Loved how this book ended. Must read!!! Great story of forgiveness and things turning out wonderful.
Ever heard the expression come to a place to visit and never leave? Well, I think it should be, Come to Poppy Creak to READ and never Leave. This is the second book based in Poppy Creek and while you can read each book as a stand-alone but who would want to do that? We met Eliza Carter and her precious son Ben in The Clause in Christmas and this is their book now. BUT more so than that, this is a book about the town and all the quirky fun-loving characters. I think that is the reason I simply can not put down the books once I start reading them. Each book tells a story about characters, this time we are getting Eliza, Ben, and Grant’s entire romance. But not only that we get to see the town through their eyes and how life has changed them. Good, bad, or not at all. Author Rachael Bloome has an amazing way with words that allows me to see this beautiful town and all the quaint shops and yes delightful people. I want to pull out my paints and start painting them right now myself.
Back in October I read the first book, ‘The Clause in Christmas’, in this Poppy Creek series. I was so enamored with it, that I couldn’t wait to read this second one. I have fallen in love with this quaint town and wonderful people. I wanted to see what happened next. While Cassie and Luke are getting ready for their wedding, Eliza’s story unfolds. Despite the hurt from their past, Eliza and Grant get their second chance at true love and a beautiful future. Now that I’m completely hooked on this sweet, romantic series, I can’t wait to dive into the next one and escape reality for awhile. Well done!
Love, love, love! The Truth in Tiramisu is a beautifully written sweet and clean romance. This is part of a series (which I highly recommend), but can be read as a stand alone. The vividly described setting, realistic and adorable characters, and fantastic storyline make this a must read.
I loved this book from beginning to the end! Rachael Bloome does an amazing job bringing us into Grant and Eliza’s world. The settings are incredible. You feel every emotion, smell all the treats Eliza bakes, and see all the sights of Poppy Creek. Amazing read!
The Truth in Tiramisu is a wonderful, heartwarming, sweet romance. Ms. Bloome writes the best stories and fascinating characters. Eliza, Ben and Grant just seemed like the next door neighbors. Grant’s mother is a real piece of work. There are a lot of secrets that keep the action moving in the story. I could not put it down and got to bed at 5:30 am!
It was such fun returning to Poppy Creek because I especially liked the first book in this series. This book was very enjoyable too. I liked the intrigue of Eliza’s mystery throughout the story. I also enjoyed Luke and Cassie’s wedding and their heartfelt wedding vows. It was so nice to read about Eliza and Grant’s story. The best part of Poppy Creek are the characters who have touched my heart and given me hope too. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Poppy Creek is a town I would like to live in. I enjoyed meeting Cassie and Luke in the first book. Now we get to find out more about Eliza and her son. She and Cassie are opening a cafe together. Grant, Eliza old high school boyfriend comes to town because if Luke’s wedding and to visit his parents. This is a humorous romance that I enjoyed. Thanks Rachael for my ARC copy. Read to see if Elisa and Grant rekindle old flames.
What a beautifully written story about Eliza. Eliza is a single mother to her adorable son, Ben. Everyone thinks she got pregnant by a tourist passing through town and we will learn if that’s true or not. Eliza and Cassie, who is marrying Eliza’s best friend, Luke, are going into business together. Eliza handles the baking, while Cassie is all things coffee. Grant returns to Poppy Creek from San Francisco, a successful web designer. Grant and Eliza were high school sweethearts, but she ended things with him, before he left. I’m not going to tell what happens because I want everyone to read this book and fall in love with the town of Poppy Creek and all of these wonderful characters. Rachael Bloome is a talented writer and she will have you flipping the pages until you reach the end. I’m already looking forward to her next book, that’s how much I love her writing. Grab your copy and see if you agree with me.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
This story is the second in the Poppy Creek setting, and I loved it just as much as the first. Now you can absolutely read this without reading the first book, but you will get so much more out of it if you read in order.
Eliza is the sweets half of the town bakery and coffee shop, and the story kicks off with revisiting the shadow Eliza thought she had seen at Christmas at the end of book one. She’s a kind woman, a great baker, and a single mother to a young boy (Ben), who you first meet in book one. It’s also known that she doesn’t discuss who the father of her son is.
When a local has a wedding coming up, a lot of old faces descend on the small town of Poppy Creek – including one that she is both horrified and thrilled to see. Ben’s father doesn’t know he has a son, and she’s not sure if she should tell him. The obvious question becomes, why didn’t she tell him before? Don’t discount her out of hand, the reason may surprise you.
The theme of this story is second chances at happiness, and the main couple plays into that beautifully. I liked them both, and I loved the natural flow of the relationship with the father and son – before they even know who they were to each other. Overall, a heart-warming read and sweet romance that is perfectly fine for any age.
Eliza and Grant oh my!!! This book gives you all the feels – happy, sad, frustrated, even a little angry but in the end you get a hea.
In the lovely town of Poppy Creek , we have the upcoming wedding of Cassie and Luke, the opening of the new cafe and the return of a hometown boy. Love this series, the town is beautiful, the characters are true to life. Absolutely enjoyable read. I was given a free ARC by the author. My review is freely and honestly given
Welcome to The Hart of Dixie meets Cedar Cove in this wonderful book two from the Poppy Creek series. The town of Poppy Creek comes alive through the pages, as do the smells of the bakery and freshly roasted coffee. Make sure you have your sweet tooth read because you’ll be hungry reading this book. Not only was the story a wonderful read, but wow, there are a few surprises I didn’t see coming and I loved them! I can’t wait for book three to release. I loved Grant and Eliza’s story of hope and forgiveness and if you’re a Hallmarkie, you will too!
