I’ve dealt with my share of homelessness. I’ve endured being the bad gal in the room. I’ve taken a lot of life’s punches on the chin. But never did I expect to be forced to attend an academy full of power-hungry delinquents. Born with powers far too great to control, I ended up homeless at eight years old. With my family gone, I lived on the streets, learning quickly that the world was just as … that the world was just as cold as my beating heart.
Because I carry all eight magic elements, enemies sought me out from every dark corner. Luckily, I was saved and taken in by Alaric Masters, headmaster of Tracker Hive Academy.
My name is Jade Storm, and I’m the youngest recruit to become a Tracker.
Now that I’m eighteen, Alaric is insisting that I attend the academy. I’ll do it, but on my own terms. My only goal is to learn just how powerful I am and breeze through the next four years. I have no interest in joining any cliques, and I’m not here to make friends. If there’s one thing life has taught me, it’s that I work best alone.
However, the Troubled Four — Zeke, Zion, Zackery, and Zeus — have other plans. Quadruplets who together carry all eight elements, the boys are desperate to make me submit to their trickery. They’re stupid to think I’ll play by anyone’s rules but my own.
I can handle whatever threats, traps, bullying, and schemes are thrown my way, because I’m not here to be a good student. I’m here to keep my secret safe from those who will do everything to see me perish.
Game on.
This is an 18+ Academy Romance.

Jade is my new best friend!!!! This chick is awesome!! She has a really tough childhood that only gets better when a nice man saves her and brings her into his home. She gets trained with all right of her powers (she’s a rare one like that) making her pretty awesome even before she is forced to go to the Academy. Her personality had me laughing so hard which only gets better when the hot quadruplets were introduced. I was unable to put it down! A total must read! I loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
This book is so good and Jade was awesome. She didnt care what people thought about her or how weird she was to them. She carries all the elements since she was little. Now she knows bow to use and control them she gets enrolled at her dads school and needs to help him figure out whats going on behind the scenes. Where she meets four guys who all carry the elements and all call to her powers. Absolutely loved them all and can not wait for the next book.
I think this is my favorite female character from this author so far. Now I know this is a fairly new for this pen name, but it is no secret that this author has another pen name with many books already. I’ve read probably 50 of them, and I like Jade the best for sure. I especially liked her at the beginning because she is so sassy and ridiculous, and then she gets even better about halfway through the book when she grows into a strong, and ridiculously intelligent woman, kind of all at once.
I think I like her because she’s so tough at the beginning, and this book even touches on issues like darkness and sex trafficking, but instead of sex trafficking, it’s more like magic trafficking! Pretty cool concept.
Surprisingly Steamy, Violent & Captivating!!
(Read using Kindle Unlimited)
This is a much more grown up, messed up, sexy & violent Academy Read than most of the ones I’ve read & I’ve read a lot of them. It gripped me from the start with its darker story & main character – Jade.
Jade’s family were slain in front of her by dark, manipulative forces when she was 7 years old. She was placed in ‘the System’ but the poor kid was constantly being chased & attempts were repeatedly made to kidnap her, for her elemental magic. She ended up running away & living on the streets, still being chased, hungry, terrified, heart broken & only her determination to survive for the family she’d lost, keeping her alive!!
After a year she’s nearly captured when a stranger steps in & saves her, offers her understanding, safety & a loving home!! Aleric Masters is the Headmaster of the Tracker Hive Academy. The institution trains young adults, 18+, in their element’s as well other more deadly activities!! The hope is that these young, strong but so far unruly & untrainable people can be taught to go out into the world & bring down the bad guys that but & well kids like Jade!! Its a worthy & noble cause and future career. Aleric asks that Jade attends the Academy once she’s of age – agrees!!
