Age is just a number.Just like he’s just a boy and I’m just a girl.Except that’s not true, is it?Because fifteen may be a number, but it’s bigger than that. Bigger than us.It’s a number that separates us.An excuse that keeps us apart. But I’m not willing to give in until I get what I want. After all, how many other girls can bring a grown man to his knees with one little smile?
WOW…this story is one that will stick with me for a long time. Even though I have finished the book….I am still thinking about Charlie and Ollie’s story. I loved the forbidden age gape romance from beginning to end. It’s tastefully and beautifully written. Charlie and Ollie’s amazing journey brought out so many emotions in me and I felt their pain, their love, and their fear of what others would think if their love was discovered. I honestly rooted for them from the very beginning and all the way till the very end. My feelings are still so raw even while writing this and I just want to go back and re-read it all over again. That’s what I call an amazing read. I am adding this to my list of BEST Reads of 2019 for sure. I highly suggest that you grab this one up and devour it!!!

Happy Reading Everyone!!!
The Truth About Tomorrow is a contemporary, stand alone, age-gap, taboo romance from this new to me author.
I’m still reeling from the emotions I got from reading this amazing, gripping, wonderful book. So, I’m sorry if I will sound speechless because I am. I will skip some details because you need to dive into this blind to fully feel its beautifully crafted world. You have got to read this!
I must have been living under a rock to miss reading this author, so I will proceed to check her other work. Highly recommend it!
I want to start by saying not all books are for everyone and that is okay. It happens. I read romance to get lost in stories and escape reality. I know The Truth About Tomorrow by B. Celeste will not be for everyone and again, that is okay. This is the story of Charlie and Oliver (Ollie). They have a fifteen years age gap and their story truly starts when she is 16. Something changes between them. This is a forbidden and taboo romance. It was sad, emotional, full of angst and will take you on quite the journey.
Charlie has not had an easy life. She is broken and lost but found what she needed with her adoptive family. This is where she meets Ollie. Ollie is older and though he has had a good life, he is not happy. Together they share an undeniable connection. This is a very slow burning story with all kinds of feels. The Truth About Tomorrow by B. Celeste spans years in the life of Ollie and Charlie and we get to see them struggle and grow separately and together.

Happy reading!
I have officially jumped down the rabbit hole that is angsty, kept me teetering on the fine line between love and hate, understanding, and confusion, darkness, and light that is B. Celeste – and I am not quite sure if I am ready to come back out yet!
Holy mind wreck!
A gripping tale of the darkness in two lost souls, this romance is not for the faint of heart. B. Celeste draws a compelling, detailed, heart twisting, sometimes maddening relationship between the individually different, broken pair- Charlie and Oliver.
Intricately detailed, with so much heart gah! This storyline keeps sucking me in.. I am fully invested now- more than ever!
Just because it’s a work of fiction doesn’t mean it feels like it! There are so many feels, so many thoughts, and so many reactions to catalog. I’m a hypocrite, a mother to a 16 girl…(whose name is Tatiana-FYI), and a hopeless romantic. My reactions, venting, ranting, and feels are going to be a jumbled mix of all those so I will try to label them for you.
The Truth About Tomorrow hurts. Fact.
As a parent to 16 year old girl, I struggled with this book. Fact.
My broken twisted heart cried out at the injustice of it all. Fact.
Those two “facts” make me a hypocrite and that fact proves I’m a hopeless romantic.
Reading the blurb for this book did two things to me:
1. It made my hackles rise and the angry mama bear start to roar.
2. I did that stupid giggle swoony, grin thing and sighed. I acknowledged (internally) that this book would tear me apart and then I smiled as I requested it.
You may not understand where I’m coming from but the feelings, the reactions, the gut clenching anger, and heartache over the heartbreak feel real. B. Celeste has created a story that sucks you in whether you want to be or not. Whether you can relate to a 16 year old girl’s wants or as the 30+ year old denying their wants, you are a part of this story. You aren’t watching it happen like a play. You aren’t a witness. You become either Charlie or Ollie. I was torn in two. I was both. The mom in me clawing at the disgust and the hopeless romantic in me fighting to wait, fighting to avoid calling the police, fighting for tomorrow but we learn very quickly that “promises are the sweetest lies” , whether we tell them to ourselves or others.
