***** AUDIOBOOK REVIEW *****
I almost thought, why would I want to listen to a book that centers on the pandemic. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Kennedy Fox but I also enjoy a good break from real life. I’m glad I jumped in, Cameron and Eli do great job of reminding us of ways to keep ourselves safe and healthy. It’s an important reminder while still being a fun story. It’s refreshing to see a story where there’s issues along the way with the stress of the a
Oh my, Eli!! I wasn’t ready for Eli! He was the swooniest book boyfriends! The level of romance in his arsenal is just the SWEETEST thing ever! The Hallmark movie reference is on point! Make sure there’s something around you to keep you grounded so you don’t fall while you swoon… this one has dangerous swoon levels! Cameron really changes over the months. She started out being being very pampered and ended with some very helpful skills under her belt. She impressed me with her sheer determination.
The narration by Tor Thom and Emma Wilder was delightful. Emma Wilder did a great job really channeling the hard-working pampered princess. There were times I felt the anxiety right along with her. I loved the humor these two pulled from each other. Tor Thom was the sweetest Eli. I’ll be real and say I didn’t care for his Detective voice and I’m super happy it was a very small part. Besides that, Eli really sounds fun and sweet. It was a great story and narration.
Audio review
This lovely romance, set in this time of pandemic, is a welcome distraction and filled with hope and optimism. Cami and Eli are two sweet souls and their live story is beautifully performed by two talented narrators. Emma Wilder is particularly expressive and very adept at portraying male voices. I am eager to hear Ryan and Maddie’s story now!
The Two of Us
Love in Isolation, Book 1
By: Kennedy Fox
Narrated by: Tor Thom, Emma Wilder
In times of a pandemic, people must quarantine! Cami is finishing out her last semester at NYU and where better to seclude herself than at her brother’s cabin? Eli, her brother’s best friend is also there, unbeknownst to her. And from here our story begins! These two have grown up together. Being Ryan’s best friend and their housekeeper’s son gives Eli an edge. He knows Cami and exactly what buttons to push to annoy her. But now is not the time. This unexpected circumstance gives Eli the chance to work on that secret crush he has always had on Cami. Little does he know her feelings. Will they find love? Will they stay safe? What happens next will show you exactly what happens. Kennedy Fox comes out with a book relevant to the times, full of witty banter, serious issues and a love that makes your heart sing. It’s a wonderful listen.
Tor Thom and Emma Wilder bring this gem to life with a dual narration to melt your heart. With Cami and Eli, there are high emotions, from grief to fear to love, all given to us with the inflections and nuances only these two narrators can give. I loved this team, each bringing their own style to their characters. These two made me laugh and smile, perfect for my weekend listen.

What a wild ride of a storyline! Cami and Eli grew up together, but essentially on other ends of the track. Cami is a socialite while Eli is the son of her family’s housekeeper. Always annoyed by each other but secretly crushing as kids, they end up quarantined together through the divine thinking of Cami’s brother, who is also Eli’s best friend at their family’s cabin. At first they are super unhappy that they are having to quarantine together, but as they spend time together, the truth about the past and their feelings come through. Once they decide to start a relationship is when the wild ride of this storyline comes through as they navigate quarantine and the extreme restrictions set in place. I was absolutely not expecting where the story went and the twists and turns but it kept me highly entertained, especially during this time where the plot of the book is more relevant than others. Overall, it was an enjoyable read, and gave us enough about the next book to entice me and hook me so that I can’t wait to read!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I loved, loved this story!!!! Eli and Cami were everything, thank you Kennedy Fox for writing about anxiety attacks and the real world! I can’t wait to see what the next book brings!
I loved this book! Cameron and Elijah could no be more different if they tried. They end up both being isolated in her families cabin for the remainder of this pandemic and somehow have to keep from killing each other. They have some hilarious interactions that make you wonder how she would have survived out there if Elijah hadn’t shown up. I enjoyed reading what they though about each other and reading how they grow and form a bond together.
Eli peeks his head inside before opening the door wider. “You okay? I could hear you pacing up here.” I blow out an unsteady breath and nod. “Just working through a panic attack.” Placing my hands on my knees, I slouch over and close my eyes. “Jesus, Cami. Let me help,” he says, stepping inside.
