The evil lies little girls are told… of a land forever cast in a dark and deadly ice age, seeking only power and control now that Wonderland had become a frozen ball of ice.
In this frigid and cold hole, I was alone.
Until HE found me.
White Rabbit.
Rabbit was the leader of the Wonderland army, and I was now his captive. Forced to learn the art of submission, as well as the art of war, I became his soldier. From the moment I was captured, I became a mighty warrior amongst a cast of mad men.
But I was HIS.
And Rabbit would do whatever it took to battle my demons as we battled the enemy.
Hidden in the broken, and shattered Wonderland hid a new truth… a happily ever after. It was now my duty to find it.

This is not your mother’s story about Alice in Wonderland. Nor are the characters like anything you’ve previously been lead to believe. Alta Hensley has given us a futuristic world of Wonderland covered in ice and snow with it’s occupants in a bloody war for survival. Which side is right and which side is wrong? You’ll have to make up your own mind when reading. But know this, Alice and Rabbit White, along with the Mad Hatter, will definitely try their best to influence your decision. Each character is fierce in their own right with personality traits that are so relatable. The storyline itself it told in such a way it just flows while keeping you on edge with the circumstances of war, the mystery that Alice is hiding, and we have a bit of discipline going on here. What a great read.
its a good book i recommend it.
The Truth About Alice is book 2 in the Evil Lies series, but is a complete standalone. A dark, and twisted version of Alice in Wonderland HELL YES!!!
The storyline was very fascinating, I was captivated by Ms Hensley’s wonderland world.
A dystopian fantasy which normally isn’t my go to book choice, but I knew it being from Alta Hensley I had to read it. She always has a way of captivating me with her storyline and characters.
Alice and Rabbit on opposing sides come together. It’s not easy for Alice to submit to Rabbit, but she does and these two are SCORCHING!!! I really LOVED every moment of this book! If you’re looking for a not so sweet, dark and twisted fairytale The Truth About Alice is PERFECT for you!!!
I read this story when it was Dark Feather and I did enjoy it. I love that the author expands it and added some new twists but also kept it the same feel. It was full of action and I loved the dialogue throughout the story. While it is Similar to the other book I could tell the differences. It was a fun read, some darkish undertone, and a well written read with a some twists.
I really don’t want to give too much away or really compare the two books, because while it’s been a while since I’ve read the other this brought it all back, but if you enjoy apocalypse type reads, awesome twists on the Alice In Wonderland fairytale, and want to take a journey, then this book will be perfect for you. 4 star #2OCCJD
This story was a fabulous read. It was dark and twisted and quite unique. I loved it!
Alice is a Penna with the options of fighting or being a breeder. Alice choose to fight until one day she had enough. She walk away from it all. Being on this dystopia land it will take two people from two different clans to come together to find love and start a new future. Alice and Rabbit connection is strong toward each other. Will they be able to have a future or will their war tear them apart? This book took you from despair to happiness. I was cheering for Alice to find love and being a strong woman to have the strength to move forward. I was not expecting to have feelings for this story when I started reading Alta book. She took this story on a amazing journey. Their was strength to walk away. Courage to move forward. Love to make a future. To expect more than fighting in a war to occupy land. When I started reading the story the first thing I thought about Alice was she is AWOL but then I realize she had enough of killing and taking. This story had me turning the pages to see what would happen to Alice. I enjoyed this book.

Alice is caught up in a war between the Cyans and Penna in the frozen Wonderland. She was an archer for the Penna but she was captured by White Rabbit and forced to work as a soldier in the war. The two are enemies but put it aside to become lovers. The true attraction between them shows from the start. This is a dark tale with plenty of spankings and other shenanigans. A good dystopian read.

This intriguing tale was a unique twist on Alice in Wonderland and not the childhood fairytale I remember. Intense, dark and gritty with a dystopian setting this book kept my interest constantly piqued. I enjoyed watching the connection between Rabbit and Alice grow as they learned to look beyond the differences meant to make them enemies. Though Rabbit was quite the ruthless leader Alice brought out the fierce and loving protector in him. I loved how he saw past Alice’s reckless and impulsive nature to the woman hiding behind the warrior. With all the twists and turns, constant action and steamy scenes The Truth About Alice was an unique retelling that kept me entertained until the last page.
The Truth About Alice is different from the first book of the series. Alice is a warrior and is tired of the fighting and the never-ending questions. So when Alice abandons her own kind and heads into Wonderland to intently die, she is surprised to come across the enemy’s camp.
Rabit can’t believe what he finds, a beautiful woman walking in Wonderlands freezing weather- a warrior from the other side. Alice is her name, and she is willing to fight for them.
Will Rabit and Alice be able to find a way to end this war that has been ravaging their kind for years?
This was definitely a unique spin off on Alice in Wonderland. I didn’t like this one as much as the first book in this series but it was definitely twisted and interesting read in its own way. Author managed to create a great dystopian future and I also enjoyed relationship between Alice and Rabbit.

