How do you punish an immortal? By making him human. After angering his father Zeus, the god Apollo is cast down from Olympus. Weak and disoriented, he lands in New York City as a regular teenage boy. Now, without his godly powers, the four-thousand-year-old deity must learn to survive in the modern world until he can somehow find a way to regain Zeus’s favor. But Apollo has many enemies—gods, … monsters, and mortals who would love to see the former Olympian permanently destroyed. Apollo needs help, and he can think of only one place to go . . . an enclave of modern demigods known as Camp Half-Blood.

The first books in all of Riordan’s series aren’t the best of the series, but they’re still great. I read Trials or Apollo in a day!
Apollo is a rather unlikable protagonist, at least at first. Though he still has plenty of room to grow.
It was nice to be back in camp half blood. My favorite part was the fellow campers in Apollo cabin, you know his KIDS! Talk about awkward!
I suppose I should mention that there are some Nico and Will moments too hehe. They got the best lines!
We don’t see many of the old gang but there are still four books to come!
Rick Riordan always has wonderful characters. They are endearing , heroic, even noble sometimes and that involves the reader on an emotional level. The reader cares about how the predicament is going to turn out. His books have a sense of humor and are not dry deadpan or trite and sappy. As soon as you finish this, you’re ready for the next book.
First installment in the series, and it was good enough to make me read book two and am eagerly awaiting book three. It is very similar to other Rick Riordan books. If you have read Heroes of Olympus, this is a sequel to the end of that series. It is very easy to read, while still being an enjoyable read for more advanced readers.
Apollo is punished by Zeus for the wars with the Titans and Giants – he gets kicked out of Olympus and lands in a dumpster… as a mortal.
The mixture of ancient being and self-absorbed teenager makes Apollo/Lester an interesting character. He grows, admits his ancient faults and even makes peace with those he had wronged in the past. It’s a great character-driven story in that aspect.
Adventure, danger, prophecy and an unwilling hero makes this a great story. And, of course, returning to Percy Jackson’s world and catching up (briefly) with Percy is also fun.
My favourite part is the lead-up to finding the Oracle of this book and all the action, surprises and Apollo’s emotional growth adding to the depth of the story.
A must-read for fans of Rick Riordan and those who love myths and folklore.
Rick Riordan never disappoints. I started reading his books when I was about 12 years old and I am still reading them at 25. I have read The Kane Chronicles, Percy Jackskon, and Heros of Olympus and I loved them all so when I picked up this first book in The Trials of Apollo I new I would love it. I cannot wait to finish this series and then read Magnus Chase! Thank you Rick Riordan for your remarkabke writing. I am truly captivated everytime I pick up one of your books.
I LOVED this book! I love ALL of Rick Riordan’s books! The plot, the story, the wording is all amazing! This book makes you feel like you know all of the characters in person and the their traits are SO unique. I never completely liked books, but this book makes me wanna scream! Rick Riordan makes the books SO good, that I might be reading the book for a whole class period and never notice! I owe Rick Riordan a HUGE thanks! And also including the series Heroes of Olympus, and Trials of Apollo!

And here we have another amazing Rick Riordan success! HE IS THE BEST AUTHOR!!!
This book like all of rick riordans books was fantastic and once I started I did not but the book down until I was done and when i was done i could not wait for the next book!!
I this author it’s never a dull moment when you pick up one of his books. I loved it can’t wait for the next one.
Great young adult book. Highly recommended the series to my students!
I love Rick Riordan and eat up just about anything he writes. This was no exception. It was quite interesting and witty to be in Apollo’s shoes throughout this book. Good, fun read!!
This is a book for teens adults will enjoy it to if you have read any rick’s outher books this fit right in with them. A good book for any to read.
I thought this book was really good – but I hate reading series that aren’t completely out. By the time the next one comes out I have to reread the entire series over.
I didn’t want to like this so much, but, like the Percy Jackson series, it is well written and I wanted to find out what came next, and how each of the characters fared.
This book so far has been the weakest of Uncle Rick’s book that I have read. It wasn’t bad but it certainly wasn’t great. I think part of the failing was Apollo’s tone. He’s so arrogant and yet he has to battle with his new human feelings and memories. I will read the next book when it comes out but I’m in no rush. However, we do get to see a lot of familiar places and people and for that I was happy. Also there was a bit of a plot twist that I thought COULD happen but when it did, I wasn’t expecting it to be as devious as it was!
The Greek god Apollo is banished from Olympias by Zeus for reasons unknown to us (the reader) and finds himself in New York City. Soon after his arrival Apollo is jumped by street thugs and saved my the demi god street orphan named Meg. Soon Apollo meets up with eh one and only Percy Jackson who helps Apollo and Meg get to camp half blood. Once at Camp Half Blood, Apollo learns from his friend Chrion that some of the campers have gone missing and that no one is able to see the future to predict prophecies, which inhibit the campers from going on quest. Apollo reluctantly agrees to help the campers along with Meg only to help restore his godly status and get him back to Olympias. This is a great into to the Trials of Apollo
Best book ever. I would kill myself for rick Riordan to make more Greek mythology books
this is the first book in the third series of the saga written by Rick Riordan, which started with Percy Jackson. In this book, Apollo, a greek god, is sended (well, punished) by Zeus, his father, to the Earth to do a serie of work to come back to Olympus just because he telled to Leo Valdez and Jason Grace visit their son Asclepius, the god of medicine, to give him a potion that brings a death back to life. Now he have to work to/with Meg, a daughter of Deméter to come back to the Glory.
it isnt my favorite book in this series, but it is still good and it introduces all the characters and the (many) problems
this book is amazing rick riordan made it so much fun to read, and I would recommend it to anybody.
