Sloane Abbot didn’t trust easily – for good reason. So when she arrived at a job interview in a dark, isolated warehouse, her instincts warned her that something was wrong. Meeting Josh Starke, tall, handsome and horribly rude, didn’t ease her concerns. But for some bizarre reason, he challenged her. When she got the job, Sloane vowed to deal with his abrupt commands for six months, then quit. … then quit.
Years later, she was still working for the man, but now she was in love with him. Unfortunately, during one sultry, starry night, she couldn’t hide her feelings for Josh. And the freakish Abbot fertility reared its ugly head once more.
Pregnant and terrified of Josh’s reaction to that news, Sloane was lost, not sure what to do now. When she’d taken this job, she’d vowed never to fall under his spell. And yet, that’s exactly what she’d done!
Josh Starke remembered Sloane’s vow so many years ago, and cursed himself for demanding it. Sloane was sexy and smart, brilliantly efficient and didn’t put up with any of his rudeness. Every time she looked at him, he felt her gaze right down to his…! Well, he loved her. So how was he to overcome her reticence at having a relationship with him?
And how was he to overcome the tragedy of her past that kept her from trusting anyone?

What a wonderful book by Elizabeth Lennox with The Tycoon’s Baby Revelation book #1 in The Abbott Sisters series. Sloane Abbott is determined to make a better life for her sisters and herself. Being the oldest Sloane feels responsible for her 2 younger sisters after her mother dies and eventually becoming homeless. While living in a shelter and working in a fast food restaurant, Sloane goes to a job interview determined to get a better job, after waiting 2 1/2/ hrs. she is finally called back for her interview and meets Josh Starke her would be eventual employer. Josh seeing Sloane’s application is lacking qualifications he needs for a potential employee, points that out to Sloane but Sloane feeling enough is enough tells Josh off for making her wait and tells him at least she not there interviewing just to land him(or bed him) and all though she doesn’t have the skills now she will figure out how to do what he wants because that is always what she did in the past, then walks out on him. Intrigued Josh follows her to her job at a fast food restaurant and is about to do something crazy. I encourage you to read the rest of this story, you not be disappointed, I wasn’t. Read how Sloane overcomes her trust issues and falls on love for a HEA for her and Josh.
Loved it! Elizabeth Lennox does such wonder “baby” books.
The first book in The Abott Sisters series, The Tycoon’s Baby Revelation was a stunning read. The previous book of Ms Lennox didn’t captivate my interest like the usual, and I did mention that in my previous review. But she has more than made up for it with this one. What a beautiful, emotional, and a sweet story!
First for all that I liked – no scratch that – loved about this book – the story was emotional, engrossing, different from her usual plots, and definitely left me wanting for more. The cover image and the woman in the cover is alluring, adding on to the charm of this book. I loved the characterization of Josh Starke, the hero, and literally swooned over how sweet he is portrayed to be. The flow and pace was easy and I finished it one sitting. Definitely a great read for a warm Sunday.
I had nothing that I didn’t like, only wish the cover also had the image of the hero. Looking forward to reading the books about the other two sisters too.
I was touched by the life story of Sloane and her sisters, the difficult and painful situations that they all went through, especially Sloane, as the biggest sister who has to protect and care for them and herself. Her self-sacrifice, efficiency, determination and the fact that she doesn’t put up with any of Josh’s arrogance and rudeness, fascinate him in ways he never thought possible. Behind his arrogance and grumpiness, hides a generous and patient man, who touches her heart… It was such a delightful and intriguing story with lots of passion as always!

I loved this first book in a new series about the Abbot sisters.
Sloan, the eldest sister meets Josh at an interview as his assistant which changes her world.
I loved how Josh strove to help her improve her life and allowed her to fulfil her potential, helping her help her sisters whom she is raising.
They take a while circling each other but sparks fly.
