Not what I was thinking it’d be. That said, I’m glad I read it. Has a different element to it, but a good one. Not your basic witch story. This one has connections, new “powers”, and different villains/hero’s. I like that it’s different and creative and can’t wait to read the other 2. Glad I gave her a chance.
If you’re looking for YA fantasy with a strong female lead, this is for you! I am excited to continue reading this series, and was really happy to get my hands on this story on audio. The narrator does a fantastic job of bringing the story to life without being overly dramatic.
As a first time reader of this author I must say that it was a great start to a YA paranormal series that I can not wait to get more of. Hope and her sisters are the only triplets know to be born in their hometown which makes them stand out as it is but on their 16th birthday they become part of a prophecy that has been around for centuries. Once I began reading I didn’t want to put my kindle down, I was hooked. Yes this is a young adult read but I felt as though there’s so much more to the story then the age of the characters and that’s what kept me intrigued. The pace and details set throughout was perfect and the entire story flowed wonderfully. What a twist towards the end lemme tell you, I DID NOT see that coming and that’s exactly what you want when you’re reading a story to have the unexpected happen. You want to be kept on your toes, at least that’s how I feel when I’m reading a book. I will undoubtedly be waiting for Destiny’s story next. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
Hope’s Story is the fist in what will be a series about triplets! The first story belongs to Hope, she’s a young girl just coming into her paranormal abilities. In this YA series, you will witness a sort of coming of age tale. It’s hard enough when you have to deal with life being a teenager coming in to pre-adulthood , can you imagine adding magical abilities to the mix? Marcia is an excellent author who is also a fantastic story teller! The words jump off the page and it is very difficult to put this book down. It causes me to be emotionally invested to her characters and excited for future ones and the stories of the other two triplets! I recommend you pick up this book today and give it a read. Because of my attachment to this book and the characters I give it 5 stars!
The book starts off with the everyday life of a teenage girl named Hope. She and her sisters are triplets and care deeply for each other even though they get on each other nerves sometimes. On their 16th birthday, things change about Hope when she discovers she has powers and also that there is a curse. If that’s not enough, a demon had possessed her sister. What is going to happen to the triplets? Will Hope be able to free her sister and save the world before another death occurs?
I loved the simple way the author described the things from the mind of a teenage girl. She was able to mimic their language too. The story was fascinating and I liked the part with the soulmates. The only thing I didn’t like was that the romance went a bit too fast in my opinion. All in all, it was a great book and I can’t wait for the next one.
If you’re after a clean YA book with witty dialogues and funny situations, then grab this awesome read now. Don’t forget to leave a review.

I enjoyed the premise of this story so much! I think this is a great book for young readers, it is relavent, relatable and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I was not expecting the ending and I loved that! I can’t wait to read about Faith and Destiny!
I really enjoyed the first book in The Triplet’s Curse series. For a debut novel this was a really good book. The characters were really great and interesting. The storyline flowed and made you want to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed Hope’s story and I cannot wait to read the other other two Triplet’s stories.
This has a great story it has you not wanting to stop reading it.. Triplets age 16 strange things.. You wont be able to put it down
I just started reading this book yesterday & could not put it down…I’m saddened it’s over because I want more so much more!!! I’m waiting on the edge of my seat for the next one!!!!
The Prophecy
When the moon is full
High above the Earth
Three daughters shall be born
On their 16th birthday, their destiny
will begin
One daughter, born with knowledge
of the future, yet blind of those
closest to her
One daughter born to endure pain
And heartache before being reborn
One daughter born to determine
the fate of the world
In order to survive, three must work
As one, or all is lost
This is the Triplet’s Curse
A Prologue begins with the birth of the triplets: Hope, Destiny, and Faith then chapter one jumps ahead to 15 years and 29 days later (2 days before their 16th birthday). The Prophecy is an eloquent and graceful way to lay the ground work for the story to enfold.
The pace was fluid, the author’s attention to detail within the story was Amazing and Genuine for contemporary teen life at an American urban high school.
The characters were well-developed; especially the relationships between the triplets’ which were at the core of the story – caring, realistic and fully-fleshed out. The supernatural elements were expertly interwoven into the daily routine and added an unexpected element of surprise and suspense. This novel was a true page-turner!
Dearest Reader, I Never reveal ANY spoilers in my reviews as I wish for you to discover the joys of each Terrific Tale for yourself. I kindly recommend you purchase this book for your home library.
In closing this review, I want to highlight a poem written by Annamarie Gardner and featured in this novel. She is one of my team members on the Face Book page SLH Reviews and is a very unique Poet!
Poetry by Annamarie Gardner:
Joint Poem:
A moment frozen in time
A gentle kiss stolen without rhyme
A soft embrace a gentle caress
A memory gone without a trace
A careless glance and a stolen romance
A memory gone and a memory won
A dream, a curse, a wish fulfilled
Hope and Bryce frozen in place held by
loves frozen embrace
Loved this supernatural story. I think the future seers are so cool, and Hope is a really strong one. I didn’t feel like there was much romance but I liked the thought that the three boys were to help the triplets. Not sure how they were supposed to train them since only the triplets had the power. But it was still a good audiobook. There were two twists that really blew my mind and I never saw coming. I am definitely interested to find out what else will happen. I enjoyed the narrator and hope to hear her on the next audiobooks of this series.

