Things on my wishlist:1. Start a new, awesome job2. Create the perfect dating app3. Stop dating douchebagsThings that actually happen:1. Got a job in my dream tech company 2. Created a workplace dating app for said company3. Was matched with Bennett, who happens to own the company and is also my brother’s best friendThey say when it rains, it pours, but this is some serious BS. It doesn’t help … pours, but this is some serious BS. It doesn’t help that Bennett was the man I had my last one night stand with. It definitely doesn’t help that he seems to want me just as much as I want him. The issue is, he won’t do anything about it, but then we’re forced to attend a tech conference in Vegas and I think it may just be what I need to turn this thing around.
New goal: get my brother’s best friend out of my system by all means necessary.

The Trouble with Love is one of the best feel-good reads of 2019!
I’m not going to lie here! I simply fell head over heels over Morgan Elizabeth’s and Bennetts story! Not only because of what these iconic mean for every hopeless romantic at heart. But for the utterly enchanting and ever so perfectly sweet story that Claire brought to us!!
Pure gold delight in my opinion!
4.5 Stars
The Trouble with Love is the latest from Claire Contreras, a brothers best friend romance with a bit of second chance & office romance thrown in, and I absolutely loved it!
Bennett and Morgan were such a fun couple, with sizzling chemistry and laugh out loud banter. They clicked from the very beginning, and while there were obvious obstacles standing in their way I couldn’t help but root for them from the very beginning. Each character was amazingly written, but together they were a shining star. They seemed to balance each other out, and I loved that they were a support system for one another whether they realized it or not.
While there was a decent amount of drama and quite a few emotional moments, this book was still a fun and easy read. Morgan’s brother was a great addition and a tie that kept pulling them together, and her friends and group texts kept me laughing throughout. My only issue was I felt certain things were left unfinished, comments made by Morgan about her past or Bennett about his job that was obviously mentioned for a reason, but never explored and touched on again. There were definitely a few loose ends, in my opinion, but nothing that took away from the greatness of the story.
I dove into this book blindly and am so happy that I did! Morgan and Bennett were an amazing match. Fate works in mysterious ways . Morgan was such a strong woman. But even strong woman need a love to call their own. And Bennett was the perfect one.
Bennett and Morgan first meet it was instant chemistry but not the right timing. Now a year later Morgan has her dream job at SEVEN and runs into Bennett again. Drawn to each other. Can their timing finally be right? I loved how they were such a perfect fit for each other. Giving one another everything that the other needs like two puzzle pieces fitting together perfectly!
I absolutely love how Claire creates her stories. Slowly, with a lot of hidden passion, and – I can’t unravel my own feelings right now. Guess, I’ll take an emotional break and finish the review when my erratic heart calms a little bit down.

Do you know what I adore about all Claire’s characters? They feel extremely real. I can imagine myself falling in love with Bennett in real life, not just the fictional Bennett. Funny. Kind. Devoted. Smart. Hot. I mean, I would marry him right away if he proposed. *sighs* Dreams can come true.

The book got me hooked right from the first page. It was sweet, funny, sexy, at some points cheesy (but in a good way!), and with a lot of good banter between the main leads. I really liked Morgan as a heroine – strong with moments of weakness. As the story progressed, I got a little frustrated, especially towards the end where things felt a little rushed and less gripping compared to the kick-ass beginning. But overall, The Trouble with Love does deserve readers’ love and I do recommend it. It has everything I find in a good romance: an interesting plot, steamy scenes, a hero I’d kidnap if he weren’t fictional, and so much more.
FINAL RATING: 4.5 owl stars
Sweet and sexy is how I’d describe this! Loved the storyline so much but the ex wife was super annoying lol not sure what her motives were. It added a bit of suspense to the story though! Overall I recommend for an awesome weekend read!
Claire Contreras’ newest release, The Trouble with Love, was exactly the light and charming read that I needed after a bevy of dark and angsty reads! And while there is a bit of drama, it wasn’t grandiose or over-the-top, and it fit the story line and baggage that the hero and heroine needed to deal with in order to move forward with a better perception about love and relationships.