They support each other when one is down and help wherever they can. I loved all the ups and downs of this book and can not wait for more!
I have received a free copy of this book for an honest review.
This was a very unique storyline especially right now with everything that is going on in our world today. But let me tell you I was pulled right into this one and couldn’t stop reading until the end. I absolutely loved it and loved how well written it was. Kennedy Fox wrote this one beautifully. All the feelings and emotions that every single person is feeling right now with this isolation going on.
The world is in the middle of a crisis. Cameron is going to hide out at her parents cabin until it is safe to be at home. Little does she know that her life is going to change while she is away at the cabin.
Elijah needs to get away from the city and his roommates. His best friend offers his parent’s cabin. When he gets there he realizes that he will be spending the time with the one girl that he has had a crush on forever and a day. But Cameron doesn’t feel the same. Things are a little tense when these two first get together at the cabin. But as the days go on things start to smooth out between them. I absolutely loved the chemistry and banter between these two. I laughed, cried, felt all the feelings while reading this one. These two were amazing together trying to stay strong while everyone fights this thing going on. Cameron and Elijah were fighting their feelings for each other. A well written down right enjoyable book. I highly recommend reading this one. It will bring a smile to your face during this difficult time.
I absolutely loved Cameron and Eli from start to finish. The chemistry, the banter, the angst had me sucked in. I could t get enough. Eli was honestly the sweetest….totally swoon. I can’t wait to see what is in store for Ryan and Kendall!
Wonderful romance to help ease the stress of isolation. I enjoyed Cameron and Elijah’s journey and it provided a way for me to experience quarantine life in a new way, alleviating some of the stress and craziness. This couple get a second chance at love. They met as kids, Cameron is the rich heiress, planning to take over her family’s fashion business, while Elijah’s Mom used to work for Camie’s family and he got to come along allowing him to become friends with Camie and Ryan, her brother. Elijah has loved Camie for years but in high school, Camie pushed him away as she embraced her future and the friends that went with it. With the order to quarantine, Camie escapes to the family cabin in upstate New York to finish college and enjoy the quiet and solitude. Elijah is sent to the same cabin by Ryan to get away from his roommates that aren’t taking the pandemic seriously. Of course, neither expects the other to be there which creates all kinds of drama. I love that this couple already knew each other but had always held back their true feelings. Being forced to live together and deal with the stress that the pandemic has pushed into their lives forces them to be real and honest. It’s not all fun and games which surprised me along the way and kept me devouring each page.
Pandemic + Isolation = reassess life
Eli + Cameron = Love. Adoration. Warmth.
Kennedy Fox have done it again! This is a curve ball from their writing… for me anyway… I didn’t see it coming… I was questioning…how can you write about finding love in isolation with this pandemic and oh boy this book smack me in the face for proving me wrong! They have done it amazingly. I find myself nodding to every word I’m reading because it’s how I felt during this tough times…they told this story with the understanding of the situation we are all in and the delivery is spot on.
Bruno! Eli’s dog definitely made an impression with me … Bruno scared me! Ha but Bruno won me over.
The way Kennedy Fox wrote the story of Eli and Cameron is heavenly delightful. I so love it.
Eli is may new crush!
Cameron (Cami) and Elijah (Eli) wind up getting stranded during a pandemic. They are certainly not happy about this. Their story is so funny, sweet and a little scary.
I really enjoyed their story and had a lot of trouble putting it down and am definitely looking forward to Ryan’s story!!
I don’t think I was ready for a book about a couple in isolation to flatten the covid curve. I think I am still living in that world and I wanted to escape reality not live in it. The book was well written and I still enjoyed Cami and Eli, they were likeable characters, their story was fun and cute but I made the mistake of picking this one up too soon for me. Still good and would recommend.
I actually read this out of order. As I read Kendall and Ryan’s book first. So I at least knew they would get a HEA. But wow did they have a lot of craziness before that. Loved their banter and bickering. Lol. You could tell they had tension and chemistry. Loved the book from a medical perspective. After living through the pandemic as an ICU RN in NY. You could really see the research and time spent on being a hate about the state of NY at that time. loved the book and can’t wait for more.
