I always get super excited when I hear that this talented duo are starting a new series and as always they never let me down! Once you start this you will become 100% addicted to this Love in Isolation!
Eli and Cami have had a crush on each other for years but as Cami is his best friends sister they have always ignored their feelings until they are forced to acknowledge them when they end up isolating together in Cami’s family’s cabin. The chemistry between them is off the charts electric despite the slow burn for their relationship. Honestly its beautiful to watch grow.
As always this talented duo bring the heart and emotion, the raw and real feels you get from their writing but added in this is centred around a real life situation with the pandemic, it feels so much more.
I can’t wait to see what this amazing duo bring us next in this series.
I truthfully didn’t now what to expect with this, but Kennedy Fox brought their usual writing style and made it as good as always! With all the relevant elements around what it means to live through what we are living through right now, I was completely invested in this book. I also really liked Cameron and Elijah together. It was fun seeing their growth during the story. And in true Kennedy Fox fashion their is a moment I was not expecting thrown in the make my heart race (not in the sexy way, but don’t worry that’s there too). Haha. Overall, I just really enjoyed this take on a romance during quarantine!
I also want to say that I sincerely appreciated how Kennedy Fox portrayed some of the realities of anxiety. I’m always thankful for authors who normalize mental health conditions in their books!
Thank you to Kennedy Fox and Wildfire Marketing Solutions for an eARC in exchange for an honest review!
Absolutely loved this story. Had everything a girl could want, enemies to lovers and brothers best friend during a deadly pandemic!!! Cami escapes the city when NYC goes under quarantine to her family’s cabin with hopes of being isolated and alone and she can finish her final year at NYU. Eli needs a place to safely quarantine while trying to earn a promotion at work. His friend Ryan and Cami’s brother, offers his family cabin. Eli and Cami don’t get along, she is a rich socialite and he is a real estate agent, but you can feel the chemistry between these two and the sexual tension is HOT HOT HOT!!! Their attitude towards each other had me laughing through the book. I love Eli he is such a nice guy and forces Cami out of her comfort zone and teaches her basic necessities to fend for herself that she ends of needing in the book. This book is set during a difficult time that we can all relate to and Kennedy Fox delivered it perfectly and Eli and Cami’s love story was beautiful! Can’t wait for Ryan and Kendall’s story next!!!!
This is basically a frenemies to lovers romance. Cameron is an heiress who leaves New York City to self-quarantine in her family’s cabin. Elijah is her brother’s best friend who has the same idea. Elijah has been in love with Cameron for as long as he can remember, but she’s been a witch to him for years. They’re good at teasing one another. Desperate times require desperate measures. This is a sweet & cute love story. I think that this book could’ve been a bit shorter. And there’s a major plot twist in the last few chapters. The Two of Us wasn’t my favortite by Kennedy Fox, but it was a sweet story. Elijah is a very good example of how a man should treat his woman. 3.5 stars

The Two of Us is a story ripped right from the headlines. It embodies all the fear, helplessness, loss of living through this crazy time in our world. It also reminds us to put aside petty differences, focus on the good in people, walk through life with hope and gratitude and face each day with an open heart.
Extremely well crafted story about finding the love you’ve always wanted in the midst of the most trying times. This is a enemies to lovers romance set in the middle of a pandemic. Loved every minute of The Two of Us!

Well, I must pandemic/quarantine alternate reality is MUCH more my style- I’d rather be in this Kennedy Fox romance than trapped in my house with cats and children and too much laundry and not enough wine. And, that is exactly what this story is about- relating to our current realities AND helping us vicariously live through a different (and much more delicious) pandemic experience.
Cameron St. James (Cami) is a fashion empire heiress, completing her senior year at NYU. She decides to spend her quarantine days at her family’s fancy and isolated cabin with her boyfriend and cat Chanel. What a more peaceful way to focus on finishing the year strong than hiding from your family and glamorous celebrity life, right?
