The second volume in J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic adventure THE LORD OF THE RINGS One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them Frodo and his Companions of the Ring have been beset by danger during their quest to prevent the Ruling Ring from falling into the hands of the Dark Lord by destroying it in the Cracks of Doom. They have lost the … Cracks of Doom. They have lost the wizard, Gandalf, in a battle in the Mines of Moria. And Boromir, seduced by the power of the Ring, tried to seize it by force. While Frodo and Sam made their escape, the rest of the company was attacked by Orcs. Now they continue the journey alone down the great River Anduin–alone, that is, save for the mysterious creeping figure that follows wherever they go.
“Among the greatest works of imaginative fiction of the twentieth century. The book presents us with the richest profusion of new lands and creatures, from the beauty of Lothlórien to the horror of Mordor.” – Sunday Telegraph

Love, love, love the series.
More STUFF going on than in Fellowship, same good good language.
Nothing compares to Tolkien. Everyone should read it.
Can any story ever told be as emotionally, heartfelt packed as “The Two Towers”? I think not. This chapter in the saga of The Lord of the Rings stands apart from the other 2 stories in it’s humanity. In it’s ability to remind us of the things that don’t always make us stronger, but will always make us better.
In this chapter Aragorn steps up his …
Possibly best book ever written
Tolkien created a world of wonder and magic, believable and cohesive. While the movies are great the magic of the written word gives you more than any movie can.
THE Sword as & Sorcery fantasy classic by which all others are judged – defines the genre!
Excellent book. My favorite of the 3 books, although the complete trilogy is amazing. MY only regret is the number of authors who now write trilogies that are no where near the depth of these books.
This one is just very hard to sit through. If you’re looking through an easy to read book this is not the one you’re looking for. But it does how it’s moments though.
Great continuation to the first in the series. More world building, more adventure, and more action. I love the characters. The subtle witticisms and humor were very well placed. I almost missed them a few times, so I had to reread some of the passages. Excited to see how it all concludes in the final novel.
Loved entire series
The prototypical fantasy work of the Twentieth Century is also one of the best loved books ever written.
Love the Lord of the Rings books and movies
I loved this book and all the books in the series starting with the Hobbit. I’ve read them all over and over again Tolkien tells such amazing stories of Middle earth.
The adventure continues for Frodo and Sam. Truly a classic Fantasy adventure with wonderful characters and the evil they face to save Middle earth. A must read
What can you say that hasn’t already been said. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy and adventure.
Dude, it’s LOTR. If you haven’t read it, read it. If you have, read it again!
Everyone should read this book as part of the long-lost classical education. Amazing character development by the master…a wonderful book.
A classic of fantasy genre. The characters are engaged in a life and death struggle against the forces of pure evil, but there are humorous moments, poignant scenes and awesome descriptions of an ancient worked landscape. Tolkien started this folkloric tradition, and was the original and best author of it.
Boring. I don’t like the writing style of any J. R. R. Tolkien’s books. They are overly descriptive and hard for me to read.
