“”I wish I was an artist; I’d capture this moment forever on canvas, though I doubt there’s a single color that could do you justice.””
The unEXpected Plan is a wonderful entertaining read. I can only imagine, falling for your best friends brother is no easy thing to do. The characters are well developed and easy to like. It was fun to join the journey of Brook and Corbin falling in love in the most unexpected way.
This book is a very sexy and enjoyable read.
“”You, my dear, are a work of art.””
Life doesn’t work around our plans. No one knows that better than Brooke. She thought she had it all mapped out even down to the 2.5 kids until a breakup sideswiped her leaving her in a tailspin.
What do you do when life jacks up your plans via a hot blonde assistant? Well, Brooke takes the less conventional route.
I have to say I was an easy win with The UnEXpected Plan.
Best friend’s hot older brother…yum.
A revenge plot…duh! What previously scorned woman wouldn’t mind a little just desserts!?! (That’s rhetorical)
Incomparable passion and chemistry…hells yeah!
Clearly Leddy Harper knew she would have an easy time snaring me but I loved every minute she had me dangling on that hook. These two are undeniably perfect together. I loved their denial and unwillingness to fess up about their feelings. Who doesn’t want a little extra drama in their books!?! (Also rhetorical)
Ridiculous plan and even crazier friends aside, The UnEXpected Plan is a fun read. With every lie and omission you fall deeper under the spell these two cast. Soon you’ll be spinning your own webs and trying to trap them, if only to keep them together.
First, let me say, Brooke is an amazing , strong, wonderful character! I love her as a teacher, a friend, and a girlfriend. I adore Corbin. He knows what he wants, he loves his sister even if she is always needing him for shenanigans, he is devoted to his family ( seriously every sunday night he has dinner with them), and of course sexy.
Loved how this slowly turned into something neither of them had expected. Going from a plan to make Brooke’s ex feel heartbreak to something more. Can these two make a relationship work, without hurting people, and ruining friendships/sibling relationships forever in the process?
I really enjoyed the plot to this story! The end was a little predictable but I loved getting to know the characters and the little bumps they came across along the way! I’ve never read this author before, but I will look for her name when I search for something else to read in the future
Amazing, read. Felt like I couldn’t stop reading even though I had to stop to do a few things. It was some feels and I loved it.
The unEXpected Plan was the perfect blend of laugh out loud comedy, swoon worthy moments and Kindle fogging steam!
A creative and entertaining spin on the best friends brother/sisters best friend trope. Brooklyn enlists her best friend, Penelope’s (Nellie) brothers help to get back at her douchebag ex. Corbin being uber busy and a glutton for punishment, reluctantly agrees without giving it much thought.
This has both Brooke and Corbin on a mission that will eventually lead them to fall for each other and push them less towards other people. Watching them fall in love was amazing with well thought scenes, vivid description and funny banter.
Corbin isn’t the typical hero type I usually go far but he had his own charm, was just as masculine and I fell for him all the same. He was just incredibly career focused and driven which occasionally blinded him to other priorities but Brooke set him straight.
Brooke is feisty, funny and sometimes has bad luck but it ends up working in her favour. She has her own insecurities to deal with which is understandable when you have a dick of an ex.
But I must say, Leddy kept this book simple and realistic. I loved the characters for their insecurities and conflicting schedules even more.
A battle of wills and wit that will leave you howling in your seat and even fighting wet eyes at the end.

Oh, my word… It’s been so long since I’ve read a book from this lady that I couldn’t start this one fast enough.
I’ve been following Leddy’s career for a while now and each book is freaking amazing. She’s responsible for one of the ugliest cry of all times and I still love her. Lol.
Leddy Harper knows what she’s doing. One minute she’s writing a comedy and the next she gives us a steamy as hell book. Just go with the flow.
The unEXpected Plan is her latest release and tells the stories of Brooke and Corbin.
Brooke had made a plan. A plan to get back at her EX piece of shit… boyfriend for cheating on her. And what better plan that you make him jealous.
Simple plan right? Wrong…
Corbin would do anything to help his little sister but when she asks him to help her best friend…
Oh my God… This book… This book…
It was so freaking amazing.
Superb plot, very well written, super engaging and intense. It was sweet to see the friendship that was told here and it was even better to see the way love works.
One minute she was in tears and the next she was having hot flashes… Lol. Let’s talk about a turn of events.
The chemistry they share is so strong and so beautiful that I saw myself smiling the entire time.
But hey, don’t think that everything was a bed of roses because it wasn’t. But knowing this author you are always prepared… Always.
There were parts of the story that I wanted to slap someone… Jeez. Why be so stubborn? But then there were other parts that I saw myself wanting to hold them.
Love, friendship, trust, desire are very present in this book as well as betrayal, loss, and lies.
It was a joy to read this book but now I want more…
Please, Leddy, tell me if Nellie, Mady, and Julie will have their own books?
Please say yes… Please…I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
One of my favourite books this year. I loved this book so much. The friendships, the chemistry, the love. Everything about it was brilliant. As a reader it sucked me into the story and the storyline kept me there. Absolute perfection. It had everything you need in a story.
