The Two of Us is an enemies to lovers, brother’s best friend standalone romance set in the current affairs of history in the making. Though the character’s storyline is fiction, the circumstances are very real, and we’re sensitive to this topic. This is a story about hope, love, and so much more with a guaranteed happily ever after.

The Two of Us is a book happening in real time. Enemy to lovers with twist and turns. Kennedy Fox gives us such an emotional book but funny. I definitely needed it.
The characters developed so much from the start of the book to the very end. Cami, I grew to love her. She loves everyone but always have a special place for Eli. Eli has a huge heart and has a special bond to Cami.
I loved these characters and what their story brings.
This book has been one of my most anticipated reads from the second that it was announced! I could contain my excitement when it landed on my kindle! I had to pick it up right away and I was hooked by it so quickly. I loved it!
I felt it all with these characters!
5 Nonstop Stars!!!
OMG Kennedy Fox has done it again!! But, this isn’t like all their previous books. It’s based on the COVID virus that’s hit the world we live in today.
Cameron St. James comes from a wealthy family. Her family is in the fashion business. Cameron is weeks away from graduating college at the top of her class. Instead of quarantining at home with her parents she decided to go stay at their family cabin and she could use the time alone to get her work done.
Elijah Ross works in real estate but due to the covid virus that’s hit he will work from home. But, his roommates aren’t taking quarantining serious. He reaches out to his best friend Ryan, who’s comes from a wealthy family. He became a Dr instead of going into the family business. Ryan let Eli quarantine in his families cabin.
Neither one was expecting the other one to be at the cabin. These two have known each other since they met when they were young due to Eli’s mom working for Cameron’s parents. But, since their teenage years they’ve become frenemies.
These two go back and forth constantly and if they’re not doing that they’re either getting along or ignoring each other. What they’re not doing is admitting the crush they’ve had on each other since forever.
Until Eli makes a quick smooth move that made both of their world tilt and they couldn’t get back to standing straight up. As they start to explore this new thing between them one of them start feeling crappy.
Cameron and Eli just hope they both get over the covid and that they’ll leave together as we/us and not me. But, nothing will come easy.
Cameron might’ve seemed stuck up and snotty at the beginning but the longer she was at the cabin the more she changed or realized the way she was brought up thinking wasn’t the best.
Eli is as amazing as all the other men Kennedy Fox has given us. I loved how he gave it to Cameron. Yet he’d cook for her bc he knew she couldn’t boil water lol. He’s just amazing.
I honestly couldn’t put this down!! Kennedy Fox wrote Eli and Cameron’s feelings and their thoughts exactly what everybody in the world is thinking. I’m looking forward to Ryan’s story!!
I can not say enough good things about this book, I loved it! It’s the perfect quarantine read!
The Two of Us is such a fantastic feel-good story with such relatable issues, especially now. I immediately connected with Cameron & Elijah and adored their chemistry. The Two of Us is the perfect combination of sweet, steamy and laugh-out-loud funny. It’s the book we all want but didn’t know we needed!
I absolutely loved this book! Kennedy Fox are masters at bringing the real. They touch on the legit fears of what is going on in the world at the present time while also giving us the sweetest story of Eli and Cami falling in love. I don’t think there are two people that belong together more than those two! Eli is serious book boyfriend material. That man is the complete package! I loved how Cami discovered her independence and soldiered on at one of the worst times in her life. It shows us that good can still be found in some of the darkest times and that the dark doesn’t last forever. That epilogue was everything!! I can’t wait for Ryan and Kendall’s story!
4.5 Stars
I’m not gonna lie I was a tad skeptical about this one at first. Reading about a couple that’s living through the pandemic and living through it myself at the same time is interesting. I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about it because I’m struggling myself. I gave it shot because Kennedy Fox wrote it. I’m so glad I did because it gives you a sense of hope everyone is looking for. If you’re reason for not wanting to pick this book up is because of the pandemic please don’t because you are going to miss out on a great book. I loved Eli and Cami. They accidentally get stuck together in the lockdown in her families cabin. They have history because Eli is best friends with Cami’s brother. They have known each other since they were kids. Now the feelings they have one another have no where to hide. This book had me hooked. I loved where this book went. The end was awesome and I like the little set up for the next book.