Until Elijah Ross- the struggling real estate agent who wants to escape his idiot roommates who aren’t taking the health scare quite as seriously as they should be. Like Cami- he figures the best place to ride out this quarantine is in peace with his dog, in his best friend’s beautiful, isolated cabin where he can work on securing his future by working remotely. Problem is- it is the same cabin. Oh, and Cami and Elijah can’t stand each other- Elijah’s bestie is Cami’s brother, so these two have a long history.
They make a tentative agreement to try to stick to stay out of each other’s way, but as you can imagine this is challenging when you are trapped inside with each other. Soon- their animosity turns into tentative friends, first they tolerate each other and resist their attraction, then they enjoy each other and serve as one another’s solace during this bizarre pandemic reality. But, just like their original plans were disrupted, so is their newfound peace. Another wrench in this romantic journey.
I wasn’t sure I was going to like Cameron- rich heiress inconvenienced? Can’t even cook or do basic housekeeping? Yeh, not for me. But, she was likeable and authentic- she’s driven and smart, willing to work hard even though her empire is at her fingertips. She’s sweet and funny. Elijah had some snarky bite to him- both clever and charming, but as his relationship develops with Cami we get to see his sweet side. We get a lot of witty banter between them- but the angsty isn’t too intense in this one- more light hearted fun with a good dash of steamy romantic chemistry.
If you enjoy an enemies to friends to lovers romance, or a brother’s best friend romance, this is a good quick read- relatable given our current lives but a great escape from it at the same time. Dual POV, some fun animal side characters, engaging plot, and potential for more to come.
Kennedy Fox does it again.
During these trying times have a book that expresses all my anxiety and fears is amazing.
Cameron is a senior at NYU and leaves the city to get away from the virus. She backs her belongings and goes to the cabin that her family ones. Elijah has the same idea. He is working from home and because of his asthma, he asks his best friend to go to the cabin to get away from his roommates who think the pandemic is a joke.
Being in the same cabin together, they both give in to the feelings they have had for each other they were children. Nothing is going to keep them apart, not a pandemic and not a being shot. They are finally together and nothing can get in their way.
A true must read during this Pandemic.
A book that gives hope for the post-quarantine future…
A fantastic new book by Kennedy Fox. A steamy romance set during quarantine that has a few unexpected twists and turns!
Down to earth Elijah and undemesticated and wealthy Cameron are stuck in a cabin for the length of quarantine, what could possibly go wrong!? Let’s just hope they don’t fight like cat and dog.
I really enjoyed this book, it felt good to take my brain out for a few hours and not have to worry about the crazy world of today. However, it did bring to light the seriousness of what is happening right now. A fantastically written book that people can really relate to.
I’m just glad I’m not the only one learning how to cook during quarantine!
What a great way to escape reality but still keeping in touch with what’s going on with the world. I throughly enjoyed The Two of Us. I loved the chemistry between Eli and Cami and how they addressed their fears but it didn’t go overboard. I think Kennedy Fox did a wonderful job writing this story. It touched on a sensitive topic but in a tasteful way. The story flowed well and had an interesting plot considering that they were in quarantine. A nice slow burn romance that I fully recommend! Voluntary review of an ARC
I didn’t think I would read a quarantine love story let alone enjoy one as much as I enjoyed The Two Of Us.
Kennedy Fox are a writing duo I really trust and if anyone could write this with equal levity and humour it’s these two lovely ladies.
And they did just that with this enemies to friend to lovers/brothers best friend/ sharing a cabin (albeit a lauxury one) story between Cameron and Eli.
Cameron is an “heiress” and Eli is a hard working estate agent from “the wrong side of the tracks”
The push and pull between them is on point.
Plus the pop culture references are amusing.
