Except Jade knows that as soon as she does, a far deadlier nemesis awaits.

Great book, entertaining
Lots of adventures, no resolutions, but a fun read.
The female lead is developed well across the three books. Interesting to see a Native American as a Mage vice a shape shifter. The concept of being, “different”, “on the run” and staking out territory in a “community of magicals” has been played out in other series, however. this strikes a new chord. The writing sets up some interesting interactions and situations that make me want to read the next installment because I have come to care what happens to the lead character.
It’s okay. I liked the first three books that I got for free, paid full price for the 4th, but not going to continue reading unless they are free or 99 cents. These are very short books or long novellas, so entirely not worth $3.99 a pop.
I read these because it was billed as an urban paranormal for “fans of Jim Butcher.” Well . . . if a small town in Idaho on the edge of a wilderness is urban, yeah, and if an indestructible protagonist is as interesting as the human wizard.
More please
Yay! Must love movie/game/book puns and nerd reference.
This is a wonderful series, with all the books in the series available. Jade is a sorceress, who hides as a hedge witch, because she is being hunted for her magic skills. Jade doesn’t want to be captured and her powers used for evil. Her best friend, Harper, is a bird shifter. There is a little background given and then the story really begins when Alex, a Justice for the Council of Nine, shows up at Jade’s store. He is there to evaluate her and see if she is too dangerous to live. And the action starts. This series is science fiction/fantasy, mystery, girl power, the depth of friendship, action packed, with a wonderful, evolving love story. For romance, sci fi, mystery, werewolf/shifter genre readers. There is magic as well. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this series.
I liked the strong female character choices: the comic store owner and the pro gamer for example. I also liked the story development and the interaction amongst the characters, including biases between “races” and the development of friendships as well as romances.
I loved the main character! She’s flawed but so likeable! And I can relate to sooo many of the nerd references! Each book in the series I read almost straight through! I can’t wait for book 9!
Good read
Couldn’t put it down
While the review compared it to the Dresden files : I might question that statement. It developed its characters quickly and it’s easy to feel you’re one of the crew.
A really great read, like the characters and interaction
