Ever since my marriage ended, I’ve kept relationships at arm’s length. But after meeting stuntman Steven French and staring into his hypnotic eyes, I know I could easily jump into his arms. So I did. Naked. On the beach. Best decision Ever. Now, despite all odds, we’re creating our own version of Eden. But just like any garden….this one has a snake.
Bliss Novak is a well-established Real Estate professional and Steven French has become a well-respected Stuntman. They experience an exhilarating chemistry when they meet and instantly know that this is something special, causing their relationship to take flight.
Bliss is beautiful, both inside and out and Steven can see that. He is both sensitive and manly and Bliss is attracted to his strength. Their connection is explosive and they both know exactly what they want. They are confident and use that confidence to make their relationship work.
But like every love story, not everything is perfect and although Bliss and Steven care deeply about each other, a snake in the form of Caprice is out to disturb their paradise. Will they believe in the strength of their feelings or will Caprice succeed in coming between them?
I love Bliss and Steven and the fact that they’re older, in their 30-40s. There isn’t much drama between them because they know how to handle it. There is plenty of sexiness, yet the sweet moments are also present.
I also like the secondary characters. Nicki, Jack, Albie, and Finn are funny as all get out and bring a level of hilarity and lightness to the story. Each character adds their touch to make it more interesting and when you add Steven’s dad and his wife, Melanie, to the mix, then you’re in for a hella good time 😉 All these characters and their interactions add so much richness to an already wonderful plot.
In her debut novel, Leslie Pike has given us characters that are full of depth. The plot is interesting and the book so well written. I can’t wait to see what more she has in store for us.
I enjoyed reading this book. The characters were interesting, funny, and overall relatable. Fell in love with Bliss and Steven. Bliss and Steven are a fun couple that face difficulties and issues that I could understand. Leslie Pike did a great job with this debut novel. I’m late to the game reading it, but this book still pulled me in. Love the books she’s written since, so make sure and check out her other books
The Trouble With Eden is the debut novel for screen writer turned novelist, Leslie Pike. She uses her unique experience to tell us the story of real-estate mogul turned aspiring screen writer, Bliss, and super sexy stuntman, Steve.
Bliss and Steve are both fun characters and it’s entertaining to see how their case of insta-lust turns into a real relationship. The secondary cast plays a big role and everyone is very well written.
Ms. Pike did an excellent job of adding drama and conflict to the story and allowing it to seem organic to the lives of her characters. We see them deal with conniving co-stars, ex husbands, and potential tragedy and some of their solutions are downright amusing.
I really enjoyed The Trouble With Eden and look forward to seeing what Ms. Pike has in store for us next.
This was a fun, entertaining story! The characters were well developed and well-written. Steven and Bliss’s road to romance was a lot different than most book couples, as well as the challenge they faced towards the end wasn’t one I had ever seen in a book before. I also liked the detail and knowledge in regards to Steven’s profession – very descriptive, which allowed you to picture what was going on. I also really enjoyed the primary secondary characters (Jack, Nikki, and Finn) and look forward to reading more about them!
What a perfect love story! From the minute Bliss and Steven meet at the gym, there relationship just progresses along. They make it seem so easy. But no love goes untested. First the appearance of cheating and then an injury. Their love is tested and there strong love will see them through. Lots of steamy scenes and lots of great characters besides the love birds! Definitely a story you want to read!
Leslie Pike’s debut novel, The Trouble With Eden, is a sexy and entertaining read. The story is told from the view points of both main characters, Bliss and Steven, which helped heighten the emotional experience and journey.
I loved Bliss right away. She is such a strong heroine, but also has a softer vulnerable side. She’s smart, independent, knows what she wants, and is unwilling to settle. Yes, her stubbornness causes some problems, but it’s understandable given the circumstances. My favorite part about Bliss is her passion. Passion for her life, her work, and her love. Her road was not an easy one, but she’s fought hard to become the woman that she is and is proud of it. I’m not usually a fan of instalust and I will admit that this pushed my limits, but I thought what developed as a result was so genuine and true that it didn’t matter in the end. Bliss and Steven may not have had a conventional love story, but I think it was incredibly relatable.
This book also features some of the funniest and most colorful secondary characters I have ever read. A few you will love to hate and others will have you laughing out loud. There’s a good dose of drama and angst, but it fits with the story and only strengthens the relationship between Bliss and Steven. I did get a little lost with all the information about Steven’s stunt work and the entertainment industry, but the details painted a really vivid picture of what was going on with our characters. Overall, The Trouble With Eden is a wonderful love story and I look forward to reading more of Leslie’s books.
Adored this stunning debut novel. Leslie Pike knocked it out of the ball park. Funny, angsty, drama, humor, it runs the gamut, shows a depth of writing talent I was engaged from the beginning, wanting more. Characters are developed, storyline never lags. Secondary characters beg for their own booklives! You want this book. Recommended.
I really enjoyed this book. While reading I thought, “wow, this author really did her research on stuntmen and screenwriting.” But then I read more about the author and she has real life knowledge. I loved the chemistry between Steven and Bliss. I did want to hit Steven upside the head for a few minutes at one point in the book. Overall, I really liked this book and I’m looking forward to more from this author.
I really enjoyed this book!!! Even from the first chapter when Steven got out of the pool. I was like OKKKKK….yeah I’m gonna love this book!!! I loved the characters and connected with them right away. I really liked how Bliss and Steven hit it off right away, and how she trusted him enough to do what they did within the first 4 hours of meeting.
Then the twist happened, and even throughout the whole book, I wanted to throat punch Caprice!! UGH!! She made me so angry!!!!
I really loved how Leslie was able to have this storyline going but then having another one happening in the background with Nicki and Jack!!! I want their story please?!
Once Bliss gains Steven’s trust back, it’s on like donkey kong! I tell you what, the sexy scenes in this book was amazing!!! It was descriptive enough but not going over the top with it. LOVED IT!!!
Love love love this book! Action, stubborn characters, hot scenes, beautiful scenery and of course, that one character you want to slap silly. This book has it all. Can’t wait to read the next one!
I had the pleasure of being a Beta reader for this 1st time author and let me tell you, I loved the story! It’s different from most of the books out there because the characters are older and more mature. I loved the camaraderie between Bliss and Steven and Jack and the whole crew! I honestly cannot wait to read her next book and see what she has in store for us!!!
What a fabulously romantic book from this debut author. I want to be seduced by Steven! This book has a great story with a bit of angst, great characters and sexy time. Pick up this book today.
