All Suzanne St. Michelle wants is an over-the-top, eggnog-induced holiday with her best friend in Credence, Colorado. But when her hoity-toity parents insist she come home for Christmas in New York, she blurts out that her sexy landlord is actually her boyfriend and she can’t leave him—Joshy loves Christmas. The more twinkle lights the better.Rancher Joshua Grady does not love Christmas. Or … love Christmas. Or company, or chatty women. Unfortunately for him, the chattiest woman ever has rented the cottage on his ranch, invited her rich, art-scene parents, and now insists he play “fake rancher boyfriend” in a production of the Hokiest Christmas Ever. And somehow…she gets him to agree.
Apparently, he’ll do anything to get his quiet life back. At least there’s mistletoe every two feet—and kissing Suzy is surprisingly easy. But in the midst of acres of tinsel, far too many tacky Christmas sweaters, and a tree that can be seen from space, he’s starting to want what he lost when he was a kid—a family. Too bad it’s with a woman heading back to New York before the ball drops…

This book was not for me. That being said I had the hardest time getting into this book it just seemed to be lacking something, I really can’t put my finger on it for the first 6-8 chapters. After that the book does slowly pick up and the story line is cute, but too me it just seemed like something was still missing the characters and situations seemed forced. There was so many curse words in this book you would have thought one of the main characters would have had to be a sailor or something. There is also a lot of adult language and sex so this book may not be suitable for all. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion
I loved this book! Joshua Grady has shut down his emotions after the deaths of his parents and first girlfriend when he seventeen. He is now 34, has served three tour in the army, and is running his uncle’s ranch In Credence Colorado. He likes his solitude, so he is not thrilled when his Uncle rented out the cabin on his property to Suzanne St Michelle. Suzanne is an artist from New York who wants to find her muse and also celebrate a real Christmas for once in her life. Suzanne is very emotional and has verbal diarrhea , the opposite of the stoic Grady, who barely speaks for days on end. Of course, Suzanne lies to her mother that Grady is her boyfriend and her parents decide to visit and they have to do the whole fake relationship thing. This is a delightful story. I loved both of these characters, and rooted for them to finally get together. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.
I listened to the audio version and enjoyed it very much. Great story by Amy Andrews and a wonderful job of narrating by Laura Jennings.
I was given this novel to read from Bookish First in return for an honest and truthful review. I really loved this feel good Christmas romance, just my type of a great read. Give me a good old fashioned love story or rom-com any day. The book started off quite slow moving but then picked up, too much going on at once, but in the end I fell in love with Grady, a grumpy surly rancher, and Suzanne, a New York artist who came to Colorado to get inspiration. They had steamy vibes as soon as they met. I was sad when it was over. A terrific sexy romance. It is a perfect mix of tension and hot steamy scenes. A perfect Hallmark After Dark movie. A real fun read and a real I love Christmas story.