This is a great coming to age paranormal tale. I felt Mrs. Black did a wonderful job building the world Hope, her sisters and Bryce live in and the prophecy that surrounds them. Their story flows nicely and moves at a good pace.
I really liked Hope’s character. She’s tenacious, strong and caring. Suddenly thrust into a world she knows nothing about Hope handles her new situation with a maturity beyond her years. I’m interested in finding out where the sisters journey will lead them in the next book.
Marsha is a new author to me…I listened to the audiobook.
Story:
For the first book of a series, I really enjoyed the premise of the story. I liked learning a little bit more about the Curse. I liked how Hope wasn’t alone in this matter and that she had someone else to lean on. I was also very surprised to see that Bryce (not sure of spelling) has his own POV. Also I did feel like his story sometimes was repetitive I liked being able to hear his thoughts and feelings. Looking forward to reading book 2.
Audio:
I may be one of the rare ones but I felt like the narrator was okay. It was hard to distinguish when she was going from 1st to third person and when she used a male voice it sounded the same with the exception of sounding just a tad deeper voice. I also felt like the narrator sounded a bit too old for a 15/16 yr old teen. Just my thoughts. I was able to listen to the story at a faster pace which I did enjoy. 3.0 stars for narration.
Kathleen Li did a great job with the narration on this story. I knew who was who without them having to name themselves.
The idea behind this book intrigued me and I enjoyed the story. It was interesting watching the relationships as they built. I would be interested to see how the story progresses.
This is a fantastic read. I love the world building and the Character building. This is the first book in the series. It captured me from the first page to the last. I was given this read. And definitely recommend this read. The Author is very creative and brings the Characters Alive on the pages. The Narrator does a fantastic job.

Wow! Poor hope has so many things happening at the same time as well as having to learn how to defend herself as never before. I loved this book and really can’t wait for Destiny and Faith’s story.
Narration was absolutely fantastic!!
OH my goodness, where do I begin? This book was awesome! This book had a great flow to it, and the characters were well developed. Hope is the main character and it was really neat to see her come into her own, into her powers. Bryce, the new kid at school seems to immediately have a connection to Hope. I loved the story line. This book was a definite page turner and I am excited to dive into the next book in this series.
*I was given a copy of this book by the author. The statements here are my own honest opinion and no review was required.* I loved the book so much that I went ahead and purchased it.
Hope is the first of 3 sisters to start showing her abilities, though at first they are mistaken for a medical condition. I did think that she took everything a little too in stride. She didn’t question things as someone in her position probably should have. She just accepted the word of strangers. The story-line is a good one. I am curious about Faith’s story and Destiny’s story, and I hope that there’s a bit more struggle with the hardships coming their way. I don’t mean I want her to whine about things, but she should probably question things before blindly accepting them as truth. As for Destiny, she was replaced under everyone’s noses by a changeling and her personality definitely changed. It did not go unnoticed. Hope and Faith definitely started to question what was up with their sister until finally Hope had enough of the weirdness and decided to follow her. That’s when she made the discovery that what had been posing as her sister, wasn’t really her sister. But while it’s implied, you don’t actually get told that until the hospital scene. Hope’s new boyfriend, Bryce, also suddenly start developing Hope’s powers and can share Hope’s visions.
