For two sworn enemies, anything can happen during the Hawaiian trip of a lifetime–maybe even love–in this romantic comedy from the New York Times bestselling authors of Roomies.
Olive Torres is used to being the unlucky twin: from inexplicable mishaps to a recent layoff, her life seems to be almost comically jinxed. By contrast, her sister Ami is an eternal champion…she even managed to finance her entire wedding by winning a slew of contests. Unfortunately for Olive, the only thing worse than constant bad luck is having to spend the wedding day with the best man (and her nemesis), Ethan Thomas.
Olive braces herself for wedding hell, determined to put on a brave face, but when the entire wedding party gets food poisoning, the only people who aren’t affected are Olive and Ethan. Suddenly there’s a free honeymoon up for grabs, and Olive will be damned if Ethan gets to enjoy paradise solo.
Agreeing to a temporary truce, the pair head for Maui. After all, ten days of bliss is worth having to assume the role of loving newlyweds, right? But the weird thing is…Olive doesn’t mind playing pretend. In fact, the more she pretends to be the luckiest woman alive, the more it feels like she might be.
With Christina Lauren’s “uniquely hilarious and touching voice” (Entertainment Weekly), The Unhoneymooners is a romance for anyone who has ever felt unlucky in love.

A fun, guaranteed enjoyable read! Olive and Ethan were fun to follow and the setting was just perfect (especially since it’s winter)! Like most romances, there’s the miscommunication trope, but here, it works. And works well. Easily my favorite Christina Lauren!
Seriously, The Unhoneymooners is the funniest book I have ever read as an adult. The humor is smart, ironic, surprising and laugh-out-loud funny.
I loved it!!
Perfect amount of snark. I loved the realism of these characters and their love story.
This was another fantastic story by Christina Lauren. It once again reminded me why I love these authors! I adored Olive and Ethan, loving them even when they couldn’t stand each other. Reading them switching from enemies, to friends, to lovers was the perfect pace, hitting all the right notes.
This is a perfect book for those that love to laugh while falling in love
Such a happy, feel good story to end this year’s goodreads challenge! Family, love and a bit of drama rounds out the story!

This is the third book I have read from this author. I love this cover. It’s very bright, and put me in a good mood prior to reading.

: In my mind, this was my favorite Christina Lauren book. I got everything I wanted from a romantic comedy. We get Ami and Dane who after their wedding ceremony end up getting food poisoning with everyone else, except for Ami’s twin sister Olive and Dane’s brother Ethan who get to take their place on a luxurious honeymoon.
I absolutely loved the banter that occurs between Ethan and Olive. One of my favorite tropes in a romantic comedy is hate to love, and that’s exactly what I got. The writing in this book was so much fun to read. I’ve always wanted to go to Maui, and I felt like I was there with them while everything happened. The ending melted my heart and was nothing short of perfection. If you are looking for a light and fun rom com to read, give this book a chance!!!!!
A light hearted fun read! Finished it a day and loved the happy ending!
I really enjoyed this book as light reading and funny characters. Of course the plot is pretty predictable but there were some interesting twists. Second book I’ve enjoyed by this author duo.
Loved this laugh-out-loud book. Witty, quick dialogue – hilarious scenes. Hard to put down. If you want entertainment – this book is for you.
Really enjoyed this enemies to lovers story, where the stakes keep going up in a hilarious way.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It’s an age-old premise what’s some good twists.
One of the best romantic comedies I’ve read in recent years. Loved it.
When I read that The Unhoneymooners is one of the top Romance novels of 2019, I picked up and read the book even though Christina Lauren is a new author for me hoping that the top romance novels raters are correct in recommending this book.
I was not disappointed. It is a funny and entertaining story of Olive and Ethan. They decided to take advantage of a pre-paid honeymoon trip by impersonating their respective siblings who were too ill to go to the honeymoon.
There are some parts that I laughed out loud. The story, an enemy to lovers trope, is well written, and I will look for more Christina Lauren books!
My favorite book of theirs so far. Absolutely loved Olive & Ethan. <3 The book is romantic, funny (seriously, I laughed out loud multiple times) and romantic. I read this via listening on Audible, and while I wasn't completely in love with the narrator, I ended up thinking she did a fabulous job. I'd recommend both the audiobook and book for anyone who loves romcom.
The Unhoneymooners is an absolutely ridiculous, delightful romcom set largely in Hawaii that has very few bad things happen in it so it was the perfect read for me in week 7 of lockdown. The story centres around Olive and Ethan, two sworn enemies whose siblings happen to be getting married (yes, really). After the entire wedding party but them gets brutal food poisoning, there’s no other solution available other than Olive and Ethan taking the happy couples’ free, all-expenses paid honeymoon to Maui together (yes, really) but as the holiday progresses, they come to find they don’t actually hate each other after all and actually really really fancy each other (obviously). This book was exactly what I needed right now and to be honest my only criticism was that I would not have taken Ethan back after the stunt he pulled in the latter third of the book, but maybe that’s why I’m not a romcom heroine.
Loved this book. I couldn’t put it down.
Christina Lauren never disappoint! Fun read
Romance novel where enemies become lovers. An entertaining read from this popular writer.
This was my first time reading these authors and enjoyed this book so much! I’m such a mood reader and purchased this book off a recommendation from a fellow book reader, but felt like it would fit perfectly for a Summer read.
If you love enemies to lovers or fake relationships..then this is the book for you. This book had a fantastic plot that I enjoyed so much, but wanted a little more steam! I enjoy that fire and look for it in my selections.
Looking forward to reading more of this duo’s work. Hit me with your recs!
