Workaholic attorney Samantha Sweeting has just done the unthinkable. She’s made a mistake so huge, it’ll wreck any chance of a partnership. Going into utter meltdown, she walks out of her London office, gets on a train, and ends up in the middle of nowhere. Asking for directions at a big, beautiful house, she’s mistaken for an interviewee and finds herself being offered a job as housekeeper. … housekeeper. Her employers have no idea they’ve hired a lawyer–and Samantha has no idea how to work the oven. She can’t sew on a button, bake a potato, or get the #@%# ironing board to open. How she takes a deep breath and begins to cope–and finds love–is a story as delicious as the bread she learns to bake.
But will her old life ever catch up with her? And if it does…will she want it back?

This is a very easy and entertaining light read. It had me in stitches and laughing out loud.
It was okay. Easy, quick read.
This is an easy to read, fun book. If you want something entertaining and to relax and enjoy, this is a good book.
Funny ,light reading . A little predictably wrapped up at the end . But good summer book .
Enjoyed this one, but a steady diet of these isn’t necessary
Very good plot twists! It made me laugh out loud.
Although this book is a typical girl meets guy, they become a couple, there’s a plot twist that throws them off course, and then a happy ending occurs type of book, the journey from the beginning to the end is definitely unpredictable! This was an easy read that had me captivated and on the edge of my seat wanting to know the outcome. I couldn’t put it down!
I loved this book. Kept me laughing out loud all the way through. Don’t miss this one!
This was a great tale- seems like it would make a terrific RomCom movie. Fun shift in the central character which allowed lots of light to flood into her life- not to mention romance.
After reading several pages I couldn’t detect a plot and didn’t particularly care for the character or what happened to her.
Fun read with light, quirky humor.
I love how this character is a strong and intelligent lawyer who is hilarious in the kitchen. This book made me laugh.
I loved the fish out of water story. Great characters and satisfying ending.
I found the premise quite believable and the whole thing was a fun journey into “what if?”. Who wouldn’t want to drop out of their life at some point and reinvent themselves? Nice little mystery tucked in there
, too. A real feel good book.
What an awesome story!!!!! Loved every moment of this book and I was very happy for Samantha and Nathaniel as the ending was everything you hoped it would be.
Light read, plot and characters fun but not a must-read.
A totally entertaining tale, while not exactly believable. However, who needs believable when one is being entertained?
Great light hearted and charming read
Story line incomplete – poor follow-up — didn’t go full circle regarding certain parts of story — example: the contract that Samantha prevented her employer from signing (by spilling coffee on it). Very predicable and ridiculously unrealistic. I’ve enjoyed Kinsella’s books in the past – but this one was quite disappointing.
Was a fun read. Loved how everything worked out for the characters.