A Brother’s Best friend accidental romance
I found it cute to see how author Leddy Harper gave us this romace where the heroine is more concerned on her friendship that her happines, but as love likes to always come out and land when it pleases their magnetic pull could not be ignored.
With giggles and admirable actions I just loved how this girl next door gave a man so carrer driven the conection his life was missing, while hes Best friend // AKA as his sister had me upset at her for not understanding love respects no boundaries.
Loved this story! Brooke needs revenge on her ex after he cheated and who better to help but her friends. They come up with the plan to get her best friend’s brother Corbin to help. Corbin somewhat agrees to the crazy idea. Soon Brooke and Corbin form a friendship and with it chemistry and so much more. This was my first book by this author and I must say I really enjoyed it.
The unExpected Plan has a little bit of everything. It was heartfelt and emotional. There were fun moments and super sexy ones. Brooklyn needs a plan to make her ex-boyfriend jealous and when her crazy best friend suggests her brother’s services, the plan just might work. Corbin has always seen his little sister’s best friend as another little sister. He was always getting them out of their messes when they were young, so he’s not sure about their latest suggestion especially since they are adults now. And Corbin has noticed how much Brooklyn has grown into a beautiful sexy woman. The more time these two spend together, the more they realize they could have a future together.
I am a fan of this author and this latest book is a must read. It’s wonderful and extraordinary.
This is probably the first time I have ever given a book a .5 added to their total star rating.
I gave this book a 2.5 star because 1. I did finish the book, 2. It was terrible, but it just didn’t capture me like I thought it would after reading the blurb.
Brooklyn Bridge (yes that is her name), is suffering from a recent breakup with her ex-boyfriend who cheated on her with his assistant from work. She though after two years of being together they were perfect for each other and that nothing was wrong. She never saw any signs that he could be cheating on her.
So when she and her group of friends decide to come up with a plan to get back at her ex for cheating on her, instead of a plan that shows him what he lost and all that jazz, they devise a plan to get his now girlfriend to cheat on him so that he knows what it feels like.
When I first read the blurb part ” He was only suppose to make my ex jealous…not make me fall in love with him,” I though it meant she was dating someone well known/famous, and super hot and rich to get back at him, but really the plan of to get her bestie’s older brother (who works for the same company but more higher up) to flirt with her exes assistant to get her to cheat on him.
Corbin obviously thought this plan was stupid, like I did.
However, I did like how , instead of pursuing that assistant like his sister and Brooklyn wanted, once he realized he was falling for Brooklyn, he started to pursue her. The chemistry between them was great. When they spent time together, it was swoon worthy sweet. But whenever it came time to discussing “the plan”, I got bored.
I think I would’ve like this book more if the plot of the story with “the plan” was different. I liked the idea of getting back at her ex for cheating on her, but the way they set out to do it, I didn’t really care for.
4.5 Stars
When Brook discovers her boyfriend has been cheating on her she wants him to know how it feels to have everything ripped away from him so comes up with a plan involving her best friends brother Corbin. What she doesn’t expect is to fall in love with him.
Leddy Harper always pulls me into her stories with her fantastic writing style, she never fails to create amazing characters that you just cannot help taking to your heart.
A terrific story about revenge that ends in love. Leddy Harper does not disappoint!
The unEXpected Plan was such a fun, slightly steamy best friends brother romance.
Brooke wanted to get back at her ex, who just so happens to work for the same company as her best friends brother. Brooke and her friends devise a plan, however, plans don’t always work out as planned.
Brooke and Corbin had an instant connection from their very first meeting, at least meeting as adults. They have known each other since they were children. Brooke was almost like another little sister to Corbin, however, he didn’t have too many sibling-like thoughts when it came to her now.
Corbin Fields was a good guy. He was smart, hard working (maybe a little too focused on his career at times), but he is also super sweet and of course, gorgeous. I loved Brooke. She had bean dealt some crummy cards when it came to life, but she didn’t let that stop her and she was caring and compassionate when it came to everything in life.
Let’s talk about Nellie, sometimes I wondered how her and Brooke were such best friends, but really the more that story went on I realized they are so different personality wise, they truly balance each other. Though, she did frustrate me towards the end (if you’ve read it you can probably guess what I’m referring to).
This isn’t the first book by Leddy Harper I’ve read and it was definitely one I enjoyed from start to finish.
I’m a sucker for Best friend’s sister romance and this one did not disappoint!
“I had never been happier to discuss my ex. And oddly enough, his name didn’t make me sad. In fact, it didn’t make me feel anything.
Maybe Corbin was the distraction I needed.”
Brooklyn got dumped by her boyfriend. And with that, her perfect vision of what her life would be like was destroyed. But if trying to figure out where everything started to go wrong was already bothering her, discovering that her ex has already move on, and that the woman in question is his assistant with a dubious reputation, leaves her devastated. After all, she still has hopes that he will return.