My biggest problem isn’t really a problem and so my being a hypocrite doesn’t matter because this book is a work of fiction. In no place does it say based on a true story. It is not autobiographical. So the momma bear got down off her hind legs, nudged her cub, and walked away on all fours without a backward glance. If your biggest issue is age and legality, remember this is a work of fiction. It doesn’t feel like one and it doesn’t read like one but that isn’t a reason to try and lynch the author. Your own guilt, desires, and hypocrisy should not be used to judge. It’s only a book. It’s not condoning, judging, or expressing an agenda. It’s merely a well written, expressive story about fictional people. So I can tell you how much I loved it. I can tell you that Ollie is an amazing person. I can tell you that I’m proud of the people they became and the stories they have left to tell.
I can also tell you if this were real life my reaction would be more Everett than River. One hit would never be enough. And it would probably eat me up inside but I would end him. So yeah, I’m a hypocrite but I’m okay with that.
I own my love for this story. I cringe at the idea of my daughter trying to confide this kind of thing to me. I cling to underdog stories and obscure loves found, nourished, and thriving yet I would go postal.
As long as you can embrace the hypocrisy and imbibe on the emotions, you will love The Truth About Tomorrow. Every painful admission, feeling, and promise…
“The truth about tomorrow is that it isn’t enough. Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. It isn’t promised. But it’s a start. ”

WOW! B.Celeste has definitely found her voice in the ‘forbidden’ world. I LOVED this book. It is one of the top reads of 2019 for me.
Go in to The Truth about Tomorrow with an open mind. As I took this ride with Charlie and Ollie, I felt every single emotion there is. I really enjoyed the build up. Watching both characters grow and work through their struggles made me want to fight for their relationship!
My heart broke for Charlie every time she released another secret from her past. The sessions with her therapist allowed me to understand Charlie. Th
Oh Ollie. Sometimes those with shiny exteriors do everything they can to hide what is inside. We are first introduced to Ollie in The Truth about Heartbreak. I liked him then, but this was so much more! Call me Ollie Obsessed!
Wipe away your expectations of this book, and go in blind! B. Celeste is now on my automatic one-click list!
A twisted tale of love, longing, and temptation. The story will break your heart (for many reasons) but then put it together slowly was you keep reading. The slow burn will ensure you catch every detail and fact in this book. The characters are amazing and out of this world.
This author has taken a forbidden/taboo subject, age gap, and made into a beautiful tale of love, devotion, and second chances. The struggle that Charlie has with everything going on hits every heart strong you have. It is a tale of love that will drag you through a puddle of emotions, making you have to feel everything that this story encompasses. It is a masterpiece by B. Celeste that will stay with you long after the last page. She has shown her writing can compete with anyone and she weaves her magic with every story.
B. Celeste was amazing with The Truth About Heartbreak, but this proves she gets better and better with every book she writes. The ways she presents and describes things is an art.
Charlie and Oliver are two people who are struggling. Together, they bring out the best in each other (for the most part!). They have lots of muddy water to get through to find what they’re looking for. It’s not a pretty journey, but it’s a journey you will love because you see the struggles and things they overcome. It’s a tale that will leave an everlasting impression on your heart.
The Truth About Tomorrow by B.Celeste is the story of Charlie and Oliver ‘Ollie’.
Charlie has had a very abusive and heartbreaking childhood until she was adopted at the age of 13 by Everett and River. Charlie connected quickly with Ollie who is River’s adopted brother in addition to be about 15 years older than her. They were close friends with no other real feelings until she turned 16 they things were slowly changing between them. I think there is a previous book with River and Everrett’s story but I haven’t read it yet…so for me this was a standalone book. I did enjoy their story and would like to go back and read that story too.
The Truth about Tomorrow by B. Celeste was a good read. This is the first book that I have read by this author. B. Celeste is a new author for me to read as I am trying to read books out of my comfort zone. Although this book started out slow, it did take me a while to get into it. I would suggest reading the first book The Truth about Heartbreak in order to understand the characters in this book. I will be going back to read it.
The Truth about Tomorrow is about the forbidden love story of Charlotte Tucker, who goes by Charlie, and Oliver James, who goes by Ollie. Charlie is adopted by Oliver’s sister and brother in law when she is 14 years old. She has suffered a hurt that causes her to have bad dreams every night since coming to live with the couple. Ollie is the only one that can get through to Charlie. When Charlie turns 15, they have feelings for each other. Oliver is an older man and he knows that having feelings for Charlie is wrong.