One aspect of Contreras’ storytelling that I adore is how much the main characters’ attraction to each other and the chemistry between them resonates from the pages their book. And it’s clear from Morgan Tucker and Bennett Cruz’s first interaction that their connection is electric and it’s not something that will go away easily, especially when what was supposed to be a one-night stand a year ago has the opportunity for more due to Morgan’s new job. But, it’s also what complicates things even more because when ‘Elizabeth’ and ‘Ben’ re-enter each other’s life, they meet and use their full names, realizing exactly who the other one is – Bennett being Morgan’s older brother’s best friend.
I appreciated the fact that while a real relationship between Morgan and Bennett may be a bit forbidden because of Morgan’s position in Bennett’s company and the fact that Morgan is Devon’s younger sister, the concerns and issues that prevent Morgan and Bennett from jumping into bed together again is not really due to those outside details but more so to their respective views on love and relationships and whether or not they’re willing to risk their hearts again when their track records are quite problematic.
Bennett and Morgan are great characters and I loved getting Bennett’s perspective throughout the course of the story line because it offers necessary insights that are needed to understand exactly why Bennett views love the way he does and how slowly but surely his attraction to and feelings for Morgan change everything for him and allow him to follow his heart, even if it’s a bit broken.
The Trouble with Love is a great read – one with snarky banter, steamy sex, and familial bonds that help the main characters find their way. I also really enjoyed Morgan’s views on online dating and her desire to create an app that allows people to find a match for love, not just lust or a hookup. And the fact that Morgan’s dating app allowed her to play Cupid for others and well as send the best form of Trouble her way allowed her to, hopefully, find her own perfect match!
4.5 Poison Apples
Bennett and Morgan- love their story!! I love their connection and the supporting characters around them.
Morgan has had a difficult childhood but she’s got a great brother in Devon! Her and Bennett and a one night stand then a year later they realize he is her brother’s best friend.
This story is about caring and loving and fighting for ones you love. And believing in yourself and those around you! A great book by Claire Contreras!!
I love Claire books. Wonderful characters and great storytelling. Heartwarming story that you won’t want to put down. One click this book.
The Trouble with Love by Claire Contreras is the story of Bennett and Morgan and can be read as a stand-alone.
They had a one-night stand when Bennett was going through a difficult divorce and one year later she ends up working for his company. She is also Bennett’s best friend’s sister.
Morgan has had her struggles, due to a difficult childhood, but she is smart, beautiful and a power house. Bennett and her chemistry is off the charts and he is caring and kind. He is also dealing with a crazy ex.
This is a sweet, story with not a lot of angst and a HEA. Some of their issues did resolve quickly, but it was still a great story to read.
I look forward to Ms. Contreras’ next release.
I have loved every Claire Contreras book I’ve read and The Trouble With Love was no different. Bennett and Morgan’s story was one of true love that was meant to be. Their one night together when he was suffering from the betrayal of his wife sealed the deal. I loved the plot of this book that brought them back together, I loved the angst as they tried to fight the feelings at work, I loved the whole brother’s best friend subplot and the angst with the crazy ex-wife. I loved the whole app matchup, reminded me of “You’ve Got Mail”. I really enjoyed this book.
Bennett and Morgan are #relationshipgoals.
Seriously, the chemistry that Ms. Contreras has concocted between these two is insane. Morgan is a super smart woman who is starting out on her own with a new job and a new dating app design she’s working on. Lo and behold, her new boss happens to be her brother’s best friend, Bennett. Sparks fly, but she doesn’t have time for anyone, let alone someone who carries the possibility of hurting her heart. This book had so many feels, and I gobbled them all up. Ms. Contreras’ writing flows like butter, the characters are unforgettable, and the plot is swoonworthy. Absolutely loved it from beginning to end.