When one of her friends proposes a revenge plan against the traitor, Brooke soon accepts. But not for the same reasons as her friends. If they want to get even and hurt Chase and even put his job on the line, Brooke hopes to save him and then throw him back in her arms. But for that, she will need her best friend’s brother help.
Corbin should be suspicious when his sister appears asking for a favor. After all, this situation is repeated forever. And it always ends with him in trouble. By agreeing to meet her in a bar, he did not expect to find her best friend. A friend who looks nothing like the girl he remembered. But when he hears the real reason for the meeting, and what they want him to do, he can’t believe the mess he’s going to get into again. Seducing a woman who works at his company, whom he does not know, to make her leave her current boyfriend, so that he, Brooke’s ex, has a taste of his own medicine. But even if he tries to deny it, he knows his sister always gets what she wants.
And so Corbin agrees to a crazy plan, even though he has no intention of executing it. But spending time with Brooke, and meeting the woman she became can be a bonus. With the friendship between them growing and feelings being uncovered, the initial plan may be in trouble. After all, how can he help the woman he is interested, in taking revenge on her ex, if all he hopes is for her to forget the guy?
Corbin is wonderful. Responsible, honest, sensitive and passionate. That said, he didn’t deserve Nellie and Brooke at all.
Her sister is spoiled, self-centered, manipulative and vindictive. Brooke, despite all that has gone through her life, and wanting to do good, has not a shred of self-esteem and self-love. Waiting for a man who no longer wants her, and thinking, “If he loses his job, how will he support the family we’re going to have?” made me loathe her. While acknowledging that she has changed Corbin, showing that there is more to life than work.
The ending, with Nellie’s drama and the setup, was the last straw. Best friends don’t attack each other for childish reasons. I was hoping Corbin got rid of these two freaks and went live his life.
“The UnEXpected Plan” is the first book I’ve ever read by Leddy Harper, but it definitely won’t be the last. I really enjoyed this story and found the main characters, Corbin and Brooklyn, to be well-developed, likeable, and very relatable. Corbin seemed like a great guy despite his workaholic tendencies. Even though he didn’t recognize it at first, he needed something more in his life besides work, and reconnecting with Brooklyn, his younger sister’s best friend, came at exactly the right time. Brooklyn shook Corbin out of his stale routine and helped him to create balance in his life.
As for Brooklyn, I couldn’t help but admire her for persevering in the face of her mother’s illness and managing to put herself through school without help from anyone. She was clearly a very strong and independent young woman, and her passion for and commitment to teaching was wonderful. At the same time, I hated how desperately Brooklyn seemed to want to get back together with her cheating ex-boyfriend, Chase. Given the loss of her mother and the relatively few close friends she seemed to have in her life, however, it was easy for me to understand why it might be terrifying for Brooklyn to suddenly lose even a crappy boyfriend like Chase. Even so, she deserved better, and the way Corbin treated her was certainly a huge improvement. I appreciated that Corbin realized how special Brooklyn was and went out of his way to make her life better, even when she didn’t want to accept his help.
I enjoyed the secondary characters in this book as well, particularly Nellie, Corbin’s younger sister and Brooklyn’s best friend. At times, Nellie came across as somewhat selfish and immature, but she seemed to grow up towards the end of the book as she learned that it was possible to share Brooklyn with her brother. I think there’s potential for Nellie to mature even more, and I could easily see her being featured in a future story of her own.
Overall, “The UnEXpected Plan” was an entertaining read, and I would recommend it.

The UnEXpected Plan by Leddy Harper is a sweet story that is a slow burn romance between the hero Corbin and his sister’s BFF Brooklyn/Brooke. It’s been years since these two have seen each other but when she needs help enacting revenge on her lying, cheating ex boyfriend in a spectacular way, her BFF Nellie throws her brother Corbin up to help and Brook is that desperate to use Corbin to gain revenge on her ex. Corbin is older, successful, and swoon-worthy…just what Brooke needs. Corbin has always been about work but when Brooke pops into his life and shakes it up, he finds himself falling into her spell and thinking less about work. Brooke starts thinking about “the plan” and more about the older hottie… can these two find their way to each other or will others seek to divide? The humor, passion, feels, chemistry and wit will draw you into this story. Loved the ending….
My Rating: 4.5 stars ******
This story had two story lines I love: getting back at an ex & discovering what was right under your nose the whole time. This romance was off the charts. But what did I expect…it’s Leddy Harper! Brooke is heart broken over her boyfriend leaving her for his assistant. She comes up with a plan with her best friend to use her best friend’s brother Corbin to get back at her now ex. They are going to have him seduce the man stealing woman and let her ex know how it feels. Then she is convinced they will get back together. What she didn’t plan was to fall for Corbin. Things heat up quickly and they are hiding their feelings from her best friend. Even though they have never seen each other this way before, now their eyes are open. Brooke has to decide if it’s really worth trying to get her ex back. I just loved this book. It had me cracking up and of course swooning. Corbin is so crush worthy. I was rooting for Brooke and him to work out, no matter how different they were. Another gem from Leddy!