**I received an ARC of this for review. My opinion is my own**
The premise of this novel was what sold me alone. I love a good enemies to lovers trope, and how it is often the case of perceptions and miscommunication, but close-quarters/being stuck together allows for reconciliation. The story follows Cami, who is the heir to her family’s fashion company, and she leaves NYC, the center of the pandemic, to her family’s cabin to finish her schoolwork and just to get away. However, she finds herself rooming with her brother’s friend, Eli. Eli escapes from NYC as well because he has been dealing with roommates who aren’t social distancing and he wants to be somewhere safe. They have known each other since childhood, but they have always gotten off on the wrong foot, and it’s kind of nice to see them have that banter together, but also warm up to one another. They also both come with adorable pets and I just loved how they added to the story. You get to see them both get to know one another again, and in a different way that shifts perceptions of what they had of one another. They also relive certain moments in their past through new lens. I loved seeing them come together during this time.. I especially love that Eli worked to get Cami out of her comfort zone by getting her to cook and learn to fix things up. He really helped her realize that she should just be herself and not a version of herself that she thinks she should be based on what people think. Eli and Cami’s story was hopeful, sweet, and sexy.
That being said, I do want to say that the book follows the current circumstances of the world with covid-19, and it’s impact on people. It speaks to the struggles that the healthcare workers are facing in areas such as NY, and how some are not adhering to the rules in place. It is definitely a sensitive topic because it is our “now” – and I will say that it made it hard to read the book at times. I felt and still feel incredibly anxious as Cami does during this time, and while the book does give a hopeful message that we can overcome this, I do want to say that be understanding of the fact that it does situate itself in our current climate, and with that comes certain sensitivities and feelings.
Overall, this was a nice little escape during this weird time in our world. You got to see a story of two people who realize they are very right for each other, and see them come together to be better versions of themselves. I also love that I can count on KF to always deliver on strong friendships and good family relationships, the side characters always add so much more to the story, and I can’t wait to see how the rest of the stories in the series add in to the greater narrative.
So what happens when my FAVE duo, Kennedy Fox needs to work out some things with everything going on???? You get this epic enemies to lovers slash brother’s best friend isolation tale that is set in the real world. I mean, this could literally be happening as we speak. I think that is what made this book so relatable to me. I LOVED Cameron and saw her blossom through this story. She is witty and sassy but hides it from the world because of what the world thinks her life is. Underneath it all, she is just a normal person who just happens to have money. Enter Eli. OH swoon worthy Eli. He is just stunning and the banter between these two is honestly foreplay for what is to come! The push and pull these two have is stunning. As the story flows, you cannot help but fall in love with this couple and how much they really are made for each other. There were so many moments I adored but omg the dog and the cat. One word. Epic.
The one thing I can say is that what Kennedy Fox did with this book was beautiful. You get the passion and the feels and the quirky moments. But them handling what the world is going through right now was done so breathtaking and done with grace. It may not be your cup of tea to read a book that is actually based on what we are all going through right now, but I think it is a book that needs to be read. We need that laughter and that hope. Hope that we will have that someone that is really there for us like Eli is for Cami and vice versa. Hope that we will endure and come out of this. I have been in love with the words of Kennedy Fox since their first book and to me, things just keep getting better. The Two of Us is a book that I think everyone will love, laugh and swoon over!
Kennedy Fox accepted the challenge to write a heartwarming romance set in current situation of utter chaos and panic. And they excelled at it. The Two of Us captures every aspect of a very real and relatable romance perfectly. It was an absolutely breathtaking and enjoyable romance.
Cameron St. James has escaped to their family cabin in Roxbury away from the epicentre of COVID infection, New York City. And by accident, her brother’s best friend Elijah Ross has reached at the same time. The problem is they have a bitter sweet relationship. Since adolescence, Cami has behaved like this entitled rich heiress and Eli always teased her. But as they spend time in the confines of a cabin and tackle challenges together, they cannot deny the sizzling hot attraction. Can they be together in sickness and health? Is their hate nothing but cover for their true emotions?
