The thing I like about this author is her uncanny ability to make a story awesome. As always her characters here are strong and opinionated as any of her female characters usually are. Single minded in her goal she does all she can to find answers and meets a few allies at different points along the way. This is by no means a standalone read. The world has been set up. You are introduced to it in the full on action this book is full of. And the anticipation for the next book is high. I can’t wait for more.
A fast paced, action packed story of self discovery that will have you on the edge of your seat. It has angels, demons, intrigue, battles, heartache and some romance. Thalia is a strong female lead who you quickly become attached to as you as you follow her on her journey to discover who she really is. The slight cliffhangerish ending leaves you dying for the next book.
Thalia Brennan is an immortal bounty hunter who works for the corrupt archangel, Ereziel. She goes after and kills the most evil and vile of immortals for him and the bounty she collects is another soul as a bargaining chip to help her buy her way into purgatory as her first step before reaching heaven. When on assignment killing a particularly heinous demon, Thalia is surprised when he gives her a locket that he claims is hers and tells her it’s a key to where she’s really from. Thalia sets off with her blacksmith friend to discover the meaning of the key and what realm it opens the door to.
An unbreakable read!
Banished from paradise, she’ll risk it all for one last chance to return…
Honestly, I struggled with this book which is the reason why it took so long for me to finish it. The book is written in third person and I don’t mind books in third person but this one was just not working for me at all.
It was an alright and enjoyable read. Not that exciting. Good writing and characters. I will continue reading the series because I love reading books from this author.
I feel so disappointed with this book so my expectations for book two is low but I am really hoping it gets better!
Full of angels, archangels, demons, curses, powers and action.
Perfect for readers of urban fantasy romances.
Didn’t care for it that much. Did not hold my attention.
Great character and action. Can’t wait to finish the series!
interesting and easy to read liked the story line
The premise was hood but couldn’t connect with the characters.
I hate to be that person. It’s rare that I stop a book mid-way through, as I like to give them a chance. Even if it doesn’t get there in the end, at least I’ve seen it through. This is one of the few books that I have given up on partway through, and I’m not really certain that I can pinpoint why. It just didn’t get there for me, and I got a bit bored with it. I may give it another go in the future, and see if it was maybe just a mood thing (we’ve all got to be in the mood to read certain books). If I do, and I love it, I’ll definitely revise my review, but for right now, I guess I’m the bad guy.
I received an arc of this book from Alexia. I enjoyed the introduction to this new series she is creating. Thalia is quite a warrior and her life is very interesting. There are several unexpected twists in the plot, which I love! The end leaves you waiting excitedly to dive into book two.