We are all in unprecedented times with this Covid 19 pandemic so for Kennedy Fox to write a love story that takes place during it can give us a little escape from reality. They truly captured not only people’s hopes and fears but also the stupidity some people are showing during this time. To me this story could very well be a true life story. I love the enemies to lovers trope and especially the Live PD game! That had me laughing out loud! I can do relate since I am a religious watcher of the show! It’s a must read- a quarantine must read!
So this pandemic apparently is not only wreaking havoc in real life but also to two characters that needed this huge push to see what has always been there between them. The latest by Kennedy Fox was exactly what we are going through right now but with a sexy distraction like Eli Ross. Have to say I applaud Eli in this book because man Cami was not making it easy. One minute I was laughing, crying yes because of what happens seeing the virus hitting home and most of all cheering for Cami. We see her see that she is much more than just a girl in the fashion world with rich parents and a socialite but making her see her reach her full potential. Kennedy Fox really went in there with this book not only showing us really this virus for real but what happens after and showing us that being in quarantine is not always safe. By far this book gave me all the cheers and emotions from this book a favorite of Eli and Cami cannot wait to see what she does with Ryan and her best friend.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
I absolutely loved Cami and Eli, the banter between the two of them was hilarious.
These two knew each other since kids, as they grew up Eli started picking on Cami like any boy with a crush. After a mix up and the two ending up at the family cabin to ride out the pandemic increasing in New York. Cami growing up in a rich home didn’t know the basic life skills. Cooking and laundry were things she was never taught with having maids at home. Even with all the teasing Eli was happy to teach her new things. With being stuck in the cabin together for weeks with these enemies become more.
It wasn’t until I finished reading this story that I realized what a great trope isolation is for romance fiction. It’s the equivalent of close proximity just with a deadly virus thrown in the mix. And there is nothing that develops better than close proximity in a friends to something more romance. It’s relatable. Yes, it’s real because we’re in it but if we weren’t, these ladies are talented enough to give us a real relatable story. You don’t have to take my word for it, just read the book 😉
It’s no secret I’m a fan of this author duo, I’ve mentioned it a time or two, so I’m not going to go on and on about their talent because I’ve done that many times before. I’ll just tell you that I enjoyed reading this story because it was easy (yes, well written and well developed lol). Cami and Eli were fun even when they were bickering! The chemistry was just great and made the story go by really fast! A lot of great zings in this book. I’m really looking forward to how they develop the rest of the friends in this series!

This is a story I didn’t know my anxiety needed. While I was a little concerned how it would make me feel, I’m so happy it exists.
The Two of Us, takes place during the current pandemic but the romance truly takes center stage in this story. The forced proximity trope is becoming a quick favorite of mine and I really enjoyed the added enemies-to-lovers trope in this book.
Cami and Eli, just like all of us are forced to quarantine and they both end up at Cami’s family cabin. Watching them go from annoyed to fiery attraction to head over heels in love was so beautiful to watch. I couldn’t get enough of their banter, love, and connection and their pets were such a fun addition to the story!
I’m so excited that there are going to be more books in this series with the forces proximity trope. I especially can’t wait to get my hands on the next book, The Best of Us.
Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.
This was such a sweet funny contemporary romance that had me laughing and swooning. What do you do if you there’s a pandemic going around and you’re left isolated with the one person you can’t stand. Cami is trying to control her anxiety and get out of the city to not get infected. All she wants is to make it to the cabin and enjoy her quiet time with her boyfriend. What she wasn’t expecting was to meet Eli there. I was swooning and rooting for Cami and Eli. These two are total opposites but perfect for each other and I couldn’t get enough of them.
Another unputdownable read from Kennedy Fox!
I fell in love with Eli and Cami. They are two characters who are so opposite, and yet, they work perfectly together. They had this undeniable chemistry that was shown through their witty banter, and constant back and fourth physical attraction to one another.
There were many moments where I was holding my breath, and my heart rate certainly picked up. I was worried about what the outcome of this novel would be. There were times, where I was genuinely shocked by what was happening, and yet, at the same time, it fit with the storyline perfectly.
This novel does deal with very real situations, but the authors handled it with such care and ease, that it makes you truly think about what is happening in the real world. It will make you worry, however, it will also show you that there is light at the end of the tunnel, and with optimism, and a positive attitude, we will make it out of the tunnel together.