I liked some of the other books in this series better. Suzanne came across as needy and selfish. I wondered why Joshua would even be drawn to her. I understood her issues with her parents but she ran roughshod over his life and he kept agreeing to help her out no matter how big of hole she dug. Overall it was just ok, not horrible but not great either.
A happy book that makes y ou laught out loud
The story of Suzanne and Grady and their romance is a chuckle from beginning to end.
The Trouble With Christmas is the third book in author Amy Andrews Credence, Colorado series. Suzanne St. Michelle has rented the cottage on Burl Grady’s Credence, Colorado, ranch which is run by his less than friendly nephew Joshua. What Suzanne is seeking is an over the top Christmas celebration with her best friend, Winona, who is in the process of building a lakefront home outside of Credence. What Suzanne actually gets is much, much more.
When Suzanne tells her high brow parents she won’t be home for Christmas her mother surprises her by saying they will come to her. With her mother’s minimalist view of Christmas, Suzanne concocts a wild tale of her Cowboy boyfriend, Joshua, and his over the top view of Christmas trying to dissuade her mother from coming, only to learn her parents’ marriage is in trouble. Now she must come up with ways to convince that loner Cowboy to go along with her and help her to save her parents’ relationship.
Now the story takes off! With passages that are laugh out loud funny to times when the poignancy of the story may bring a tear, this story definitely delivers a Christmas story to remember. With bigger than life characters and a beautiful snow covered setting, I found I couldn’t read fast enough and yet was so sorry to see the story end. I did enjoy this book and I do recommend it!!
Once I started this book I couldn’t put it down! Such a great story of how not thinking things through can turn into unforeseeable situations. It’s definitely a “don’t miss” book.
Vulgar with the F bomb used copiously
Suzanne St. Michelle has lost her inspiration to create her art. Her friend talks her into coming to a cabin in the west to see if that helps inspire her. She meets no nonsense, former military man turned rancher Grady. This story will keep you entertained from cover to cover!
Entertaining read. This is Josh and Suzy finding their way to each other via good intentions, lies and some Christmas spirit. This was no easy trip. Grab this Christmas read. It will light up your TBR list.
**I received a copy of The Trouble with Christmas from Entangled Publishing and Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review. My opinions are my own and not solicited in any way.**
The Trouble with Christmas by Amy Andrews is the second book in her Credence, Colorado series. This is Joshua Grady and Suzanne St. Michelle’s story. Although Grady was a grumpy set in his way rancher who hates Christmas due to the sad lose of his parents and girlfriend. So to have Suzanne come in like a whirlwind, driving her van “Ethel” and rent his cabin next door makes him want to hide. When she tells her parents they are madly in love and that he decorates for Christmas like the Griswold’s will make him want to run for the hills very quickly. What ensues is hilarious and his required payment for acting like he loves her and Christmas will be each of her rather unique portraits of him that have his face but different famous bodies. The one thought I have on this book about the amount of Christmas lights on the house giving the cows the homing beacon to find the barn was the deal breaker for me loving this book.
Besides the story of how the rancher fell in love with the artist I still love the people of Credence with all their different personalities and can’t wait to read their stories especially Arlo’s. I’m giving the book 4.5 stars and can’t wait to read the next book.
I laughed out loud all the way through this book. It was hysterically funny from the first page. It was also steamy, sexy, and the sexual tension was off the charts. This series was great. I want more of them! Amy Andrews is one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait for more in this series.
Hilarious love story about a grumpy, brooding, hot as hell rancher, Joshua Grady and an eccentric artist from New York. They couldn’t be more different, but chemistry between them is undeniable. Loved the “rocket” Christmas cookies! I laughed so hard throughout this book I had to put it down at times to wipe away the tears!
“The Trouble with Christmas” by Amy Andrews was a charming, funny, and sweet holiday-themed romance, and I enjoyed it even more than I did the previous book in this series, “Nothing but Trouble.” I lost count of the number of times I laughed out loud while I was reading, but I think my favorite parts were the descriptions of the over-the-top holiday decorations (especially the festive Christmas toilet seat) and the image of main character Grady’s face painted onto the body of a cherub in a reproduction Botticelli painting. I also loved when Grady and the female lead character, Suzanne, created their own Christmas movie drinking game. They were spot on in their observations about some of the common tropes of those movies! (Sidenote: If I had played a drinking game of my own and taken a shot every time the word “schmaltz” was used in this book, I would have been hammered by the time I was halfway finished reading…)
Grady and Suzanne were both very likeable main characters, and even though their relationship developed over a relatively short period of time, their feelings for each other seemed completely real and believable to me. That said, I have to admit that I found myself slightly annoyed with Grady on a few occasions because of his ongoing refusal to talk to Suzanne about his past. I was also somewhat confused about the exact circumstances of the accident in which Grady’s parents and girlfriend died. Why were they together at the time?
In addition to the book’s main characters, the secondary characters were a lot of fun. It was very amusing how the small town gossip cycle was on full display here, and Grady and Suzanne’s relationship kept getting blown out of proportion by the town busybodies. Also, it was great to catch up with Tucker, Arlo, and Drew from the previous book in this series. I hope there are plans for each of them to get stories of their own!
At any rate, I look forward to picking up the next book in this series.

I loved this book. Another great amazing, funny love story from Amy Adams. Grady loves his ranch and his solitude but when his uncle rents cabin near him his live turns upside down. Suzanne is everything Grady is not and she blackmails him into playing her fake Christmas lover boyfriend. The one that is not fake between them is a mutual attraction which is harder and harder to resist. Will Grady brake the walls he built is to find out. I really loved the story the characters and all the happenings. Can’t wait to see another of the men to bit the dust.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley
I have to tell you how much I enjoyed this story! It is a little more descriptive then I like but other than that is was one of the best Christmas romance novels I have read in a long time! I hope there will be a follow up novel to let us know how Winona and Arlo Pike. Thank you Amy Andrews for writing this wonderful novel and I look forward to reading more of your work.
Such a delightful holiday romance. This book made me smile, laugh, and filled my heart with the perfect dose of Chrismassy spirit.
The Trouble with Christmas by Amy Andrews is hilarious, romantic, sexy, and heartwarming. Suzanne and Grady’s chemistry is absolutely perfect and I loved all their sweet moments together. I liked the author’s writing style and I think the pacing is good. I enjoyed the beautiful sceneries that made me want to hop on a plane and go to Credence Colorado. I loved Suzanne and Grady’s relationship and I also think the side characters are charming, quirky, and interesting. There’s definitely plenty of fun surprises and wonderful moments that will warm your heart and I just think this book is such a lovely holidy treat.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It’s a fun, sweet, and quick romance read. I liked the playful bantering between Suzanne and Grady, the humor, the sexy moments, the drama, and everything else in between. Highly recommend you pick this book up this holiday season.
This was so adorably sweet and entertaining with just the right amount of sexy and emotion mixed in. Awesome read!