As Jade grows we get to see her brand of crazy! She’s a bit like a cross between Harley Quinn (Suicide Squad) & Black Widow with a small side of the Hulk (The Avengers) The Hulk part is due to Shadow Jade
Her first day she quite literally bumps into identical quads – the Maxwell brothers – Zeke, Zeus, Zackery & Zion. Their elements all ready extremely strongly with hers & for someone that doesn’t mix well with others, this throws her for a loop!! Especially the Insta lust she feels for all of them Is this the start of a beautiful friendship or is it the beginning of the end for Jade & the Academy??
I loved this series opener

Troubled past? Crazy, funny, sassy, strong FMC? Super hot quadruplets? Look no more, you found the book for you! Jade is a strong eighteen year old, that has a troubled past and super strong powers and she working as a Junior Tracker when her adoptive father tells er she has to go to Tracker Academy in order to progress from junior to full Trackers. And them we meet the quads!
In this first book we learn a little about them while Jade forms her relationships with Zeke, Zeus, Zachary and Zion. All along she gets the “help” of Shadow Jade, that I LOVED by the way. Can’t wait to next book, so many questions and hot scenes in my future!
The Tracker Hive Academy: Year One is book one in Avery Song’s Jade Storm Tracker series. I have to say first of all…I LOVE that the author gives the reader Jade’s early years. When I realized this I devoured that section of the book. Normally authors give us flashbacks or little tastes of life WAS like for them, but we got to experience it with Jade as she stayed on the run from the men who wanted to drag her to the Black Market for her unique and rare abilities. Fast forward 10 years and we get to the good stuff!
I truly enjoyed this book. I will admit that the author had me fluctuating back and forth on whether I really liked Jade or not. One minute I did and then came the snark and inappropriate commentary and I was like “ack!” I can’t help it. I was the good girl growing up and when she does crazy stuff I keep waiting on a reprimand, but it’s obvious that her adoptive father has learned and perfected his best way of handling her…very hands off. It bugs me for a bit, but then I’m just like…eh. I’ll roll with it. I do think it’s a bit crazy that my favorite character seems to be Shadow Jade. She’s so cute! LOL! Weird..but cute and that I can relate to. The better I get to know Jade though the more I can understand her and on some levels relate to her as well.
For me, this story ebbs and flows. It has fast-paced moments and then it slows down. When the story slows down in places I get anxious for some action, but then the author gives me something to sink my claws into. I like the intense moments that Jade finds herself in. I appreciate the author showing me her more vulnerable side in those moments. They are few and far between, but I’d like to see more. I like the twists and the way the story weaves together to see if you’re really paying attention.
I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. I can’t wait for more of Jade, Shadow Jade, and these four sexy guys! I love how the author gives us so many unique characters, situations and surprises. I can’t wait to hear more of Shadow Jade’s “Kill” song and hilarious moments. If you are a fan of Avery Song, like me, grab this book! Totally worth it!
Freaking fantastic storyline! The magic is awesome and Jade is seriously badass. Not to mention the Trouble Four, sexy, sweet, dangerous and definitely not off limits for Jade. I love Jade, she had a really hard go of it as a child and that had her running for a year. I really love her crazy, don’t give a crap attitude and all over the place personality. I love her family too, they are very excepting and they match her crazy. The mystery wasn’t really one, I figured it out right away but that doesn’t mean the storyline is any less entertaining and this was definitely a sexy, magic filled and action packed read.
I absolutely love love love Jade’s personality. She was dealt a rough hand and it made her a snarky, take no bs kind of woman. I adore that!! Shes not a simpering mess and she has no issue going head to head with any of the Trouble Four. The world is easily understood and the plot is easy to follow, yet not so easy you lose interest either. Theres a great balance between action, emotion and romance. The characters are well done. Overall the storyline has a great feel to it and I can’t wait to see what happens in book 2.
Exceptional start to Avery Song’s new series. Jade is a quirky lovable character, and her elemental “twin” Shadow Jade is one of my favorite characters.
Both join an Academy of magic users that are the delinquents of the community. They meet the hot quadruplete Maxwell brothers and join them to track the ones killing students.
A great read filled with snark, and laughter. Looking forward to book two.