Alta Hensley’s creativity and genius with the written word are all evident in this one. It flows beautifully, captures both the imagination and the emotions, and instead of just re-telling Alice in Wonderland she has taken the characters and made them her own. The detail Ms. Hensley puts into her world building is phenomenal and it’s easy to envision the desolate, cold, forbidding place Alice inhabits. The setting details are really important to me when the book I’m reading is more fantasy or sci-fi/dystopian. I don’t want to become bogged down in them, but I do need to “see” the environment. Ms. Hensley does an amazing job of detailing the world without making it boring. Another thing I really appreciated was the character names all being tied to the original. The strength and fierceness of Alice was great and the commanding Rabbit White was the perfect counterpoint to her. Their interactions were steamy and emotional and I loved them. I highly recommend this one to all romance lovers.
This is the second story in this series, but it can be read as a stand-alone.
I finished this book yesterday and I’m still speechless!
This book is about Alice, as a Penna and a woman, she has two options in Wonderland… Be a breeder or a fighter. She chose fighter and she’s regretting it. The war between the Penna and the Cyans is brutal! There is some serious action going on, I was on the edge of my seat.
She decides to walk away from the Pennas and find a neutral village to live her life but is captured by the Cyans. And we meet Commander Rabbit White…HUBBA HUBBA! This guy is hardcore all around and if he’s in charge…sign me up!!!!!
The war, the comradary, the inner struggles, the developing relationship between Alice and Rabbit…this book should be on everyone’s kindle!
The Truth About Alice was very different and not what I was expecting, but very interesting. It takes place in a frozen wasteland called, Wonderland. Now, this is no fairytale, it also holds very little in common with the original. It has a dark feel with lots of action and our erotic play. Alice is a mercenary and I instantly loved her spirit and the peace that she was wanting. Rabit was dark, dangerous and very intriguing. I enjoyed the plot and all the war that took place, the story was never boring. I read it start to finish in one sitting because I was captivated by Alice. She was very different than any Alice I’ve read and there’s just something about her that hooked me. I read the first book in this series and it’s nothing like this one. This book had a more intense connection between the characters instead of strait erotic. And that was what I loved the feelings these two characters held, the Love. I don’t typically like this type of dystopia/post-apocalyptic feel, but I enjoyed it and liked the Twist Hensley put on this story. I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.
This was definitely an interesting and intriguing new interpretation on the classic Alice in Wonderland. This Alice was a soldier who was a mutation. She got tired of fighting for her side and left and joined the other side and became Rabbits from the moment he saw her. She just didn’t know it. Interesting

The Truth About Alice is a dystopian fairytale with some dark and gritty twists set in the frozen wasteland of Wonderland. Alice’s journey of survival in a crazy dystopian world is an intriguing and unique one. I’ve read a few of the Alice in Wonderland retellings and none of them can compare to this author’s version. If you have ever read a book by Alta Hensley then you know this is going to be a captivating read! This is a definite adult only, must read and I highly recommend it.
Normally I don’t read the futuristic stuff but this one was a nice surprise. The language was very normal which usually in these types of books are unrecognizable and made up. Also the names were a cool thing. It was Alice but not lol. The dominant male character was such a traditional part it made the story better. I would definitely recommend this book. Although I do love all Alta’s books.

Alta has taken a fairytale and has completely turned it on it’s head! This dystopian story takes well known characters and introduces them in an entirely new setting, allowing all sorts of new dynamics to come into play. With ice, snow, cold, war, and death every day, this smoking hot story will keep you warm as you navigate the new Wonderland.
I really enjoyed this spin on Alice in Wonderland. This author’s interpretation took us on a journey to an apocalyptic futuristic world. Alice was a strong character and I loved her and Rabbit. This was a well written story with great characters.

Alice was a soldier with the Penna but she has decided to desert, knowing that if she is caught the penalty is death. Soon she finds herself caught by the Cyans, an opposing faction and they must decide if she is friend or foe.
But through that she meets White Rabbit who gives her a choice between sex slave or archer. Once again Alice makes the wrong decision and finds herself in the frozen tundra.
Can Alice prove herself to Rabbit and the rest of the Cyan and find the love she wants more than anything?
This was a good book and I am liking these altered fairy tales.
I really liked Alice but understood why she was done with the senseless killing as the war was going on and on and an end didn’t appear to be near. I liked that she was tough and fierce but still a woman. She knew she had to prove herself in battle to the Cyan and did a great job of doing so.
At first I really hated Rabbit as he was cruel to Alice but he never knew what her intentions were. Part way in you could tell that he actually cared about Alice and was going to do what he could to protect her but at the same time still letting her fight in battles.
I was so mad at the talks and everything that happened with that. I was hurt for the Cyan and so mad at the Pennas. I liked learning about Alice’s past with the Penna and more insight into why she left them.
I was shocked when Alice made a decision about the water well and how much danger she ended up placing herself in. I knew why she did it but I also understood why Rabbit was so mad about the situation.
The end was good and I was glad that the two groups finally found some version of peace!
Frankly, I’m obsessed with everything Alta Hensley writes. This is no exception. Phenomenal!