I won’t lie. I was pretty much worried and sceptical about how this quarantine romance will turn out to be. Being a frontline health worker ( just like Cami’s brother Ryan), all the horrors of this pandemic are too raw and real to me. But I did not need to worry after all. The author duo handled it with sensitivity and finesse. They very carefully touched and explored all the aspects of quarantine. The utter helplessness, fear and frustration. The logistics. The very real scenario of getting sick and not being able to get help immediately. The overloading of healthcare system. And yet it did not eclipse the romance. Eli and Cami give each other hard time initially. They tease and taunt. Eli makes fun of her uber rich lifestyle mercilessly while Cami tries control her temper. But they soon form a deep and unbreakable bonding. And their connection from childhood gets rejuvenated. The chemistry is uber hot and I just cannot get enough of their intense and epic love. I could feel their pain and depression and anxiety. I could also feel the soothing and healing touch of true love.
Eli is another Kennedy Fox man I fall in love instantly. A man with gorgeous body, charming personality, dirty mouth and ability to cook like top class chef? Yes please! I melted and swooned so hard when he took care of Cami. And Cami is not what Eli always thought her to be! She is an adorable and gentle soul but always misunderstood by the media. She is not a snobby cold hearted princess at all. She is feisty, sweet, caring and compassionate.
Kennedy Fox shows perfectly how love and friendship can lighten up the darkest of times. The Two of Us is a mesmerising, heartaching and sinfully sexy romance that holds a special place in my heart. My respect and kudos to the dynamic duo for writing such an epic story.
Received ARC for honest review
This is the first book from the “Love in Isolation” series. While the subject of this book is quiet sensitive and real, as two people are social distancing together during this COVID madness, we also get glimpses of the disease itself, the ramifications, how the pandemic is driving people to act strangely, and how it is for the people in the front row (essencial workers), the authors did an incredible job doing it without offending.
Cameron is heading to her family cabin to social distancing and focus on her education. Elijah, is her brother’s Ryan best friend, and is invited by him to spend the quarantine time in the family cabin. They’ve known each other since kids, but along the way they started hating each other, as well growing attracted. Now when both of them find theirselves stuck in the cabin together, they are forced to face their past and their actual feelings.
Eli and Cami have a heartwarming story, as it begins with some good banter, seducing, teasing and fun games, they are bound to make you love them a lot. As their time in the cabin grows, they increase their intimacy, trust and prove to each other that they are not what they thought they were. Both of them as so real, companionate and loving characters that I found myself not wanting the story to end. I also love their pets, specially Bruno, Eli’s Doberman! Dogs are the best.
Even though the story start light, the couple face some serious issues, as the disease itself and some unexpected visit that made the story so much more incredible. There were some twists that I wasn’t expecting.
The ending was so well written, and it gave me hope, a thing that is very difficult to find nowadays. Eli and Cami truly care and complement each other, they fought for a lot of things and I’m happy they got to be together in isolation, helping one another. Now I need to wait for Ryan’s story and I’m sure it will be a beautiful one too.
Eli and Cami are so good together I had a hard time understanding why they hated each other. But there is a fine line between love and hate and being isolated together actually shows their different sides. I love how Cami grew during this time. Even with uncertainty, they made sure to be there for each other and the hate turns into like and friendship and then love. I couldn’t stop reading.
In this hard time, Kennedy Fox brings us a story that shows that love can be found even in hopeless situations. Two Of Us is a book which plot is set in the current world events and it’s not sugarcoated. At the same time, the authors show in a beautiful way that it’s time for reflections and coming to terms with the past. But even if the circumstances are challenging and there’s a lot of emotional scenes, this book is kept on a lighter side and that’s exactly what I needed.
I’ll be honest, I needed time to warm up to Cami. At first she seemed terribly pompous and spoiled and not very likeable. But day after day in isolation, her true nature began to come out and the change she’s gone through was enormous.
Eli definitely stole the show in this story. He’s very entertaining, but also down-to-earth, caring, helpful and supportive. I loved to see how he teased Cami and how he was teaching her basic things.
The banter between them was hilarious and the chemistry was palpable. I watched with joy as their relationship evolved from somewhat enemies to lovers.
This book is a perfectly balanced dose of reality and entertainment. The authors placed an uplifting and heartwarming love story in the center of global pandemic and showed us that life still goes on. Eli and Cami’s story was funny, sweet and amazing!
So much more than a love story.