Will Charlie and Ollie give in to their desires? Will Charlie finally live out her dreams? Will Charlie and Ollie get their happy ever after? You will have to read The Truth about Tomorrow by B. Celeste to find out! This book has plenty of suspense and some love scenes. I am so glad that I gave this book a chance despite it starting out slow.
Make sure to grab a copy of The Truth about Tomorrow by B. Celeste! You won’t be disappointed!
I feel like any words I write in this review aren’t going to do any justice to my feelings but I’ll give it a shot.
This book is so special. This story was a gutsy risk for the author and it paid off for me.
One of the ultimate in forbidden romances.
A slightly uncomfortable age situation… But really a torturous, angsty, beautiful romance.
Some really gut-wrenching moments. It’s a story about two broken people that find each other.
And a story about the importance of really learning to love and accept yourself.
It pushes boundaries for the reader and the other characters in the story.
Stories like this give me life. Ollie and Charlie just owned me. I want more!
This. Book. Omg you guys. This has to be one of my FAVORITE reads of this year. I loved The Truth About Heartbreak but this book, it owned me. It broke me apart and stitched me back together.
Taboo. Forbidden. Those words perfectly describe this book. If you read TTAH, you know who Charlie and Oliver are. If you haven’t read TTAH, Charlie is a 16 year old girl who is a foster daughter to Everett and River. River is Oliver’s adopted sister. So in a way, Oliver is Charlie’s uncle. But not really.. If that makes sense.
Goshhhhh. This book was everything. It shows passion, pain, anger, fear, love, and hate. It gives you the whole spectrum.
Barbara does just a great job writing this story. From beginning to end I was entranced by the story. I couldn’t put it down. I devoured it. It devoured me. These books are my first reads from this author, but I am hooked. Any and everything she writes I will pick up.
After reading The Truth About Heartbreak I was desperate for more from Ollie. Sometimes you need to be careful what you wish for! This book was everything I was hoping it would be. It was forbidden and emotional and so addictive. The characters have this undeniable connection with an underlying chemistry that just seems to get better and better. I love anything or anyone off limits so I was stuck firmly on Ollie getting his HEA.
This is only the second book I’ve read from this author and each book has been impossible to put down. I don’t want to go into the story because I truly believe everyone should experience it for themselves but if you like an age gap romance with characters that will make you fall for them and plenty of angst, this is the book for you to check out. It may not be for everyone, it’s not what I’d personally class as taboo but if you can keep an open mind then I highly recommend this book. I can not wait for more from this author!
I have been sitting on this review for a couple months now, because I just haven’t known what to write to justify just how truly amazing Charlie &Oliver’s journey was. I just feel like no matter how much I do write, I am going to later think of all the things I wish I had added. This story has left such a mark on my heart, and it deserves the 5 stars that I am able to give it, and MANY more for the unbelievable story that this author was able to portray through the eyes of two very different people, forbidden from loving one another.
Charlie is 13 years old when the book begins, and you will see the friendship that starts between herself, and her step uncle Ollie. Ollie is significantly older than Charlie, but she is mature for her age because of life’s circumstances forcing her to grow up at a very young age. While the book may start with Charlie being 13, she does NOT start anything with Ollie until the age of 16. While this may still seem young, there was an early misconception that she was only 13 throughout the entirety of this story.
Ollie and Charlie have a connection. They get one another, and Charlie finds so much strength from the friendship fostered between the two. Ollie comes to recognize all the things that Charlie loves, such as her favorite treats, and he supports her interests, specifically in music. Oliver slowly but surely becomes her safe space over the years. Over time, the both find themselves having these forbidden feelings for one another. While Oliver beats himself up over and over again for his feelings, Charlie wants to move forward with hers, and tries over and over again to create a relationship between the two. The struggles that come along with this aren’t only between the two of them..they have to deal with outside views as well, leaving this relationship to be rocky, heart wrenching, and deliciously forbidden.
These characters aren’t written with polished edges. The reader will be given these characters with jagged edges, almost like puzzle pieces that are destroyed, but somehow fit together with one another. B.Celeste does such an incredible job of demonstrating a realistic experience between doctor and client. She shows what it is like to live with a mental health condition such as PTSD and Depression. The journey’s these characters are on are individual, and while they are each other’s safe spaces, they are forced out of their comfort zone, and are made to face their troubles head on. There is no sugarcoating. You will feel all of their emotions, including their pain, their confusion, their hope, finding forgiveness, and most of all, you will be a part of their experience to find themselves.
