You need to read all three, to get your answer…..
1. THE DISAPPEARANCE OF LADY EDITH – 4 STARS
I did enjoy how the H/h met, made me laugh. If she was spotted in the tree, which seemed to be close to the road, she would be ruined. Several other times, rules seemed to not be adhered too. Still, I enjoyed the story even though some editing/spelling issues too.
The h and her friends believe their friend was murdered. That part of the story is not handled in this one, of course I have two more books to read in the bundle. I felt sorry for the H, his betrothed ends up marrying his father and he moves out of the house.
This story had some surprises as to another villain who tries to harm the h. If you can suspend belief with what I’ve mentioned, I think you would enjoy this story.
The h/H only have passionate kisses. But, near the beginning of the story, the h witnesses some women standing naked in a window. She then is fondled by a man, no description of anything taking place, except with your imagination.
No cheating, no cliffhanger for our H/h except the murderer not found, HEA and little on romance. I did enjoy the banter between the H/h at times. (ljb)
2. THE MISFORTUNE OF LADY LUCIANNA – 4 STARS
A murder takes place in book 1 and as I’ve finished book 2 the murder of their friend is still not solved. So be warned, if you don’t read the series, this will be hanging in the air.
At times, the h came across as too brass in her actions. The H needed more of a back bone and I can’t believe he let the h’s father talk to him the way he did. I still enjoyed the story and how it unfolded.
There is some groping and passionate kisses, but the “act” doesn’t happen.
I did enjoy the scene with the h/H fencing. There isn’t much romance in either book 1 or 2 so if that is something you like in your stories.
Some mystery, many villains, murder is unsolved, HEA, no cheating, not all is resolved.
3. THE MISADVENTURES OF LADY OPHELIA- 4.25 STARS
This was my favorite until the ending which was rushed. I thought I knew who the murderer was from book 2 and I was correct. I felt the confession of the person, the H’s father complete about face and reason was disappointing.
If you are a stickler for Regency Rules, this will upset you because so many rules are broken. But, if you can get past that, it is an interesting story line.
Another clean story with only kisses. I loved the grandma Molly and her dead fast love for her departed husband. The stories she instilled in her grandson warmed my heart and she never gave up in her belief.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, little on romance, great banter, but rushed ending. (ljb)
An absolutely wonderful series!
great read!
The running theme is how 3women can find out how they friend died and find love too.
This book is very enjoyable and well-written!
Just finished the trilogy of the Undaunted Debutantes. The every enjoyable series of the three young ladies trying to solve their friend’s mysterious death. Each story led right into the next with a great story, mystery and romance.
Moved along well.
This threesome group tells stories about three sisters-one in each book. Of course, the sisters are all different which makes them well done from a character standpoint and their stories even better.
Mundane stories-couldn’t finish
The Disappearance of Lady Edith – One tragic night has lead three women on a journey of danger, courage and love. Christina McKnight, begins her Undaunted Debutantes series with a bang. The Disappearance of Lady Edith is a story of betrayals, danger and the quest for justice. The death of a close friend has pushed Lady Edith to the edge. She wants someone to pay and she needs answers. Her determination catches the eye of a possible suitor, but also puts her in more danger than she could ever have imagined. The lure of the chase is hard to ignore.
The Misfortune of Lady Lucianna – What draws me to author Christina McKnight is one trait above all else. She doesn’t write victims, she creates heroines. Her female leads are spirited individuals with the brains to fight for themselves instead of playing the damsel in distress. Of course, in the case of Lucianna that proved to be somewhat of a negative trait, because she lead with her heart instead of the facts. A painful tragedy has set her on a course that could prove to be her undoing. The Misfortune of Lady Lucianna is a story of survival that romances, intrigues and captivates.
The Misadventures of Lady Ophelia – Christina McKnight has immense talent. The shining beacon of that gift is her ability to create great characters. Characters that stand out above and beyond the words on the page. Heroes and heroines that come alive with their personalities as they lead stories of courage and heart. The Misadventures of Lady Ophelia fits that mold. Ophelia has the distinction of being slightly bookish in personality but never lacking in heart. The death of a friend changed her life. Guilt drove her, but love saved her. That one event set her on a course that lead her to her soulmate and brought her out of her reserved shell and into the risky venture of life. The danger is not only in the mystery that pulls her deeper into the dark, but in the uncertainty that comes with listening to her heart. These Undaunted Debutantes are loyal, fierce and intoxicating. With the series as a whole Ms. McKnight not only conjured up a dynamic and captivating trio, she also spotlighted how beautiful it is to be unique.