This novel is one that it so relevant to the times right now, that everyone needs to go and read this phenomenal book.
5/5 Stars!
I love it when theres a newKennedy Fox book!!! I devoured this book in 1 sitting!! The Two of Us was so good!! Cami and Eli have some major hate/love chemistry going on and it is electric!!! Cami is a “rich girl” but is far more capable that Eli gives her credit for and Eli is all man, so sexy, and he can cook!! This book was full of humor, passion, and 2 very entertaining characters!!!
Eli and Cameron were such a fun read. They were total opposites. She was his best friend little sister and he was the best friend that was the help son but still was best friend with the rich family son. They both ended up by mistake at Cameron’s family cabin my mistake and it was hilarious. These two wanted to kill each other but as the days passed slowly but surely they started tolerating each other and then fell in love. They then couldn’t live without each other. Eli was afraid that Cameron family will reject him since he thought she was too good for him but nope it was the total opposite. These two brought out the best in each other. The epilogue?! Hilarious!!!! I can’t wait for book 2 since we will see more of these two.
This book was done in a way that made everything we all are going through in the world very raw and real (in a way some of us may not think about).
Cami and Eli have to go through so much being quarantined.
Eli thinks he will have the place to himself for quarantine and is ready to do all he can for work. Cami is expecting to quarantine with her boyfriend. However, things don’t work out as planned when Eli shows up. Can these to get along long enough to survive?
Will the chemistry between Cami and Eli end up as more or will circumstances put an end to it?
Kennedy Fox did an amazing job creating this book about a real world situation without making it out to be something it is not. I can’t wait to read the next book in the Love in Isolation series.
Cameron is trying to stay healthy during a pandemic so goes to her family’s cabin. She just wants to be alone but she’s in for a surprise when Elijah shows up. He’s been her brother’s best friend for years but there’s always been tension there. Will they get long or one of them not make it? Do they really not like each other or is something else going on?
This is another story set in the world we are living in now. It has so many actual examples of this pandemic reality we are still a part of. And in the end, it kind of took its fictional status to kind of predict the future or near future. All I can say is that I hope things don’t go on quite that long. Another year of online learning will really make me a bit scared for my job as a school librarian. But that’s beside the point.
A little different than my last book that I read set in today’s events, this one actually has the COVID-19 directly affecting our main characters. One of them had, Eli, has asthma, and so the whole time I was worried about him getting it as soon as I found out. But not only do we deal with sickness, we have to worry about people taking advantage of others in this in the outside world as well. There is danger from all directions. The love story itself is easy enough, even while Eli makes Cami hold out and he woos her as seems appropriate for the story. Their background is a perfect place to begin the story as well.
Now at first I was afraid I wouldn’t like Cami, as she actually seemed to fit right into the wealthy girl, Paris Hilton type of stereotype. But when we got her side, and saw how her life had been, and why she was that way, it made a bit more sense. And made her someone more easy to like and root for. Another thing I really liked about this story though, was all the kind of pop culture of the time it brought in. Like the TikTok thing where girls were surprising their boyfriends by walking in naked on them while they were playing video games. That got a bit in this story.
If you’ve had personal connections to people who are sick right now, or who were, this might be a hard read for you. But the romance is good, the story is good, and it fits. The reason I marked down to 4.5 was because the ending seemed to kind of drag on. I like though that we do know the next book will probably be Cami’s brother and her best friend also having a similar type of trapped together forcing them to face their feelings. But if we get her brother’s time spent as a doctor in NYC during all of this, that will probably be really intense and even harder to read than this one.
When NYC goes on lockdown Cami wants to escape the city so she decides to go to her family’s cabin where her original plans get changed quickly when her brothers best friend shows up there for some isolation himself. Neither is happy that the other is there but without any choice they try to cope and what transpires next is a great read
Enemies to lovers tropes are what I live for and Cameron and Eli brought it!! The Two of Us was wonderful and I truly enjoyed watching these enemies turn to lovers in the middle of a pandemic! Cameron and Eli couldn’t be any more different but that doesn’t stop the fire burning between the two of them! Kennedy Fox did an absolutely fantastic job with the sensitive subject of what’s going on in our world right now and I highly recommend everyone reading it!
