Einar of the Orkneys Islands has taken up residence in a new country his king has forced him to come to. He and his men have been hunting for outlaws clearing the Islands. They come upon one the worst outlaws and that is when he finds the woman that he would fall in love with. Holly is a woman who enjoys her job but wants to have a family but hasn’t found a worthy man until she goes to Scotland where she and a little old lady by the name of Ms. Verdandi who is supposed to be her genealogy researcher from Inverness go to the Village of Tongue, Sutherland. From there the story goes into fantasy and becomes a romantic suspense. The story line is fabulous, the main characters touch your heart. I was at the edge of my seat with the great character and storyline development that kept me totally engaged throughout the entire book!
I love this series! Each couple have had their own unique set of challenges to overcome and Einer and Holly just may be my favorite couple. He lost his first wife during childbirth and swears to never go through that again. Holly wants nothing more than to have a child and has tried evrything including artificial insemination seven times. Holly is sent back to 9th century Scotland’s northern islands an into Einer’s life. I loved the story, the push and pull of their relationship, the twists and turns of the story. I’m so sorry to see this series come to an end, but I’m sure Mariah Stone has another great one in store for us.

Amazing! I have read every book in this series, but this one might have been my favorite. I don’t typically read historical or contemporary romance. This is a mix of the two. But the time travel aspect gives it more of a paranormal feel. Which is exactly why I started the series. I am so happy I did. Einar and Holly’s story was full of so much emotion. The story itself was heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. Einar was strong and confident, but he suffered an inner turmoil that weighed heavily on him. Holly was a successful business woman in her mid 30’s (thanks for that, it gets a bit old when everything you read has a lead female that is barely 20). Holly travels to Scotland to find out more about her birth family. She has always felt like something was missing in her life. This results in her being transported back to the 9th century. Einar and Holly definitely have chemistry. But he will need to overcome his fears, and Holly will need to move past her insecurities. The story is well written and has an easy flow to it. I almost felt as if I was a part of the story. I will tell you they get their HEA. But to find out how they did it, read the book. You won’t be disappointed. I am sorry to see the series end, but all good things do. A must read if you ask me.

I loved this time travel story. I have read all called by a Viking books and they were all great. If you like time travel books you will love this one
What a mind-blowing experience reading this story! I was so enraptured and involved in the characters that I felt as if I was actually back in the 9th Century. All the people there were alive and breathing figures that I could feel in my bones. Loved Holly and Einar with their back and forth indecisions as well as how their feelings grew and developed over time. The ending was one of the best I’ve read in awhile and tied everything together perfectly. Hated to come to the end and now I’m afraid I must deal with reality.

This was such an awesome read that I really enjoyed. The story and characters pulled me in form the beginning and I couldn’t stop reading. Holly goes back in time to 880 AD and meets Eniar, they have a instant attraction. Having lost a wife and child in child birth he doesn’t want to go through that again, but Holly had always wanted a child, so when she ends up pregnant he turns away form her. There are many insecurities and obstacles for them to get through to see if they get their HEA! It’s filled with action, suspense, drama, frustration, anger, passion, love, hot alpha male and a steamy romance a must read for any fan and I can’t wait to read more form this author!!!

Book five and the final in the series brings tons of emotions and action. It’s well written and brought to life with the authors descriptive writing and detailed scenes. She brings danger and romance and weaves a great addition to this time travel series. I loved watching the relationship evolve and grow and would recommend this book.

I Give this Book a 2.5/5 Star Rating, Listing as 2.
I won’t be doing a rating list for this, I just need to say first, that I Have Not Read the entire series.
This book just didn’t click with me sadly, it’s way too fast paced and pretty much everyone is almost, too at ease, with practically everything.
The story overall to me it has a very unrealistic feel.
The dialogue and flow is very choppy.
I was really in the mood for a time travel and this was a let down for me.
