Her cats are here to stay. But is he? Beatrix Fuller’s income as a romance writer keeps her dozens of rescue cats in food and kitty litter, but she dreams of using a promised family inheritance to help build a state of the art cat adoption facility. To get the money, she has to present her fiancé to her father for approval at the family estate in Aspen, Colorado. The kink in this cat tale? The … Colorado.
The kink in this cat tale? The fiancé Bea’s told her family about for years is as fictional as the oh-so-perfect leading men in her books. She needs a fake fiancé fast, and she has two requirements: 1) must love cats and 2) no getting involved. Bea’s written romance long enough to know that false engagements lead to real relationships and she’s not interested.
Although photographer Sebastian Ross spends every morning shooting in the gorgeous Colorado mountains, buyers aren’t exactly lined up to purchase his work. After Seb responds to Bea’s posting for a fake fiancé, they make a deal: pretend to be madly in love for the sake of her cats and his ridiculously high rent. But if they so much as kiss, Bea will give up her favorite fur baby and Seb will sell his beloved Canon.
A foolproof plan . . . until something grows between these fools that looks a lot like love.

The romance is sweet and moments touching, pulling at your heart strings. The characters change and develop nicely as the book goes on. If you love cozy romances with humour and love pets they you will enjoy this one.
So I stumbled upon this Author. I read the prequel. I read book 1 and loved it and bought book 2. Also loved it so I bought book 3 and because I have a lot of confidence in Aimee, I preordered book 4. Aimee? If you read this review, you better get busy because I’m going through your books very quickly. This is fair warning: Get book 5 ready while I read 3 & 4.
I liked this book from the start and felt like the way it was written you could see and feel in your mind like you were living the story right along with her. I also think there are family members like her father who are always wanting us to live our lives like they want use to, even when we are up in our years, instead of learning that we can do a good job of making our own decisions. Beatrix did not want to get married, at first, she just wanted to enjoy her cats, but her father was holding her inheritance over her head. I like the way the author ended it!
Very cute. Page turner. Fast read.
I enjoyed the characters and the plot line was interesting. Liked it.
This book was fun and entertaining. I found it really enjoyable and it was a nice way to pass some time during lockdown. I’ve read a lot of really involved psychological thrillers recently and this was a nice, light change of pace.
The story was a little predictable, but enjoyable with good characters and an upbeat story line
Loved it.
Really enjoyed this one!
It was a well written story. A real page turner from start to finish. It was original.
It promised to be funny and it is. Yikes! Over 20 cats!!! And there is a cat restaurant? Wow! Weird person from weird family. Oh the tangled web…. but I liked the ending, just took a bit too long to get to it.
Loved this story. Bea is an introverted romance writer and cat lover. Sebastian needs some cash and agrees to help her out as a stand in fake fiancé. As expected things are not smooth sailing. Both grow and face their future without the past pulling them in. An adorable sweet romance.
This is a fascinating, page turning story. I really enjoyed reading how Bea has fooled her family into thinking she has a serious boyfriend. Now they want to meet him! Her father wants to see her settled before he gives her the share of the inheritance. Now – – what to do? A fake fiancé! Bea hires Sebastian to play the part. Thankfully he likes cats! Her need for her inheritance is to build a no kill shelter. Her visit to her family to introduce Seb leads to all kinds of adventures. This is a must read!
I received a copy of this book from the author and I voluntarily wrote an honest review.
The Trouble with Tabbies is the second book in the Love & Pets series. It was so cute and funny in some places. It even has a fake fiance turned to real love. I think Travis, the vet, and Sebastian, the fake fiance, are going to be my book boyfriends in the series. The cat antics were funny in the story and the leading female, Beatrix , reminds me of myself. I just don’t have a love for cats like she does. I
If you need a cute happy story then this series is for you. 5 stars and highly recommended for both this book and the Trouble with Pugs
What happens when pretending becomes oh so real? Important things and beloved fuzzies are lost- and love might not survive it.
Fake it until you make it might just be a series of complete disasters.
Love works hard to find a way.
A sweet and sad story , as much about pets dreams and growth as romance.
If you love stories about pets and quirky characters then this is the book for you. I thought I knew cat lovers, but Beatrix wins the prize! This quirky, loveable woman will win your heart when she wants to build a cat adoption facility. Enter Sebastian, a photographer fake fiance, a cold, distant father who puts many stipulations on her inheritance, an ex who wants her back, and many other complex family members. You might chuckle, you might cry, but you’ll never keep up with the number of cats! Underneath all the shenanigans, both per and human, is a very endearing story when Bea finally takes charge of her own happiness and stands up for what she wants and needs in her life. Brava, Ms. Henley has done it again!
Uninspired and uninspiring. Full of cliches and very predictable.
