This is intriguing, dramatic, sweet and romantic. Holly was adopted, and she decided to go to Scotland to try to find out something about her past, but ended up going 1100 years in the past. When she just appeared out of nowhere, Viking outlaw Thorir thought she was a witch, and he wanted to sacrifice her to Odin. Einar saved her and brought her back to his village. Einar is a man on a mission, to get rid of the outlaws and become Jarl. But the King added the stipulation that he marry soon. After rescuing her, Einar he gets pushed into marrying her. They both fought an attraction to the other, her because she was determined to go home, and him because he had already lost one wife and child, and refused to lose another. Holly taught the Viking people several things they didn’t know, and Einar knew that she would make a perfect Jarl’s wife, and started to think he wanted her to stay. But life threw them a shocking twist, one that threatened to tear them apart for good. Einar is a strong, determined and not always so smart. Holly is brave, stubborn and kind. Together they what it takes to grow and defend their new home. It’s a very interesting and somewhat amusing story and I’m looking forward to reading the rest of this series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
Fast paced read with realistic characters and an intriguing story line. Holly is a modern woman, a successful businesswoman but she wants a child and a relationship—both of which seem out of her reach. She’s on vacation to Scotland when she’s thrown back in time.
Einar is a 9th century Warrior, widower and father. His wife, his love, died in childbirth and he refuses to go through that again. But in order to become Jarl and provide for his daughter, he must clear the new lands of outlaws and find himself a wife.
When Einar saves Holly from outlaws he marries her. They struggle together but when Holly finds herself pregnant she needs to return to her own time. Between the dangers of childbirth, Einars resistance and the fact that Holly is falling for him, she can’t stay. He’ll have to wake up if he wants to keep her.
Realistic characters with understandable hang ups that work together and grow as they earn their HEA. I really like the possibilities and obstacles that are present in a well written time travel and this story delivers. Each of the books in the series work as stand-alones and all have been excellent. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).
I turely enjoyed reading this story. The characters are well developed and engaging and plenty of chemistry from beginning to the end. Storyline flowed smoothly and easily.

great time travel romance!
I started reading at 3 AM and stayed up reading it though to the end!
There was so much happening I couldn’t find a place to put it down.
Mariah paints such detail with her words I could picture the village and Einer’s house.
And I would know Holly and Einer anywhere. 🙂
When Holly goes back in time she find adventure, danger, and a Viking to love!
Their love is deep but complicated. Will she stay or will she go? You have to read
to the end to find out! I recommend it’s worth the reading to find out!!
I have read and loved every book in this series and I have to say this one is my favourite by far
Einer has been sent to the Orkney island by his king to start a new settlement so he has taken his daughter and his people with him What he isn’t happy about is that his king has ordered him to remarry something he had no intention of doing until he is threatened that his land will be taken from him if he doesn’t comply. He and his men are clearing the land of outlaws that infest the area when he rescues a woman that attracts him. Holly is a CEo from the future who has been flung back through time She is a highly successful business woman but all she wants is a baby. The attraction between these two is huge and instant to the point that each will try to sacrifice themselves for the other. Will they find a way to have a future together You will have to read to see
The author knows how to write a story that is interesting and draws you into the pages. This is a write that I could not put down until I finished it.

I again enjoyed this book from the hand of Mariah Stone. You brought the time of the Vikings back to my mind through your words.
This Viking is a hard, stoic man, but thaws due to a strong realistic woman. Holly has met a norn at a tree and she goes back in time to the year 880. To give Einar the chance to become Jarl, she agrees to a marriage. I thought it was great to hear that there was a “Skald” present who had heard of several women who were married to Jarls ….. and those women were from the future! Nice reference to earlier parts in this series of stand-alone books.
The characters of Holly and Einar are beautifully displayed. Where Einar is mostly straightforward, he learns to open himself to his daughter and Holly. Holly is a CEO in her own time and has to work hard to remain in the men’s world. She takes the qualities of this time to 880 and she is appreciated by many in the village. Then she appears to be pregnant and Einar turns away from her. His fear of losing another woman in childbirth causes him to keep Holly away from him what strengthens her in her belief in go back to her own time. Her love for Einar remains strongly present and eventually she returns to the time of 880 and will do everything to convince him that love should be cherished. Better live 1 day with love than miss everything because of your fears. And also to place the tree that brought her to him. Great story again.