This book was everything, romance, slow burn, witty banter, swoon, giggles the perfect combination for an entertaining read. I loved Eli and Cami.
Although this is fiction it dealt with the very real pandemic that the world is facing right now. The fear, the anxiety, the confusion and conflicting information we are all receiving. All the different emotions and fears that these characters felt are ones I have experienced, it provided me with a level of comfort I wasn’t expecting.
I have spent my Monday wrapped up in a completely made up world with a lot more realistic feel than any other romance I have ever read which brings me to another thing I wasn’t expecting, Eli has a Doberman which really hit my feels since 5 weeks ago today my Doberman passed away unexpectedly.
This book will always have a piece of my heart, it had the words my head and heart needed to restore some hope that I have had trouble feeling lately.
The Two of Us is a timely romance novel by Kennedy Fox. It’s about a college student named Cameron, who is an heiress to her parents’ business empire, and is in her final semester of her senior year at NYU, where she is studying to get a degree in business, and currently has a 4.0 GPA, and expects to be her class’ valedictorian, when a viral pandemic causes New York to go into lockdown. Cameron decides to spend the quarantine at her family’s cabin with her boyfriend, Zane, who is to arrive the next day. After she gets settled in with her cat, and decides to lay down to take a nap, she hears several loud noises coming from downstairs. Cameron arms herself with her mother’s marble statue, and when she gets to the kitchen to see who has broken into the cabin, she sees a man standing in front of the open refrigerator, and she throws the marble statue at him. Luckily Cameron misses hitting the man because it turns out that the man is her brother, Ryan’s best friend, Eli. It turns out that Ryan, who is a resident physician at a hospital in NYC, had told Eli that he could go to his family’s cabin to quarantine, and Ryan neglected to tell his sister that Eli would be going there with his dog.
Cameron and Eli have known each other since they were children, when Eli’s mother was the housekeeper for Cameron and Ryan’s family. Eli and Ryan have been best friends ever since, and Eli has had a crush on Cameron most of that time, but never felt that he was good enough for her, since she was the daughter who is the heiress to the St. James family’s fashion company.
When Cameron’s boyfriend, Zane, decides that he doesn’t want to quarantine with or date Cameron anymore, and breaks up with her via text message, Cameron is furious, but not heartbroken. Now that she is forced to spend the quarantine with Eli, she wonders how she will survive being with Eli, especially since Eli’s favorite hobby is constantly teasing Cameron.
I really enjoyed reading this book! It has great characters, a wonderful story, and keeps you glued to the pages wondering what will happen next. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading a great romantic comedy!
The Two of Us is a book that takes place during this hard time we are living. However, the writers were aware of this touchy subject and did a good job mixing it with romance. It is like a light in a dark place.
The main characters, Cameron and Elijah were on point. I was able to connect to them while I was reading. I really liked the dual POV’s
Also, the secondary characters are well developed that will leave you wanting more from them. I can’t wait for the next book!
I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a good enemies to lover book full of chemistry.
I’m giving a classy 5/5 Stars to The Two of Us, which is the first in the Love and Isolation Series. Also, a series of standalone’s– so no legendary KF cliffhanger on this one.
This book has two of my favorite tropes: Enemies to Lovers and Best Friends sibling. Elijah and Cameron have known each other since they were kids. There’s always been the sense of a crush there. But, circumstances and attitude pulled the two of them away from each other. Until a global pandemic hits and they both end up at the same cabin. Just the two of them.
I won’t lie and say there wasn’t a level of unease headed into this book. We’re basically living it (although I don’t have an Elijah of my own). But as I’m sure KF found it therapeutic to write, I found it very therapeutic to read. Somewhere, someone understood my thoughts and feelings. How completely out of control I feel in the world we are living today. It was tastefully done. And still were able to make the romance was the focal point.
These two gave me some serious Travis and Viola vibes and I was loving it. Travis is still bae, but Elijah isn’t half bad. I love their banter. The angst. And most of all– seeing the two of them finally coming together. It was such a great read from KF and I’m eagerly anticipating the next book in this series.
“The more you fight it, the more I want it.”