From day one, I have connected with Charlie more than I have ever connected with another character in any other book. She was real for me. Her emotions were mine. I couldn’t help but think that B.Celeste climbed into my own mind and used what she found to create Charlie’s character.
I know that a lot of people are concerned with the taboo/forbidden aspect of Charlie &Ollie’s relationship. What I would say to you is, everyone is different, if something isn’t for you, that is OKAY. But, if you think you can handle the story line, just know, this is SO much more than an age gap romance. It is SO much more. I think that most readers are going to come to find that they connected with this book a whole lot more than they thought they would. &That’s what makes it even more special. B.Celeste has more than earned her 5 stars. She has written a story that will push you, make you experience ALL the emotions, will break your heart, but then will put your heart back together, jagged piece by jagged piece.
Give Charlie &Ollie’s story a chance, because I highly doubt that you will have any regret over that choice by the time you reach 100%. &Even though many won’t agree with the content, I think that as a reader, you can’t help but respect it.
Such a huge age Gap! It was uncomfortable for me at first because in my mind it’s just wrong hahaha but Barb did such an amazing job with this story. I enjoyed it more than The Truth About Heartbreak and that story was phenomenal! Ollie just has this sweetness and familiarity to him, it’s no wonder Charlie fell for him. I can’t wait to get more delicious stories from B.!!!
Let me start with Warning : This is an age gap forbidden romance !! So Reader still give it a chance !!!
Me? I’m all about the age gap and taboo . B. Celeste nailed it ! I fell in love with Ollie and Charlie .
They were meant to be together .Ollie was such a good guy .He tried very hard to fight the attraction he started feeling for Charlie as she matured .They has this special bond .Charlie needed him so much .They understood what each other needed . They can’t help but start having feelings for each other .Once Charlie moved to Chicago she was able to let go and find herself and explore what she was feeling. She blossomed in her new surroundings and pursued Ollie and her feelings relentlessly .
I loved how the story flowed and fell into place . Their was so much depth and detail I was living their life .That’s how good it was .I needed to root for this couple because they were just meant to be !!.
Don’t miss out on one of my favorites of 2019. Can’t wait to see what else B. Celeste has up her sleeve in her next book.
Oh my heart. Finishing up this story….. this journey between Charlie and Ollie….. it was beautiful and heartbreaking in all the right ways. I was scared many times that this book wouldn’t go my way, or the author would gut me, and while she did gut me, she fixed me. It was a hard book to read with Charlie’s past and seeing her come into her own. I love seeing River and Everett from the first book. I loved meeting all the new characters, taking this beautiful, hard, magical trip. I can’t wait to see what this author writes next. 5 stars #2OCCJD
What a stunningly written book with a topic that is considered taboo-ish. This is a love story that transcends age. Both Charlie and Ollie are broken but recognize that they are kindred spirits. Watching their love story unfold is exquisite because of the emotions that the author wrenches from the reader. Loved it.
“The truth about tomorrow is that it isn’t enough. Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. It isn’t promised. But it’s a start.” ~ Ollie
This book absolutely blew me away! This was the first book that I have read of Barbara’s and I can’t wait to go back and read The Truth About Heartbreak! Ollie and Charlie’s story is definitely taboo/forbidden but their connection and chemistry was so heartfelt, raw and breathtaking that at times, you forget that there is an age gap between them. These 2 connected on a level that transcended all of the “reasons” that they shouldn’t be together. This book will stick with me and will certainly be one that I will be reading more than once!!
I have no idea where to start with this review except to say it was perfection everything I wanted and more.
It would be easy to get caught up in the forbidden aspect of the story but it is so much more. Charlie and Ollie have a very unique friendship. Despite the age gap he’s her best friend and someone she trusts. Once they crossed that line there was no going back. The author made me feel every look, every touch every feeling. They were like magnets drawn to each other by an irresistible pull.
That saying that love isn’t easy is so true for these two because despite the elation I felt at them together you just know the fall is going to come. Society and people just aren’t ready for their love. It’s not infatuation or an older man getting his kicks it’s a pure deep profound everlasting love.
Even if age romances aren’t your thing give this book a chance because what you will read is a truly beautifully written romance.