I absolutely adore Claire and her stories!!! There is not a single character I haven’t liked or enjoyed reading about. Morgan & Bennet are no different. Morgan is spunky, feisty, and determined!! Bennet is sexy, funny, and a real charmer!! They have an undeniable chemistry that they try to deny. I enjoyed their flirty banter, the light hearted angst, and the sweet story Claire created!!!
I did not want this book to end! Claire Contreras has a way of writing stories that pulls you in body and soul. Her writing will you literally sitting there with characters almost like watching them on a movie screen; it projects you in their life. Morgan Tucker and Bennett Cruz’s one night stand is no longer a passion filled memory. Morgan is now working at SEVEN, a tech company owned by Bennett and his father. From day one, the sexual attraction is still there but Bennett tries to deny it because of their working relationship and he’s Morgan’s brother best friend. The truths from their past are revealed and they will have to figure out if they can weather the storm. The pages of this book will pull at your heart strings and swooning at the same time! Absolutely amazing book
Heartwarming
“Love can be brutal and leave you aching, but it’s also impossible to live without love, to grow without it.”
Aw! I loved this story. My heart feels like it’s going to burst. Morgan and Bennett are amazing together. Both such great characters. The writing is fantastic. You could relate to Morgan and Bennett and you could feel what they were each going through.
I loved Morgan and Bennett’s connection. It’s intense and you could feel their pull to each other. Their interactions were fun, sweet, and constantly made me smile.
“The more time I spend with her, the clearer it becomes that rather than stopping myself from falling, what I’m doing is bracing myself for impact.”
The Trouble with Love is a light-hearted, heartwarming, and sweet story and will leave your heart full and a smile on your face.
The Trouble With Love starts off with a bang and peeked my interest immediately!! Ms. Contreras truly outdid herself with this book. I adored this lighthearted brother’s best friend troupe, Bennett and Morgan are such a fun and entertaining couple. These two put a huge smile on my face, their story is sweet, sexy and gave me all the romantic feels. And let me tell you, I thoroughly enjoyed their HOT HOT HOT sexy times!!
The storyline is fresh, original and very interesting. The Trouble With Love is a feel good romantic comedy and a definite must read!!
It’s a classic one night stand that turns into forever. They meet in a bar, she’s been stood up, he’s been betrayed, they share a magical night and that’s how it ends….
Except when it doesn’t. Bennett Cruz never expects to see the elusive Elizabeth again. Then she shows up as his new employee. Not only is she going to be working with him, she is his best friends little sister. This story has all the feels. Morgan (Elizabeth) is a strong survivor. She didn’t have the easiest of childhoods but she is making a life for herself and doing quite well. Never in her imagination would she think of falling in love, much less with a co-worker who is also her brothers best friend. Even when the matchmaking app she is developing pairs them up, she isn’t sure she has it in her to make a forever.
This is a great addition to Claire’s library. She always takes time to develop characters who have character and that we can relate to.
4.5 stars!!
An office romance with the added brother’s best friend forbidden element plus an age gap?!…YESSSS! I absolutely devoured this book!! Claire Contreras hooked me in from the very first page.
The Trouble with Love is definitely lighter than some of this author’s other books. However, I enjoyed that it still dealt with some serious issues like infidelity, addiction and family dynamics. What it lacked (and I say lacked with no negative connotation behind it) in emotion it more than made up for it in banter, sexual tension and character chemistry. My goodness! The connection between Bennett and Morgan was insane. From the beginning, their back and forth was addictive and fun. I genuinely really liked these characters. Morgan is smart and independent and I just loved her determination. And Bennett…sigh. There’s a part of me says I shouldn’t fall for him because of his questionable actions but I couldn’t help it. He’s pretty freakin’ dreamy.
This book is light-hearted, sexy and fun. I loved it and I highly recommend it!!
This book hooked me immediately. Bennett and Morgan have great chemistry. There was a lot of sexual tension. There was some drama that played out, but overall this was a light read. I found this book to be extremely satisfying.
I enjoyed this brother’s best friend romance. Bennett and Morgan have been hurt by someone they loved and trusted, try to navigate through the process of healing together. Throw in a forbidden element and a dating app twist that will keep you hooked until the end.