Holly’s overbearing adoptive mother makes her feel inadequate for her entire life. When she travels to Scotland to try to research her birth family, she meets a strange woman who sends her back in time. Appearing in front of a Viking who believes her a witch, he decides to sacrifice her to the Gods will earn his way into Valhalla. (Didn’t this guy ever hear of being a noble man who does great things for his people?) She is rescued by Einar, who is being forced by the King to marry again. Holly tells Einar she is unable to bear children, and that’s fine with him after losing his wife in childbirth with his second child. She is determined to get back home. He is determined not to fall in love again. Thoughts?
This was a steamy time travel adventure into the world of Vikings. Some of the underlying themes were family issues, courage, trust, regret, hope, and love.
I received a free copy of The Tree of Time, but that did not affect my review.
I absolutely enjoyed this wonderfully exciting book. I want to say so much about this by, but I’m afraid if I do I will give too much away and I don’t want to do that. I want you to read it and get out as much from it as I did. Loved everything about it.

The Tree of Time by Mariah Stone is a wonderful foray into the magic of time travel and romance!! Holly is a capable, hard-working woman in a field of men. She yearns for someone to love. She meets a Norn who sends her back to 880 A.D. to meet a Viking who needs her….Einar. He is a single father who lost his wife in childbirth. Can they be the one destined for the other? Can he get over his fears? Can she get over her feelings of inadequacy? This is a touching story of love!!!!
I am volunteering to leave a review for an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I love Mariah’s Time Travel stories! This is the third one of hers that I have read and it is as delightful as the other 2!!! I love how she melds the time periods for the heroine in this story and how she shares her life’s learnings with her step daughter. She didn’t think she would ever know true love or have children of her own, both of which she gets with Einar. You have no trouble turning the pages to see what is going to happen next in this wonderful story. The drama, adventure, action, and romance is a plenty in this delightful tale!!! You wonder is Thorir going to kidnap Holly and kill her because he thinks she is a witch? Will she be able to convince Einar that she will not die having a child? You will have to read it to find those and several more answers. I don’t like to give away endings.
Book five of the Called by a Viking Series a well written book that held my interest. Holly a successful CEO lives in Florida the year is 2019 she goes back in time to Scotland, 880 AD. and meets widower and Viking warrior Einar and his daughter Svanhild. I enjoyed reading this story. Time-travel romance is a favorite genre of mine, and The Tree of Time delivered for me. From the beginning to the satisfactory ending, I was immersed in the story. The main characters were likable, and even when I wanted to get in there and knock some sense into one or the other of them, I still rooted for their happy ending. Many thanks to the author for an enjoyable read.

Ms. Verdandi is a tricky lady.
Einar Birgirsson and his daughter Svanhild are saying goodbye when the king told Elinar he wants him to re-marry and soon if not he will not have a home of his own. Not a great thing to hear when he is off to rid the land of outlaws.
Holly is from the 21st century a modern businesswoman who is visiting Scotland in hopes of finding information about her background. What happens is that she got a whole lot more than just information. It was an in your face a real trip to the past. There is also a prophecy playing out in this story too. This was a really good story and so easy to get lost in it. High praise for Mariah Stone this was an excellent book and look forward to more work by her. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I loved the overall time travel romance. Holly and Einar were good and decent people who excelled at their jobs. But both had fears to conquer. Holly had a goal to complete in her time and Einar had his duty to his king to become a Jarl. When they meet in the ninth century there is curiosity and attraction. I admired Holly and Einar’s personalities. Down to earth, honest, sincere, yet powerful to command others well. They were not afraid to get their hands dirty. No job was beneath them. They both had some serious hangups to get over. This is an enjoyable action adventure romance that will keep you entertained page after page. The secondary characters one a mature man the other a little girl of ten summers. They were both wise and could see things in the main characters could not because of all the baggage they had. A very good read.
I found Ms. Stone by chance, and I have stuck with her from the beginning. I just love time travel romance! Thank you Ms. G. Ms. Stone has engaged me with awesome story-telling. Emotional, captivating, wonderful characters. I would read this series again, and I can’t wait to see what’s up next!
