They loved each other for a long time. Their parents were best friend. When they graduated high school he decided to follow his music career and he left her to follow hers to Paris for culinary school. 10 years later and they are both home a d still in love. A wonderful Christmas 2nd chance romance.
This the first book that I have read by this author and I will be reading more from her. The story and characters were great, I really enjoyed it. I love to read second chance/ friends to lovers books.
They loved each other from the days of youth; then, they broke apart due to life altering events. It takes ten years, different life-styles and they arrive back home to Bell Mountain for Christmas. What a Christmas it is! Chocolate, peppermint, cookies and pine-cone wishes for family brought new joy, healed heartache and found happiness in life. Then, once again, dreams crashed. This book that can be read any time of the year and enjoyed.
A Perfect Blend of Steamy Romance & Heartfelt Family Love for the Holidays!
I LOVED this book! I found myself unable to put it down. I’m not sure if it’s my own dream of being a baker, having a mother much like Mandy’s, or my love of the holidays, but I was so immersed in the storyline and setting of this book. Everything just seems to get better as you progress through the story and I really loved how the perspectives go back and forth between the main love interests. Overall a wonderful little holiday read that is just spicy enough with a lot of heartfelt romance. It also helps that Beau Tinsel is pretty much perfect <3
The Trouble With Tinsel is a sweet second chance romance. It also deals with the importance of family and the aftermath of loss. Mandy and Beau are likable characters and I rooted for them to get their HEA. Tommy is precious and the glue that holds the story together. How could Mandy not give Beau a second chance after watching Beau and Tommy together? Beau has so many qualities that make him a great guy. *sigh*
Mandy and her mother have had a strained relationship for years. Annie is passive/aggressive. I was pleased to see this issue was addressed and they were able to clear the air. They were on the way to a healthy relationship.
There are several secondary characters in the story that I hope get their own book. I mean, The Bads will be coming to town! Perfect situation for romances with the ladies of Bell Mountain. I will definitely read them if the author makes this a series.
I highly recommend reading The Trouble With Tinsel.

Favorite Quotes:
Tommy stared up at Greg and smiled like he was looking into the face of an angel. Greg had that effect on everyone. Something wonderful and happy arrived each time he did. He was hot chocolate on a frigid day and fuzzy socks on a cold morning.
The family portraits, once removed, were back in their place of honor, laid out like a game of solitaire on the entry wall. I’d always thought of them as personal greeters – kind of like visiting Wal-Mart and getting a friendly hello upon entering.
It was obvious why he sold millions of records. His voice alone could melt the pants off a frigid woman, but when you stirred that with sexual innuendo, no girl was safe.
His voice was like a poodle skirt – cute, and sweet, and all swishy.
This was the mom I’d longed for and in that moment, her arms seemed stronger than Superman, her compassion more than Mother Theresa, and her cunning could give the most talented con artist a run for his money.
My Review:
I enjoyed this clever second chance romance and found it to be among the best work I’ve read from Kelly Collins. It was a quick, sweet, relevant, and satisfying read that held my interest from beginning to end. The writing was easy to follow, entertaining, observant, insightful, and unfailingly engaging. The characters were endearingly flawed, well-meaning, and each had an interesting story to tell. Sprinkled with witty bits of humor and steam, the narrative was well balanced with regret over past mistakes (something we all carry), and hopes for betterment (something we all should have).
Great book to sit back and enjoy. Chapters are in main characters . You get their point of view and feelings.
THE TROUBLE WITH TINSEL is a lovely, lovely “second chance” romance. And Beau Tinsel & Mandy Sawyer are certainly deserving of that chance. They are wonderful characters that I would like as friends. Mandy’s son, Tommy, is adorable. Miss Collins’ description of the setting of the story makes it another character. I enjoyed reading this novel immensely & look forward to reading more of Miss Collins’ work.
Meddling mothers, rock star, a cute little boy and a second chance romance. This book made me smile. This is not high literature but a nice Christmas read.
