In book two of the series, Kate and Shade continue their romance. Rissa’s old lover makes an appearance and causes much havoc to get her back from her current mate, Alec. Rogues are on the loose everywhere and are coming out in high numbers. Shade must bring in more help, his own warriors to help keep them in check. He is still working for Alec, and they wonder who is behind the rogue attacks. Kate has made Luca promise to train her in the art of fighting behind Shade’s back. She does not get to see too much of Shade because he is on nightly patrol with the rest of his warriors. Her friend Shannon and Luca have special vibes about one another…but can and will she accept his world? The time for the turning is coming fast and Kate must be ready for the transition. This book has more action, more love interests, and delivers another side to many characters found in the first one. Plus, there is a war occurring where no one knows who the mastermind is! All of these things are tied to one woman and one man! The cost of betrayal will come high, many underestimate Kate, new warriors arrive, new killings happen, and so much intrigue…you will not want to miss the latest installment of the Medici saga! Emily Bex managed to outdo herself with book two of the series! I received this as an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.
I couldn’t put it down. I’m so happy for Luca and Shannon. Kate will make an aweso.e Queen!!! A must read!!!
I absolutely love this series the story it’s got everything I love great characters hot scenes intrigue betrayal hot vampires great story
They just keep getting better and better! I love how long these books are and I have fallen HARD for Shade. I can’t wait for the next one to see more of Kate’s new journey
“…an eternity didn’t feel like enough time to share it all, or to express to him how deeply she loved him. She’d die for him. She’d kill for him. There was nothing she’d ever let come between them…”
In The Turning, Emily Bex picks up her epic vampire romance where she left off in the Blood Covenant, with Kate fighting the demons of Hell to complete her journey to immortality and remain forever with her mate, Shade, the King of the Medici Warriors. But their path to fulfilling the formal mating ceremony is filled with treachery from within, and another Master vampire may soon lay destruction to all Shade holds dear…
The Medici Warrior series is filled with all the drama, action and smexxy romance I’ve come to expect, and I can’t wait for the next installment! Would recommend to fans of this genre!
I will definitely be looking for the next book
Kate, a former marketing and ad executive, and Shade, a master vampire warrior and king, are starting to recover from their loss and find their back to each other. As the story progresses a path is chosen, the danger does not leave, and even when they think everything is fine, there is much more waiting in the wings. Emily Bex’s The Turning is more concise than her first book The Blood Covenant. This is still a long read but more enjoyable with relevant story content included versus multiple versions of the same scene. If her writing continues along this same trajectory I can see where she has a promising writing career. I will definitely be looking for her next book in the Kate and Shade saga considering they get a happy for now with the hope of a happy ever after in book six.
I loved to see the continuation of the romance between Kate and Shade. The interplay between Alec and Rissa was interesting as well. The book has excellent well written characters to love and hate.
This is second book on The Medici Warrior Series. Kate and Shade continue their romance. This story has more action, more love interests and you will see other sides of characters found book one. There were things I didn’t see coming. I really feel it’s one of those books you have to experience for yourself. I will say the characters are phenomenal, they are all so well written. I can’t to continue reading the series.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
A stunning piece of work by Emily Bex on her second book in this series. This is one wild adventure, you can not predict what will happen next. So much action and romance. In her second installment, Bex weaves more characters that take hold of you and wont let you go. This is an epic piece of work that is well designed and written. You definitely feel as if you live within this incredible vampire world. I highly recommend this read if you love paranormal. This isn’t the norm, this is outstanding story telling, one that you can not put down.
This is book 2 of this series and it is explosive! It does tell a remarkably visual and stunning story. I am afraid I might start word vomiting if I say to much! But I suspect that if you have not heard of Miss Bex yet? Well you are in for one heck of a surprise! This series has depth and is created with finesse and adds a bit of mystery and suspense within this gripping and evolved story! Get this series! It has what every vampire reader wants and needs! It is a saga worth your time and your love!

Another winner!
I loved this book as much as the first one! It is cram packed with action, adventure, love, pain, and almost every other emotion you can conjure up, not to mention off the charts sex scenes (blush). I had a hard time laying it down, drawn to these characters and their story! It is very well written, the story-line is intense, and you can ‘feel’ the characters emotions! I am already well into book three and there has never been a dull moment in any of the books so far! My only concern is that there are supposed to be three more books to this series, if I understand correctly, and I am going to hate having to wait on the next three! Emily Bex has one heck of an imagination, and I, for one, am impressed! Hurry up and write, Emily!