“Warning Spoilers” I totally agree with the pandemic in NY part of this story but I’m sorry other than that this story didn’t grab my interest.
When I first started this story, I thought “Hmmm… might be too soon for a Covid/Quarantine story.” Let me tell you, I. Was. Wrong. Holy moley, it was amazing. I’ve said this before and I will end up saying it in every Kennedy Fox book. They are the queens of a plot twist. I was a little upset my quarantine wasn’t like this story but with the plot twist, I’m a little glad.
“The Two of Us” is the first book in the “Love in Isolation” series. We meet Cameron and Elijah as they end up sharing her family’s cabin in upstate New York to isolate in the middle of the pandemic. They have known each other most of their lives, Eli is best friends with her brother, Ryan. The two start out as frenemies. Cami is rich and Eli is a working class man, the two have a history where Eli doesn’t think he’s good enough for her. But after spending so much time together, the feelings they have for each other begin to surface. And man, is it hot. Turn up the AC hot. And then comes the plot twist. Mind blown.
I loved how they showed Cami and Eli’s vulnerabilities. And I love how strong Cami becomes. And Eli is a dream. Kennedy Fox are so great at writing swoon worthy alphas and strong, wonderful women.
I was given a code to listen to the audiobook. Emma Wilder was fabulous. She’s one of my favorite narrators and her male voice is so good. Tor Thom was so great as Eli.
I absolutely loved this story!! I loved Cameron and Eli! They are fantastic together and man do they know how to push each other’s buttons. They grew up together and while they were friends when they were little, about the time Cameron started to become a teenager they started not getting along due to some misunderstandings and insecurities. The isolation forces them to be close together and in the process of learning to work together to deal with what they had all of the sexual tension bubbles to the surface. I love how Eli wanted to wait so that they knew it was more than just physical. I loved the build between the characters on both the emotional and the physical level. They knew a lot about each other because they did grow up together and Cameron’s brother is Eli’s best friend. I loved watching them overcome the obstacles that kept popping up and how Cameron kept trying to expand her ability to take care of herself and Eli through those obstacles. This story did a fantastic job with the pandemic and isolation and questions that were happening everywhere at the time (and still are in a lot of ways). This story felt very real and believable and dealt with all of that really well. I was pulled in from beginning to end and I had to find out how Cameron and Eli were going to work through things together and what was going to pop up next for them. This story definitely held my attention and I can’t wait for the next book.
I listened to the audio book and really enjoyed the dual narration. They narrate by whose point of view the chapter is being told from. They did a great job with the voices and emotions and it added another layer to the story. I really enjoyed it.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Truly a book appropriate to 2020 with close references to the pandemic. I know I’ve been reading to get away from reality of the pandemic, but this was very realistic with good character building. You could feel their pain as each one got sick especially him with his asthma. I wouldn’t say it was a tear-jerker but there were moments where you could feel the emotional pain. There was a HEA, but just the story to get there…isolating in place, shortages in supplies both for at home and medical supplies, even with some drama with Elijah getting shot. All too real, but very well written.
So, this was my first quarantine romance! And I loved it.
Eli & Cami’s story was so fun and spicy. I listened to this one on audio and the narration was fantastic. It’s a brother’s best friend who annoys you but you secretly think he’s hot romance. And the brother’s best friend has been crushing on her since forever. And they are stuck together isolating themselves in a family home outside of the big city during a virus pandemic.
I want an Eli for myself. I could just picture how strong and sexy he is. *droool*. And the weay that he treated Cami… Well any woman would love that.
And I was pleased with Cami’s growth during this story. She really learned how to step outside of her comfort zones.
I will definitely need to get this in paperback because I am in love with the cover. It suits these two so well.
WOW!!! Very well written. Kennedy Fox created another gem. The chemistry between Cami and Eli is amazing! The banter between them is hilarious. Given current world events this story is very relative and spot on. Love all the drama. The story keeps you completely interested till the very end. Did not want to stop listening.
In comparison to all the other books by these authors, this one was severely lacking for me. A bit disappointing and drawn out. I appreciated the chemistry between Eli and Cami but it wasn’t the usual fireworks I normally get from them.
