin, but she is surprised when there is already someone there. Weather makes it so they both have to stay. This gives Laney and Chase the chance to work through their past issues. I really enjoyed this story. Definitely one I recommend.
The Unlucky Bride (Bride, Texas Series Book 2) by Sylvia McDaniel. This series is a spin-off of her Cupid, Texas series. Set in Bride, Texas, readers will find some reappearing characters from Cupid, Texas, as well as new characters.
This is the story of Laney Baxter, Chase Hamilton, and Laney’s three-old son.
Drama, secrets, a flood, a second chance, startling revelations, and a possible HEA, will have readers turning pages as they follow Chase, and Laney on their journey of revealing secrets, re-kindling old love and learning to forgive and move forward. Another great read by Sylvia McDaniel. Enjoy, small town romances, second chances and finding HEA, then, “The Unlucky Bride” is a book for you to sink your heart into.
I received a complimentary copy, however, all opinions are my own.

Unlucky Bride by Sylvia McDaniel is the second book in the Bride, Texas series but is also a spin off from the Cupid, Texas series.

What she doesn’t expect to find at the cabin is the man she fell in love with but left her…Chase Hamilton!
Chase is at the family cabin unbeknownst to his family, nursing a broken heart (so he thinks) expecting peace and quiet an evaluating what his life has become…until someone shows up at his door during a huge storm…Laney the girl from his past an a child…..which he sends them away but do to the flooding of road she can’t cross so has to go back to the cabin…
Will these two figure out how to co-exist until the flooding stops and Laney can go back home or will they find that running around the Cupid statue really does bring you your true love???
For the last 4 years, Laney Baxter has focused on overcoming hardships and providing a good life for her son. Consequently, she believes that getting married will provide the stability that he needs. Unfortunately, her luck with men strikes again and she resorts to escaping from the church and heading to her best friend’s cabin in Bride, TX. However, the last man she wants to see opens the door!
Chase Hamilton decided to go to his family’s cabin in Bride to help heal from a fight over a woman. A fight he lost. He simply wants time to think through his life when none other than Laney shows up. Forced to stay together at the cabin due to flooding rain, they have to face their pasts and consider their future.
What follows is a second chance romance that covers a whole host of emotions. Laney has been through a lot of heartache and Chase struggles to understand. How much did he cause? Laney is also hiding some major secrets. What happens when Chase finds out?
I enjoyed reading this because it felt real and raw with well-developed characters. There are a couple of scenes that feel a bit extreme or abrupt, but it’s a romance book. I guess that goes with the territory.
